POSITION SUMMARY The Respiratory Care Assistant will be competent to care for patients of all ages to include infants, children, adolescents, adult and geriatric population, dependent on the area assigned. The Respiratory Care Assistant is able to perform the skills/procedures validated by an accredited respiratory care program and approved by the state issuing the limited practice license, required by the assignment with supervision, according to regulatory standards, clinical practice guidelines, policies and procedures approved by the Medical Directors and Administration. This individual performs the duties and responsibilities outlined below as assigned, under supervision from the Respiratory Care Department leadership team and the Medical Directors of Respiratory Care. Standards of performance and skills for the areas to which the individual may be assigned must be maintained according to department policy. The individual must be committed to providing patients and families with a positive experience through compassionate care and excellent service, safely and efficiently. This individual will display professionalism at all times and maintain patient confidentiality.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Achieves and maintains a level of competency to perform prescribed therapeutic and diagnostic procedures within their scope of practice per business unit, in accordance to departmental competency standards, which include general care, critical care, emergency care, and diagnostic procedures, including, but not limited to, the following: - General Care: patient identification and assessment, medical gas delivery, medication administration via nebulizers and MDI/DPI, bronchopulmonary hygiene, and hyperinflation therapy - Critical Care: initiation, management and weaning of invasive and non-invasive ventilation; airway management and suction, including tracheostomy, endotracheal and pharyngeal; cuff and ETCO2 monitoring, intubation assist and extubation; set-up, calibration, and maintenance of arterial and central venous pressure lines - Emergency Care: responds to rapid responses and emergency codes, as required; performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), airway management, and actively participates in patient stabilization and internal transports - Diagnostic Care: blood sampling and analysis, specimen collection, continuous and/or noninvasive monitoring, bedside pulmonary function screens, spontaneous breathing parameters, electrocardiograms (EKG) o Note: critical tests and values will be reported in a timely manner per Hospital Policy.
Safely assembles, operates and trouble shoots therapeutic and diagnostic equipment required for patient care, including, but not limited to, the following: - Gas administration, monitoring and analyzing devices, including flow meters and regulators, blenders, cylinders and bulk systems, compressors, analyzers, and pulse oximeters - Mechanical devices, including mechanical ventilators, manometers, gauges, spirometers and EKG machines. - Age specific patient care equipment, including resuscitation equipment, oral and nasal airways, endotracheal and tracheal tubes - Equipment disinfection and sterilization
Understands and applies Respiratory Care Clinical Practice Guidelines, to provide safe, highly efficient, and cost effective care, using evidence based best practice.
Provide educational needs of patients on disease specific process, tobacco cessation and respiratory care services provided, including instruction for home care equipment and medications.
Assist with clinical instruction of respiratory care, nursing, and medical students and residents, as needed. Actively participates in the orientation of new staff and contributes to the growth of others
Understands and acts in accordance with all Respiratory Care and Hospital Policy and Procedures for those areas assigned and is able to with minimal supervision in those areas.
Completes accurate patient documentation, including billing and productivity standards. Participates in creating a plan of care, evaluate achievement of identified goals, record results and communicate pertinent information to appropriate members of the health care team
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested, within the scope of training and educational documentation as per Limited Permit
Education: Must be actively enrolled and in good standing, or a recent graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program
Skills: Must be able to input and retrieve computer information
License: If working in an Ohio facility, a current Limited Permit License to render respiratory care services by the Ohio Respiratory Care Board in the State of Ohio. Membership in the American Association of Respiratory Care and other professional organizations is desired.
Certification: Must hold current BLS certification

Be able to communicate and interact effectively and collaboratively with a variety of professionals, including physicians, nurses, care navigators and administrators, to promote a seamless patient care continuum. Be able to understand and comprehend directions and be able to communicate and respond to inquiries.
Have excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, problem solving and critical thinking skills. Take ownership of problems, handle stress in a professional and healthy manner, and make informed decisions. Adheres to the code of ethics set forth by state respiratory care boards.
Be dependable, reliable, and punctual in accordance with department attendance policy, including mandatory overtime and on-call rotation, as needed. Attends required and staff meetings, including in-services, in accordance with department policy. Must appear professional and abide by appropriate dress code policy.
Working Conditions
Personal Protective Equipment: Tolerate exposure to infectious diseases and follow infection prevention and control strategies.
Physical Demands: Be able to move about hospital and between workstations, efficiently and effectively. Must be able to occasionally and with assistance move heavy weight materials equipment, or patients.
Addendum
Cleaning/disinfecting/sterilizing equipment as needed
Managing oxygen cylinders, supplying to patient care areas as needed.
Assist with stocking areas of supplies, works with central supply to scan/stock areas as needed.
Unpacking delivery items and inventory control.
Other duties as assigned.
The above addendum is applicable to Respiratory Care Assistants who are enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy Program but are not yet eligible to obtain a limited permit to practice Respiratory Care in Ohio.
Respiratory Care Assistants will submit an application for a limited permit within 4 weeks of being eligible.

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of a radiologist, the CT Technologist performs complex professional procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Obtains high quality scans, which are interpreted by a radiologist in the evaluation of disease or abnormality. Assists radiologists or other staff physicians in the performance of diagnostic CT procedures whenever required.

