Description
Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to handle complex customer questions, complaints, and billing inquiries with the highest degree of courtesy and professionalism to resolve customer issues with one call resolution within multi-jurisdictional and multi-functional customer contact teams in support of Southern Company Gas regulated and deregulated utilities. The incumbent works in a high volume, fast paced, and multi-tasking environment, takes ownership of commercial and residential customer requests for service via telephone, online chat, fax and email. The incumbent for this role is responsible for service delivery and offers alternative solutions where appropriate with the objective of retaining customer's business and serves a customer population of more than 4 million customers. Their responsibilities include business transactions in connection with activation of new customer accounts, processing emergency/priority orders, communication to customers using web-based tools, and making financial decisions to protect/collect revenues and adjusts customer accounts. Incumbents are responsible for regulatory and budget compliance and compliance with work policy, practices, and procedures. Incumbents assist in training and coaching new employees.
Functional Expertise:
Address emergency concerns, miscellaneous customer service and general information calls via the phone, email or internet.
Effectively transfer misdirected customer requests to an appropriate department.
Offer solutions and solve problems that are sometimes unstructured and that may require reliance on conceptual thinking.
Prepare field orders (e.g., turn-ons, turn-offs, leaks and no gases, transfers, meter sets and removals); updates and maintains customer account information.
Determine documentation requirements; review and maintain hard copies when necessary.
Provide information related to outside assistance and other options.
Respond to service policy, rate questions, and billing inquiries.
Answer complex credit and billing inquiries, investigate high bills, analyze customer credit status, quote amount due, authorize extensions, and make arrangements for payment of past due bills, final bills, and returned checks.
Coordinate work requests with appropriate departments and service centers; informs customers of actions taken.
Perform accounting functions related to orders, adjustments, and corrections.
Report service disruptions (vendor, process, systems.
Adhere to established policy, procedure and quality standards within service standards or metrics for work performed.
Track related work activity for business process reporting & workload management.
Business Acumen:
Maybe required to work in one or multiple ques/skill sets (customer service/emergency) over various customer contact channels.
Responsible for improving customer retention through programs and service provided to the customer.

Pressure Control Technician I
Description
Basic Function:
Member of a team responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, and maintaining the Company's Statewide regulator and gate stations. Assists with the inspection and maintenance of Statewide emergency valves.
Representative Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in conducting annual inspections of regulator stations.
- Assists in flow interruptions, blow downs and purging for ongoing capital improvements.
- Performs leak testing of regulator stations.
- Assists with the startup of new stations.
- Supports local service centers during internal and external operations audits.
- Assists with troubleshooting procedures on large meter sets for AGL customers.
Education and Experience Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3-5 years in gas distribution operations

Skills Required:
- Must possess and demonstrate mechanical aptitude with emphasis on regulators, relief valves, and valves.
- Must have good working knowledge of various hand tools and their uses.
- Must have computer skills for working in (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Within 12 months of job entry must pass the Pressure Control Tech I examination and be able to:
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of regulators.
- Identify types of direct operated and pilot operated regulators.
- Identify types of commonly used valves.
- Explain basic concepts of regulator station orientation.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of pressure system classes: Low Pressure (LP), Medium Pressure (MP), and HP Pressure (HP).

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Apprenticeship Program BasicsThe Apprenticeship Program is a four-month course. Each month the candidate will ride and work with an advanced level technician for two to four weeks of the month. One to two weeks per month (two weeks in the first and fourth months), there will be training classes held in Ball Ground, Georgia (travel expenses paid by the Company). There will be reading assignments and homework to coincide with the topics covered at each monthly class. Apprentices will be tested at each class with a written exam as well as troubleshooting evaluations.
Upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship Program and demonstration of your skills in the field, you will become a Preventive Maintenance Generator Technician for PowerSecure Service.
PLEASE NOTE THE NEXT APPRENTICESHIP CLASS BEGINS IN EARLY JULY 2022.
Locations
We are looking for Apprentice candidates in New Jersey, Washington DC, Raleigh NC, Fayetteville NC, Greenville NC, Charlotte NC, South Atlanta, Lake City FL, Orlando FL, Birmingham AL, Radcliff KY, Corbin KY, Denver CO and San Antonio TX.
We are also looking for candidates who live in, or are interested in relocating to Richmond VA, but are willing to work in a different location for 5-12 months while they complete the apprenticeship program. We have a number of locations available for this option, so please apply and we can discuss.

Physical Demands
Tasks require the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work. Physical Activity: 85% physical activity required on customer site working with equipment, 15% form completion, email, other administrative tasks and completing technical support activities by way of telephone and computer communication.
May involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-75 pounds).
Frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to use hands, to touch, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.

Description
We are seeking a highly motivated, conscientious, and trustworthy individual to join our team as Custodian/Janitor, responsible for cleaning our Ball Ground facility 3-5 times a week, ensuring the building is safe, clean, and ready for operations.
Janitorial cart, trash collection can, cleaning tools/equipment and all cleaning supplies provided.
Approximately 15,000 sq. ft. of facility to be cleaned., consisting of offices, cubicles, 7 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, conference areas, front lobby, and some smaller warehouse areas.
Requires sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash collection, cleaning toilets, sinks and kitchen, restocking supplies, etc.
Flexible work schedule-start after 5pm weekdays and anytime Saturday/Sunday.
Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Able to work nights and weekends (see work schedule above).
Proven working experience as a custodian/janitor in a similar setting.
Knowledge of use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and appliances.
Knowledge of safe use and disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components.
Able to lift 50 pounds, stand or walk for extended periods of time, bend and stoop.
Able to pass a drug screen and background check.
Must have reliable transportation.

