The Paramedic/PTN functions on an ambulance performing prehospital emergency responses and interfacility transports normally as the senior member of a two person care team. When paired with a EMT-B, the Paramedic would be responsible to direct the care of the patient and delegate as appropriate for the scope of practice. The two person care team is responsible to assess and apply appropriate medical treatment protocols to care for the patient. The Paramedic directly reports to the Operations Manger which handles non-clinical job performance items. The Paramedic provides patient care under the authority of the Medical Director and reports to the Clinical Manager for clinical care issues.

Operates and maintains PTN vehicles in a safe and ready condition. Provides safe, quality care to ill or injured patients in prehospital or intrahospital setting. Will be primarily responsible in field situations if holding senior medic status. When performing SCT, will act under the direction of the Transport Nurse during care and transport of interhospital patients. Provides ongoing monitoring and management as directed of the critically ill or injured during transport

Job Description

ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital has been providing high-quality health care services to the Branch County community since 1939. Located in Coldwater, Michigan, ProMedica Coldwater has 71 acute medical beds and 16 adult psychiatric beds to care for patients and their families.

Position Summary:

Under the direction of a registered nurse, performs various patient care activities necessary in caring for patient or a group of patients. Performs clerical and receptionist duties as required.

Accountabilities:

  1. Applies the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served (ie: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric), coordinated and delegated by licensed nursing personnel.

  2. Obtains patient data, including vital signs, height, weight, and I and O measurements and documents on the daily nursing assessment sheet or communicates results to the assigned RN. Notifies RN of abnormal vitals or PGLUs immediately.

  3. Assists physicians and nursing staff with examinations, procedures, and other processes related to direct patient care depending on assigned department, including but not limited to: Venipuncture, point of care testing, patient transport, assist patients with ADLs, assist patients with ambulation, 12 lead EKG's, initiation of cardiac monitoring, CPR, and urinary catherization.

  4. Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and equipment. Ensures proper functioning of equipment, including initial cleaning of instruments.

  5. Performs communication and coordination duties related to scheduling procedures, along with coordinating admission, discharge, transfer, and death. Collects data, photocopies information, answers telephone, takes messages, directs calls, and enters information into the computer.

  6. Picks up and delivers specimens, documents, and other items. Supports department during crisis by functioning as liaison with other departments and the public.

  7. Prepares and maintains patient records according to standards/policy.

  8. Performs any other job related to duties as indicated.

  • Must have completed formal radiologic technology training at an AMA-approved school.

POSITION SUMMARY

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Reports for scheduled shifts on time and in a professional manner with regard to behavior, telephone courtesy, dress, identification, and communication with patients' colleagues, and outside agencies.

  4. POSITION SUMMARY The pharmacy technician works under the supervision of the Pharmacist. The employee will enter and fill physician orders, checks the completed orders, and performs other related functions. They help assist in the maintenance, preparation, and distribution of intravenous solutions, admixtures, and chemotherapy agents. The ideal candidate will enjoy problem solving, highly organized, and day-to-day interactions with customers and patients.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Under the direction of a registered pharmacist, procures and distributes medication orders per physician request, pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.

  • Fills physician orders. Replenish medication surgical kits, automated dispensing machines, and stock requisitions accurately.

  • Prepares intravenous admixtures and other sterile preparations (including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition where applicable) safely and accurately using appropriate techniques. Only Pharmacy Technicians who have completed all required competencies will prepare intravenous admixtures

  • Assists in ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing medications and supplies in appropriate locations; Repackages bulk medications in unit-dose packages safely and accurately per established procedures using appropriate techniques

  • Assists in completing all medication inspections and identifies and removes all outdated and unusable medications.

POSITION SUMMARY The Registered Respiratory Therapist will be competent to care for patients of all ages to include infants, children, adolescents, adult and geriatric population dependent on the area assigned. ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Achieves and maintains a level of competency to perform prescribed therapeutic and diagnostic procedures within their scope of practice, as required per business unit, in accordance to departmental competency standards, which include general care, critical care, emergency care and diagnostic procedures, including, but not limited to, the following: - General Care: patient identification and assessment, medical gas delivery, medication administration via nebulizers and MDI/DPI, Broncho pulmonary hygiene and hyperinflation therapy - Critical Care: initiation, management, and weaning of invasive and non-invasive ventilation; airway management and suction, including tracheostomy, endotracheal and pharyngeal; cuff and ETCO2 monitoring, intubation and extubation; set-up, calibration, insertion (arterial lines) and maintenance of indwelling lines and catheters, and high risk newborn deliveries - Emergency Care: responds to rapid responses and emergency codes; performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), airway management, and actively participates in patient stabilization, internal and external transports - Diagnostic Care: blood sampling and analysis, specimen collection, continuous and/or noninvasive monitoring, bedside pulmonary function screens, spontaneous breathing parameters and electrocardiograms (EKG) Note: critical tests and values will be reported in a timely manner per Hospital Policy.

  5. Assist with clinical instruction of respiratory care, nursing, medical students and residents, as needed. Actively participates in the orientation of new staff and contributes to the growth of others.

  6. Understands and acts in accordance with all Respiratory Care and Hospital Policies and Procedures for those areas assigned and is able to independently function in those areas.

Job Description

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reports to unit manager. Works under supervision of a Registered Nurse and in collaboration with other health care professionals.

