Reports to: Dan Burer, Forestry & R/W Manager

Location: Atlanta Area, can be mostly remote; Successful candidate must currently live in Georgia or able to relocate. Some relcation assistance may made available based on circumstances.

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for leading a team of employees and consultants that performs many of the support functions for FROW field operations. Key areas include procurement, project controls, business intelligence, technology, and customer communication.

Position will manage the sourcing and renewal of vendor service contracts. Candidate should have knowledge of CAMP and Supply Chain processes. Manages financial transactions like unregulated billing and check requests.

This position will track and communicate financial performance, including monthly spending and workplan progress. Will be directly involved in the development of the Condition Based Maintenance workplan for distribution; supports the transmission workplan from a systems and reporting standpoint.

The business office manager is also responsible for ensuring the organization is enabled by technology, maintaining the systems used by the organization on daily and delivering value-added enhancements to drive operational excellence.

This position will develop and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders including leadership in other business units and contract vendors. Candidate must provide leadership to team, develop employees, and manage employee performance.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Educational/Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Accounting, or related discipline is required. Graduate degree preferred.

Experience Desired:

  • Experience with service contract development and administration

  • Supervising others

  • Scheduling, budgeting, and financial reporting

  • Internal or vendor sourced application development and support

  • Experience in utility field operations and/or directly supporting field operations.

  • Proven record of successful teamwork with corporate support organizations (SCM, AFT, TO, SCS, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to get technical work done through others

  • Knowledge of sophisticated business intelligence tools like Power BI and Tableau. Ability to manage connections/integrations with numerous otherwise disconnected systems.

  • Knowledge of CAMP and other Key Financial Applications

  • GIS and Customer Information System knowledge a plus

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking skills - must have the ability to effectively communicate at all levels

  • Innovative mindset with proven process improvement experience

  • Understanding of remote sensing technologies like satellite imagery and LiDAR.

Job Summary

This position will perform accounting and analytical tasks in support of service company billing as well as financial and regulatory reporting. This position is open to remote applicants.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Support the monthly financial close process.

  • Prepare and assist with the review of monthly and quarterly journal entries, account analyses, and account reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Ensure all accounting transactions are thoroughly documented, meet a standard of re-performance, and can be easily followed.

  • Coordinate, develop, and review responses to internal and external data or regulatory requests.

- Intradepartmental communication skills (verbal and written)

- Minimum of 5 years overall nuclear power plant experience required with 5 years in a work scheduling role strongly desired. Possess at least three years exempt plant maintenance, scheduling, planning, or work management experience.

- Experience with ESOMs & Maximo desired

- Significant experience and knowledge with Primavera P6 strongly preferred

Location: Lithia Springs, GA

Job Summary

The Transmission Area Desk Operators at the Transmission Control Center (TCC) provide Safe and Reliable operation of the Georgia Integrated Transmission System (ITS) in real-time in accordance with the NERC Reliability Standards and other established guidelines and procedures. This Transmission Area Desk Operator role directs real-time operations for an assigned area of the state including daily switching to establish safe clearances for construction and maintenance activities, monitoring system alarms for loading, outages, or equipment issues, maintaining system voltages at reliable levels, and responding to system events to isolate faults and restore service to customers. The Transmission Area Desk Operator is also responsible for notifying affected stakeholders during system events and for directing field employees in performing switching operations during routine and emergency conditions. The TCC team provides 24x7 operations 365 days per year. The Transmission Area Desk Operator will work on a rotating shift which will include day, night, holiday, and weekend shifts during the year. The Transmission Area Desk Operator will be required to work outside their normal shift hours during call outs, emergencies and severe weather events.

The successful candidates will gain extensive knowledge of the power system and the daily application of power engineering concepts working in a high-performance team environment. The training and experience received will prepare them for NERC Certification and a rewarding career in Transmission Operations. The successful candidates will also build strong working relationships throughout Power Delivery, Generation and other cross-functional areas, as well as with the Georgia ITS, renewable resources, and other utilities and power system stakeholders. The successful candidates will gain experience in power system monitoring and control applications and will develop excellent teamwork, problem solving, decision making and communication skills.

