This position will support an OPIR Joint customer Program Office responsible for acquiring the Overhead Persistence GEOINT Architecture (OPGA) that will provide the user community with OPIR capabilities in a modular, open architecture that provides global, persistent, real-time surveillance and activity based intelligence information. This position supports a hybrid Agile process with the Government as the overall integrator in a Cloud Environment. The successful applicant will provide SETA support as a Systems Engineer for a range of system engineering efforts and technical expertise, continuity of effort and value-added judgment to advise and assist the customer's leadership and contract teams.

SPECIFIC TASKING/PROJECT SUPPORT:

  • Perform systems engineering functions to include requirements management, systems testing (validation and verification), systems analysis, configuration management, quality assurance, risk management, and stakeholder management

  • Participate in and facilitate large group TEMs with disparate members to reach requirement consensus to capture strategic capabilities for customers, both internal and external

  • Develop clear, consistent, testable acceptance criteria and requirements, and ensuring proper traceability between different levels of requirements and architecture

  • Execute end-to-end processes and preparing and coordinating required documentation

  • Demonstrate the ability to capture users' needs by performing requirements elicitation directly with stakeholders, drafting and documenting requirements to implement changes to operational baselines

  • Serve on integrated cross-functional teams supporting studies and analysis

  • Define and document interfaces, system specs and capability requirements

  • Perform requirements traceability and coordinate requirement priorities to assist informed management decisions (budget, technical and schedule)

  • Develop/Review acquisition plans and documentation

  • Develop/Review service level and/or level of effort agreements

  • Review contract data requirements lists (CDRLs)

  • Evaluate engineering change proposals and detail project schedules

  • Travel in support of role

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and zero (0) years or more experience

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • Must possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph

  • Broad understanding of space and/or ground systems, hardware, software, operations, and their interdependence

  • Working knowledge of IC principles, procedures

  • The ability to work proactively, independently, and/or as a member of a highly effective technical team while developing approaches

  • Demonstrated knowledge of AGILE Scrum and SAFe software development methods

  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and various SE, PM tools

  • Must be able to travel

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • IR Common Systems and Data Components to include OPIR phenomenology, characteristics, designs, commanding systems, and data processing architectures. Current and known future sensors include: Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) GEO, Defense Support Program (DSP), and awareness of Next Gen GEO, Next Gen Polar, space Defense Agency/Missile Defense Agency Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor (HBTSS)

  • GEOINT Reference Architecture, Consolidated OPIR Ground System (COGS), MDA's Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC), SMC's Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution (FORGE), and Enterprise Ground Services (EGS)

  • SAFe Agilist certification

SAIC has an immediate opening for an Executive Communications Support Technician. The position will support the HQ USCENTCOM C4I initiatives at MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, Florida.

The Executive Communications Network Support Technician shall provide support for day-to-day operations for VIP/Executive Level personnel assigned to USCENTCOM located at MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL. The ideal candidate will provide 24 / 7 advanced technical support to maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and restore network devices to an operational status, to include personal electronic devices (PEDs), and computers, thin/zero clients, laptops, and peripherals. The candidate must be knowledgeable of COMSEC equipment.

This is a deployable position (travel is between 5 - 10% is common) and will require travel to both CONUS and OCONUS locations; as such, possession and maintenance of a current U.S. passport is required.

The ultimate goal is to ensure data, voice, video, and communication requirements are correctly provisioned and operational to support assured communication between warfighters and Senior Defense Officials, Commander USCENTCOM and USCENTCOM staff.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • This position requires both broad and deep technology knowledge in network engineering design and maintenance as well as the ability to architect solutions by applying advanced analysis skills to map customer operational challenges to appropriate end-to-end technology solutions.

  • Provide support for the Executive Communications Team and all Very Important Persons (VIP) team. VIPs consist of local quarters, office and travel to CONUS and Outside the CONUS (OCONUS) locations.

  • Support Executive Communications / Information Systems and networks, including remote communications equipment, mobile and deployable network communication systems, strategic and tactical multi-channel satellite communication systems (BGAN terminals), secure telephone equipment, video conferencing terminals, laptops, desktops, computer peripherals and other equipment, supporting executive communications capabilities.

  • Test all deployable mobile communications equipment and communications suites to ensure all equipment is operational. The equipment shall be ready to deploy within one hour of the notifications for deployment. Personnel will deploy to install, operate and maintain (IO&M) all mobile communications kits and associated devices.

  • Under very minimal to no supervision provide front line support to executive level customers to include interacting with network services, software systems engineering and asset management to restore service and/or identify core problems.

  • Manage infrastructures for operational networks, of multiple security classification levels.

  • Serve as a technical point of contact for all matters related to network infrastructure efforts.

  • Interacts daily with executive level customers, supervisor, peer groups and customers in order to manage workflow in timely and professional manner.

  • Responsible for documenting, upgrading and replacing hardware and software systems.

  • Conduct LAN (Ethernet, HSRP, EIGRP, BGP, etc) and WAN (ISDN, ATM, SONET, etc) preventive and corrective maintenance and troubleshooting/problem resolution.

  • DoD 8570 IAT-II certification is required and satisfied by holding (minimum) CompTIA Security+ (SY0-301) certification.

  • Extensive experience with troubleshooting Microsoft OS (Windows 7/10), Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, Active Directory, Microsoft Office suite, VMWare virtual servers, Cisco networking (routers and switches).

  • Experience with troubleshooting and managing cryptographic encryptors (KG-175D, IPS-250, STE phones, simple key loaders (SKL), TACSAT radios

  • Required to have a valid passport in the event travel to the USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility is necessary.

  • Recommend: Valid international driver's license.

  • Working closely with the team tech lead, developers, data analyst and data scientist, the successful candidate will participate in the development, integration testing and validation, and all aspects of the software life cycle for model-driven, micro-service JEE architecture software applications.

  • Candidates will use modern software engineering tools including Eclipse, Git, Python, PyTorch Java and Atlassian Suites for design, development, and testing the software.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related engineering field with 5+ years of technical experience