POSITION SUMMARY

One on one nursing preceptorship to enhance nursing knowledge, awareness of nursing role, enhancing confidence, acclimation to environment, and socialization to the team. Under supervision of RN preceptor and in collaboration with other care professionals, assists in performing a variety of nursing care services for patients.

PROGRAM DETAILS

Work one on one with a registered nurse preceptor under direct supervision in the clinical setting. Engage in required didactic educational assignments as scheduled. Participation in progress evaluations required.

Upon completion of the orientation requirements, the nursing apprentice is required to work a minimum of 24 hours a month as a nursing apprentice until transition into the nursing residency in addition to ongoing educational requirements. If a nursing apprentice does not accept or receive a residency position during the designated hiring period for their anticipated graduation date, their position as a nursing apprentice will be transitioned out of the nursing apprentice program and into another appropriate position as available.

Must maintain enrollment in accredited nursing program during Nursing Apprenticeship with exception of graduation from the program and awaiting to take NCLEX exam.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise

  1. Nursing Apprentice works under direct supervision of an RN preceptor

  2. Perform duties related to nursing care and nursing process as noted in Table A: Role Functions of the Nursing Apprentice.

  3. Other duties as assigned.

    ROLE FUNCTIONS OF NURSING APPRENTICE

    ASSESS

    - Data collection & documentation of patient health status

    - Participate in patient rounds

    PLAN

    - Reports observations about patient's condition to RN & physician

    - Communicate with RN regarding Plan of Care & Patient/Family Education

    - Communicates with RN regarding the organization of assignments based on priorities

    IMPLEMENT

    - Perform skills, treatments or interventions provided they have performed successful educational validation and delegation of RN preceptor

    - Observes & discusses medication administration, IV therapy by the RN & other skills/interventions not authorized for Nursing Apprentice to perform

    - May not receive physician orders

    - May not delegate or supervise care

    EVALUATE

    - Reports noted changes to the registered nurse.

    - Participate in personal clinical and didactic evaluation process

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Education: Enrollment in an accredited nursing program and successful completion of first clinical semester.

    Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) completed within orientation period.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Personal Protective Equipment: Must Demonstrate knowledge and use of standard precautions and personal protective equipment.

    Physical Demands:

    - Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations, and prolonged periods of standing.

    - Must be able to understand directions and be able to communicate and respond to inquiries with effective people skills.

Maintenance Mechanic/Offsite - Property Management - Full Time - Days - ProMedica Health System

Job Description

Repairs and maintains the off-site properties and equipment and assists in the organization's compliance to rules and codes set forth by regulatory agencies, such as Joint Commission, OSHA, NFPA, etc. This position is a decision maker for Facility Services, responsible for the operations, repair and maintenance of all equipment for all off-site properties and the continuous operation of the building during off-shifts and weekends. Ensure the off-site properties have an aesthetically appealing environment for patients, visitors and associates by direct responsibility for all off-site properties during regular, off-shift and weekends.

Primary Duties

  • Performs diagnostic, preventive, emergency and final repairs on all equipment/systems including, but not limited to: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, steam, pneumatics, refrigeration, medical gas and controls, irrigation systems, fire protection systems, roofing systems, landscaping, storm and sanitary sewer systems, parking lots, plaster and wall covering repairs and equipment transport and set-up.

  • Troubleshoot problems, both within and out of the normal sphere of responsibility, works in other maintenance areas and as requested.

  • Responds to emergency situations on weekend and varied shifts. Handles major problems alone by making emergency repairs or calling in the appropriate contractor.

  • Responsible for purchasing all materials/labor for all preventive maintenance/repairs and completion of all appropriate paper work. Acquire cost estimates from contractors.

  • Maintains areas of responsibility in a neat and orderly manner, including cleaning and general housekeeping.

  • Works daily in accordance with departmental guidelines as it relates to the operation of the off-site properties.

  • Required to work outside in all weather conditions.

  • Communicates with administrative staff and associates in their area as it pertains to emergency situations throughout the off-site properties.

  • Completes and submits daily paperwork, prioritizes and schedules all work. Maintains an adequate, up-to-date record of all repairs and work in progress throughout the off-site properties.

  • Participates and promotes continuous quality improvement.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Special Duties

  • Maintains all off-site properties as they relate to all trades and disciplines on normal and varied shifts, which are indirectly supervised.

  • Involved in the Fire and Disaster Programs at all off-site properties and must respond to assigned calls of emergency nature and provide assistance as required to the physical function of each property.

  • Coordinate set-up/start-up of new or existing properties/businesses.

  • Required to work 24-hour on-call weekends for off-site properties.

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Requires high proficiencies in at least one trade with at least four (4) years' experience in maintenance, preferably at the Toledo Hospital or eight (8) years certified related maintenance experience.

  • Must be able to interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams. Must be willing to learn new skills.

  • Must be able to move between off-site properties.

  • Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills.

  • Must be able to input and retrieve information from computer.

  • Must be able to tolerate exposure to hazardous chemicals, dust, fumes, electrical voltage and temperature changes, and work at heights at 20% of the time; and differentiate between colors.

  • Must be able to work with tools and operate various controls and machinery.

  • Must be able to frequently move, lift or carry materials or equipment. Light and medium weight materials and equipment occasionally.

  • Valid Driver's License required.