The successful candidates will enter a structured, six-month training program to develop the knowledge and skills required to assume shift operations. The training includes classroom training, computer simulation, and OJT with experienced operators. Evening and weekend study is required to meet learning objectives and pass assessments. Formal training will also be provided to prepare for NERC Transmission Operator Certification, which is a requirement for continued employment

Insider Threat Program Applies: Position falls under the company's Insider Threat Program and will have access and control over sensitive systems. Enhanced screening including background, drug screen, and psychological assessment, is required if you are selected. Candidate must live within a commutable distance of Lithia Springs or be willing to relocate. Relocation assistance will be considered depending on circumstances. This role requires occasional travel and overnight stays (<5 times per year). This position will be filled at exempt level 3E, 4E, 5E or 6E, depending on the knowledge, skills, and experience of the successful candidate.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

  • High School degree required. A college/technical degree and/or previous power experience are beneficial due to thetechnical requirements of the role

  • Engineering or other degree programs or certifications involving electric power systems, are a plus

  • Electric Power Utility experience, specifically in Power Generation, Transmission, Distribution, Engineering or Construction of Transmission Lines and Substations is preferred

  • Experience as an operator (in a control room environment) or rotating shifts is a plus

  • Knowledge of electrical systems operations, equipment, procedures, and switching is a plus

  • NERC Transmission Operator Certification and/or Georgia Integrated Transmission Systems (ITS) "Redbook" knowledge is a plus

Other Requirements

  • Work a 24x7 rotating shift position - working 12-hour shifts including days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor degree preferred

Work Experience

  • Strong knowledge of Capital and O&M budgets and financial valuations especially in relation to Materials Management and Materials Accounting preferred

Summary

Perform mechanical maintenance activities on electric generating units and balance of plant systems to ensure safe and reliable operation. Maintenance activities include preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, planned and unplanned corrective maintenance on both safety-related and non-safety-related components.

Normal work schedule is Monday - Friday from 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM.

This posting is for Senior Radiation Protection Technician level personnel for an initial Radiation Protection Department that require accomplished RP experience, skills and must meet at a minimum 3.1 ANSI requirements. Two years of Radiation Protection related work experience (4000 hours over a minimum of 80 weeks, 1 year of nuclear power plant experience) is required. In addition they must be able to pass the EEI Technical Occupations Selection System Test.

Summary of Position Duties:

As a Radiation Protection Technician at Plant Vogtle, near Augusta, GA you will help ensure the occupational radiation safety of plant workers and provide technical support to the Radiation Protection Department through the following:

  • Monitoring Radiation Controlled Areas on a regularly scheduled basis using fixed and portable survey instruments to evaluate contamination and airborne radiation levels and to assist in establishing dose rates for job coverage

  • Storing, issuing, and testing of respiratory protection equipment

  • Assisting in or becoming lead for repair and calibration of fixed and portable radiation survey instruments when required

  • Providing Radiation Protection coverage to plant operations and maintenance personnel to ensure safe radiological practices

  • Providing radiological evaluation of area decontamination activity

  • Preparing Radiation Work Permits

  • Providing support to Vogtle Plant Dosimetry Program, as needed

  • Providing support for radioactive waste shipments as required.

  • Implementing the process control program as required.

  • Reviewing work packages, projecting exposure for job, evaluating need for shielding, and briefing with technicians and workers on work activities

  • Performing ALARA job reviews and maintaining a job history file for ALARA packages

  • Tracking ALARA suggestions, reviewing and taking necessary action

  • Pursuing methods for improving the ALARA program's performance and efficiency and to increase the awareness of all plant groups of this Program.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in a technical radiation protection program

* THIS IS AN ABOVE GROUND POSITION

Entry level position responsible for completing a variety of tasks in support of field operations to include deactivation of service, delayed match, corrosion inspections, meter paints, reading meters and assisting with other maintenance activities as needed. Serves as a member of a crew engaged in installing, maintaining, and repairing gas mains and service lines. Performs basic tasks including operating heavy equipment, using hand tools, basic leak investigation, assisting in mechanical joining, landscape maintenance and traffic control. Performs meter reading, ERT installations and ERT programming in conjunction Automated Meter Reading duties. This is a bargaining unit position (IBEW Local 1997). This position will have an automatic progression pursuant to the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Efficiently works a route to complete customer and compliance orders in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies and procedures and operator qualifications procedures.