Gas Confirmation Specialist I
Description
The purpose of this position is to ensure that the appropriate nominated gas volumes are confirmed and scheduled with both the supplying pipelines and the Southern Company gas utilities. This includes confirming, scheduling, tracking and reporting the flow of natural gas, primarily between the pipeline and the local distribution companies.
This position may be filled as Associate Gas Confirmation (GSN1 - 06) or Gas Confirmation Specialist (GSN1 - 07). Individuals who demonstrate advanced skills in terms of work experience, education, and certifications may be eligible for the more advanced position.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES BY COMPETENCY
Functional Expertise:
Utilize Company and pipeline EBBs to review nominated volumes and determine volumes that should be confirmed and scheduled for both Southern Company Gas and Nicor utilities.
Use applicable business rules to evaluate what volumes should flow when volumes do not match between Company and pipeline companies.
Assist in finalizing supply/consumption volumes mid-month/end of month and posting alerts associated with trading periods.
Provide customer service to marketers as needed after hours and weekends.
Business Acumen:
Have a working knowledge of the operating characteristics of the assets being nominated by the shippers.
Review final volume reports to verify that the supply volumes were scheduled accurately and completely.
Engagement:
Collaborates with pipeline scheduling groups, as well as shippers to effectively resolve nomination/scheduling issues.
Communicates final scheduled volumes along with any specific supply issues with Gas Control and others as required. This is done for each of the five scheduling cycles each day.
Discusses operating system issues with the IT support group and IT security personnel as required.
Driving Results:
Conduct daily activities in a way that ensures processes are followed for consistent results.
Create action plans that fill gaps in processes where adjustments need to be made.

JOB SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for the inventory management of over $16 million of telecommunications inventory for the Technology Organization (TO), system wide. Provide the appropriate replenishment analysis at 37 stocking locations in multiple states across the Southern Company territory ensuring the appropriate supply of inventory is on hand for capital projects and for the emergency restoration of the TO infrastructure. Coordinate and provide oversight of all materials management and logistics to include procurement, shipping, receiving, stocking and tracking of inventory as well as the investment recovery of decommissioned assets at the telecom materials distribution center (TMDC) located in Forest Park, GA. Ensure proper compliance and documentation as it relates to inventory management in accordance with SCS and SCM policies and procedures. Generate monthly reports in support of company accounting requirements. Interact with internal and external partners/customers, outside suppliers, vendors and repair facilities to oversee the accuracy of purchasing, pricing, delivery and service requests for inventory/equipment. Coordinate the Return Authorization process for telecommunications equipment being repaired or replaced. Provide analysis that tracks the failure rate of critical telecommunications equipment during a defined period. Provide the appropriate analysis on when parts are replaced under warranty or repaired versus the purchase of new equipment. Coordinate with TO on new and changing product lines.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory management to include inventory analysis, processing material requests, transfers, issues, returns, and purchase order transactions using MAXIMO.
Perform inventory maintenance and audits at 37 satellite locations across the Southern Company footprint.
Invoice Reconciler for all SCM Oakbrook Telecom invoices.
Manage RMA process for all TO defective items.
Must participate in After Hours On Call rotation for the Oakbrook Telecom Warehouse.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education

JOB SUMMARY
This engineer will be responsible for engineering related activities associated with a power generating plant. This position is responsible for providing plant technical support, developing long term plans and budgets to maintain and improve equipment performance. The project engineer will manage capital and O&M projects by following prescribed procedures to develop design options and/or recommendations for system and equipment improvement initiatives. The successful candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills to work with plant personnel, Southern Company Services (SCS), vendors, and a wide range of contractors to ensure successful completion of assigned projects.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide outage/project management, project budget management, long term maintenance strategies and technical support to the plant
Develop 5- & 10-year capital budgets and justification for associated capital projects
Utilize computer business tools to develop and justify budgets, write work orders, order material, develop project schedules, and monitor equipment.
Initiate, troubleshoot and review root cause analyses for system equipment failures
Work with Southern Company Services, OEM's and system owners at other plants to stay current of any upgrades or concerns that affect the plant and communicate these needs to plant management, corporate management, and peer groups.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education
B.S. in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution is required
B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering preferred, but willing to consider other engineering disciplines

Experience

Obtain an AD/50.59 safety evaluation qualification
Qualify and participate in the Emergency Response Organization (ERO).
Complete other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
B.S. degree or higher in an applied science or physical science discipline
Two years of experience in chemistry including one year of radiochemistry experience
Or
-A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university OR an active PE license is required (focus in Chemical Engineering is preferable).
-Experience working in a nuclear power plant setting is desirable
-Additional experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: preparation of engineering evaluations, preparation of engineering studies for power generating facilities, preparation of engineering calculations, project management, and technical support of both maintenance and engineering organizations in the resolution of chemistry system issues.
-Working knowledge of technical codes including ANSI standards and regulatory requirements desired.
-Good analytical abilities

Knowledge to work with vendors and service suppliers on procurement, repair, or resolution of chemistry system problems
Familiarity with the INPO Systematic Approach to Training (SAT)
-A strong technical background in engineering, and working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements related to nuclear power generating facilities.
-An ability to solve problems and make sound engineering judgments, based on experience and proper application of industry practices, to provide timely and appropriate resolutions to chemistry system issues that might impact plant operation or safety.
-A basic knowledge of design basis configuration management, project management and the design modification process.
-The expertise to address operational, maintenance, and reliability issues for chemistry systems.
-The ability to develop long range plans to ensure reliable and economic operation and maintenance of plant equipment.
-The ability to implement and/or maintain component reliability programs for the SNC fleet of plants.
-The experience and knowledge to technically interface with vendors and service suppliers on procurement, repairing, or resolving plant chemistry system problems