POSITION SUMMARY
Functions as a member of the surgical team performing assigned duties of the technologist in the scrub role. Applies knowledge of concepts necessary for maintain integrity of the sterile field. Serves the following populations: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Demonstrates proficiency in proper scrub technique and the handling of instruments, supplies and equipment for the assigned cases following department policies and procedures and job description. Demonstrates age related competency in the scrub role for the following age populations: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
Utilizes preference lists, in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology, departmental policies and procedures and the patient's age-related needs in preparing for and carrying out case responsibilities. Shares responsibilities with the clinical nurse for keeping preference cards current.
3.Maintains integrity of the sterile field by utilizing aseptic techniques and observation of the surgical team. Promptly addresses any observed breaks in sterile technique.
Collaborates with the circulating nurse to effect accurate sponge, instrument, and sharp counts as per departmental guideline.
Checks daily schedule to maintain proper supply of instruments, set-ups, and supplies specific to patient's age and physician preferences. Assists other personnel with procedures.
Participates in the process of orientation of new employees and students to the scrub role. Acts as a role model and resource person for staff and students.
Maintains certification according to professional requirements and presents proof of certification to the Service Coordinator.
Serves as a liaison between co-workers and other departments demonstrating good guest relations with physicians, patients, and other staff. Functions as a cooperative and supportive member of the surgery department staff.
Maintains understanding of departmental goals and objectives and works with co-workers and management to obtain goals and objectives.

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of a radiologist, the CT Technologist performs complex professional procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Obtains high quality scans, which are interpreted by a radiologist in the evaluation of disease or abnormality. Assists radiologists or other staff physicians in the performance of diagnostic CT procedures whenever required.

Performs both routine and complex histologic techniques i.e., histochemistry, immunohistochemistry in-situ hybridization and immunofluorescence on tissue samples for microscopic examination by a pathologist to diagnose disease. ACCOUNTABILITIES All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise 1. Performs all routine tissue preparation including routine cutting, embedding, slide preparation and staining using established departmental policies and procedures. 2. Following prescribed protocol with adequate orientation, performs special procedures which require a complex network of steps and variables as well as all of the routine and repetitive tests in a high-volume anatomic pathology laboratory. 3. Recognizes problems, identifies the cause (i.e., technical, instrumental, or physiological) and determines solutions following established departmental policies and procedures. 4. Assists the pathologist in making various examinations on submitted tissue specimens and collection and processing of tissue biopsies. 5. Performs, records, and maintains accurate quality control records. 6. Participates in establishing and monitoring quality assurance programs in the laboratory. 7. Maintains established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, and infection control. 8. Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms, as well as other common areas of their job assignment such as rest rooms, nurses' stations, corridors, conference rooms, utility rooms, treatment areas, kitchens, offices, lobbies, lounges, stairwells and waiting rooms. Other assigned areas may include surgery OR's, labor and delivery, emergency department and other procedural areas.
Performs duties while demonstrating working knowledge of the health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements as well as proper and safe chemical use.
Adheres to all organization safety, risk management and infection control guidelines and standards while promoting a culture of safety.
Actively participates in departmental performance improvement initiatives, including but not limited to initiatives to improve patient experience and cleanliness metrics.
Maintains cleaning cart(s), supplies and equipment evidence by properly stocking and restocking environmental services cart in a neat and orderly fashion.
Removes trash and other waste and transports to the appropriate disposal area while identifying proper waste streams handling.

Collects products or specimens for basic procedures and performs point-of-care testing using proper techniques.

The Unit Clerk/Nursing Assistant position will provide basic patient care as assigned under the direct supervision of the professional nurse. The Unit Clerk/Nursing Assistant functions as a member of a team, attending the nursing station, patient rooms, and performs clerical and reception functions. The EMT training program is a one semester training run through Four County Career Center. It is a full-time training program with classroom and clinical experience.
Trainee must complete all required EMT training hours by maintaining 100% attendance during the Four County Career Center EMT training course.
Upon successful completion of the EMT Training Program and receiving EMT certification, trainee will commit to working with the ProMedica Transportation Network for a 2-year period.
EMT Role and Accountability at PTN:
Operates and maintains PTN vehicles in a safe and ready condition. Provides safe, quality care to clients during non-emergency transports.
Supports and adheres to the State of Ohio, Michigan, ProMedica Health System and ProMedica Transportation Network policies and procedures.
Maintain PTN vehicles in a constant state of readiness and cleanliness. Document checks of PTN vehicles and equipment every shift.
Practices within their scope of practice as defined by the appropriate State certification and shall be accountable for their actions.
Provide a safe, therapeutic and efficient patient care environment through collaboration with other disciplines.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and commercial experience preferred. Requires the ability to work independently with little supervision. Must have a valid OH driver's license and driving record that meets policy requirements.

Must be able to input and retrieve information from computer.
Must be able to lift medium materials with occasionally having to lift objects in excess of 100 lbs, Non-material handling of: continuous standing, walking, bending, stooping and reaching; frequent pushing, pulling and squatting. Occasional sitting, stairs and kneeling.
Refrigeration certification preferred.
Must possess a minimum of three years general maintenance experience in a commercial setting, preferably a Healthcare environment.

Scope of Service:
The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care provided to a group of patients. This nurse leads the nursing team members in the care as directed by the attending physician and in collaboration with other health care providers in accordance with the philosophy and policies of ProMedica Acute Care Hospitals. Actively participates in the creation of an environment that fosters patient, family, physician and employee satisfaction. Ensures decisions made are based on patient and family centered care philosophy utilizing evidenced based practices, and focused on safety, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.

Unit Overview:
19 Bed Unit
4:1 Patient to RN ratio
Patient Population:
Chronic Heart Failure, Myocardial Infarction, Atrial and Ventricular Arrhythmias, Pre and post Stent, PPM Insertion, and ICD Insertion.
This unit also takes intermediate overflow patients as needed.

Position Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited nursing school. BSN preferred
Current State license as a Registered Nurse
1 year of experience as an RN
Current CPR / BLS Certification
Specialty certifications as required for the department
**RNs for this unit will be required to obtain ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Certification if not already obtained