  • Observes all safety requirements and regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance.

  • Actively and accurately captures documentation in the Mobile Data Terminal and recognizes abnormal operating conditions such as corrosion, meters under stress, etc.

  • Assists in connecting and disconnecting gas service, manually turning meters on and off.

  • Assists in conducting investigations of high bill complaints, stop meters and special readings by meter reading validation.

  • Assists in performing regular meter inspections, paints and maintenance of above and below ground gas systems.

  • Responds to questions from customers and provides answers directly or by referral.

  • Provide assistance with all distribution activities involved with the installation, repair and maintenance of the distribution system to include:

  • Operating basic equipment and tools

  • Traffic control

  • Landscaping and general maintenance

  • Digging, shoring, repairing leaks, testing and wrapping pipes

  • Uses a variety of tools (hand, air, shovels, etc.) while performing distribution crew activities.

Job Summary

Components Engineers serve as the owners of assigned component(s), acting as the station's focal point to increase component reliability and performance, reduce operating and maintenance costs, and maintain compliance with the plant design basis and regulatory requirements. The specific assignments are in the areas of

  • Valves (Motor-operated, check, and relief)

  • Snubbers

  • Motors/Motor Testing

  • Electrical Components (including protective relays, switches [hand, level, flow, pressure], distribution transformers, battery chargers, inverters, UPS, and emergency lights)

  • Oil Analysis/Tribology

Engineers at Southern Nuclear may have opportunities to manage special projects. Also, engineers typically take key refueling outage assignments. Engineering assignments typically include on-call duty engineer and emergency plan response requirements.

Educational Requirements

  • BS in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution required

  • Electrical Engineer or Mechanical Engineer preferred

Background/Experience Requirements:

This position will report to the Plant Scherer Outage Planning Team Leader and will be responsible for working closely with the Plant System Owners and Engineers to accomplish planning, estimating, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance activities on plant equipment during planned outages.   • Develop outage project schedules for input into Primavera P6.

  • Perform outage schedule reviews with Project Leads.

  • Develop, forecast & track outage reports (pre-outage milestones, post-outage metrics and outage critiques)

  • Ensure sound communication of outage planning goals at the plant.

JOB SUMMARY

The Apprentice Rotating Equipment Repairman (i.e. Electric Motor Winder) is a training position to develop the knowledge and skills a Journeyman Rotating Equipment Repairman will need to perform their job safely and competently. This position is located at the Repair Shop facility in Forest Park, GA. However, on occasion, you will be expected to travel to other work locations to repair equipment on-site.

An Apprentice Rotating Equipment Repairman (i.e. Electric Motor Winder) will work alongside a Journeyman Rotating Equipment Repairman at the Repair Shop to develop and complete tasks associated with the Journeyman Development program to repair and recondition motors and generators. Duties include but are not limited to: disassemble, clean and inspect, rewind, balance of rotating assemblies, assemble, and paint. Related activities include the general usage of hand tools along with operating equipment such as mobile and overhead cranes, forklifts, steam cleaner, paint sprayer, pneumatic tools, ovens, end- turn cut-off saw, VPI tank, and balance machines.

Candidates must be able to support a 24/7 work schedule (shift work) including holidays, weekends, and overtime when necessary. Must be willing to work various shifts, generally day or evening shifts. Subject to callout overtime situations.

Work environment may include working in adverse conditions such as poor weather and hot/cold temperatures, at elevated heights, or in compartments with restricted space.

The starting salary will be based upon the conditions of the Memorandum of Agreement Wage Schedule between Georgia Power and IBEW Local Union Number 84.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must successfully qualify on the Post Offer Employment Test by demonstrating ability to complete certain physical tasks.

TRAINING

Apprentice Rotating Equipment Repairmen (i.e. Electric Motor Winder) will undergo an extensive training program through the Repair Shop Journeyman Development Program, which includes on-the-job training with classroom training. The training program lasts 4 1/2 years. Upon successful completion of the Repair Shop Journeyman Development Program the employee will be promoted to a Journeyman Rotating Equipment Repairman position through automatic progression.
