Southern Nuclear, a subsidiary of Southern Company, manages and operates six nuclear power electric generating plants that provide approximately 20 percent of the electricity used in Alabama and Georgia. Southern Nuclear is leading the nuclear renaissance by building the first new U.S. nuclear reactors in more than 25 years. When completed, the two Westinghouse AP1000 reactors currently under construction at Plant Vogtle will make the facility the largest in the U.S. with four reactors on one site. The Nuclear Chemist/ Chemistry Support Engineer will report to the Chemistry Shift Operations Superintendent and will have the following responsibilities:
Develop and revise processes and procedures in the areas of radioisotope Counting Room activities, diesel fuel oil sampling and analysis, and Primary and Secondary Chemistry procedures.
Serve as the sampling system and lab instrumentation expert on selected systems, including troubleshooting and vendor interface
Assist with Nuclear IQ data management applications
Implement Radiological Effluent Technical Specifications
Prepare and update the annual Radiological Effluent Release Report
Conduct observations of technician training and conducts on-the-job training and task-performance evaluations of trainees
Maintain the Primary, Secondary, and Closed Water Strategic Plans and subsequent revisions to ensure compliance with Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) guidelines
Initiate environmental monitoring reports
Administer the chemical treatment and chemistry control of the closed cycle cooling water systems
Prepare material and services purchase orders and act as purchasing representative for the Chemistry Department
Participate in Corrective Action Program and coordinator duties
Monitor the meteorological tower data and prepare the annual report
Provides oversight for the REMP, groundwater and sewage treatment plant operations and reporting
Assume Subject Matter Expert duties for selected laboratory systems
performing engineering troubleshooting
reviewing design changes and acting as the chemistry Design Change lead for chemistry systems
reviewing vendor products and serving as Task Director / Contract Administrator for vendors and/or contractors
Providing technical recommendations and Long-Range Planning for assigned Chemistry
Obtain an AD/50.59 safety evaluation qualification
Qualify and participate in the Emergency Response Organization (ERO).
Complete other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
B.S. degree or higher in an applied science or physical science discipline
Two years of experience in chemistry including one year of radiochemistry experience
Or
-A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university OR an active PE license is required (focus in Chemical Engineering is preferable).
-Experience working in a nuclear power plant setting is desirable
-Additional experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: preparation of engineering evaluations, preparation of engineering studies for power generating facilities, preparation of engineering calculations, project management, and technical support of both maintenance and engineering organizations in the resolution of chemistry system issues.
-Working knowledge of technical codes including ANSI standards and regulatory requirements desired.

-The ability to develop long range plans to ensure reliable and economic operation and maintenance of plant equipment.

-The experience and knowledge to technically interface with vendors and service suppliers on procurement, repairing, or resolving plant chemistry system problems

This position will report to the manager of financial planning and analysis.

-Provides monthly variance reporting, trending, projections, presentations, and adhoc analysis to support FP&A leadership and the business leaders of the supported organizations.

Purpose:
This position will be filled in the Data Analytics & Reporting team within Technology Services. Key responsibilities as a member of the team include detailed data analysis, data modeling and requirements mapping, ETL design and development, analysis cube development, and BI solution development including presentation layer delivery. This position also works closely with Data Architects within the organization to ensure that new analytics solutions align with the enterprise data management strategy. This includes identification of the true source of data, reducing data redundancy and focus on increased integration of data across business units. Additional requirements of this position include consulting with partners on their business needs, translating business needs into analytics/reporting requirements, and interfacing with the partners and other IT team members to build custom business intelligence solutions. Description
Business Intelligence Developer
Purpose:
This position will be filled in the Data Analytics & Reporting team within Technology Services. Key responsibilities as a member of the team include detailed data analysis, data modeling and requirements mapping, ETL design and development, analysis cube development, and BI solution development including presentation layer delivery. This position also works closely with Data Architects within the organization to ensure that new analytics solutions align with the enterprise data management strategy. JOB SUMMARY
The Tool Repair Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing various small tools used by generating plants and power delivery headquarters. The technician in this position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and performing preventative maintenance on a wide variety of battery-operated, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical tools, also to include small engines, and test equipment. Other duties include data entry, inventory management, and basic computer skills. This position is located at the Central Tool Shop facility in Forest Park, GA. However, on occasion, you will be expected to travel to other work locations to repair tools on-site.
Candidates must be able to support a 24/7 work schedule including holidays and overtime when necessary. Must be willing to work various shifts as needed, but generally days. Subject to callout overtime situations.
The starting salary will be based upon the conditions of the Memorandum of Agreement Wage Schedule between Georgia Power and IBEW Local Union Number 84.

Description
The purpose of the Account Specialist I position is to provide support to billing services for Nicor Gas' Gas Transportation accounts and multiple GAS companies (both regulated and non-regulated). Description
The Modeling and Engineering Support engineer/specialist/analyst position will serve within Power Delivery Operations Support on the Modeling & Engineering Support (MES) team.
MES is responsible for updating and maintaining the control systems that operators use to safely monitor and operate the electric grid. These systems consist of the Siemens Spectrum and GE e-terra energy management systems which portray real-time system configurations. MES provides continuous support to its internal and external customers to accurately update the system models as changes are made in the field. Updates include but are not limited to adding/retiring equipment, relay modernizations, ratings changes, updating communication devices, ad hoc requests to enhance displays and troubleshooting abnormalities.
This position is primarily responsible for a variety of tasks associated with maintaining the transmission system - including customer coordination, database management and maintaining or creating system displays utilized by operators to monitor and control the transmission system. This position will also provide support of modeling and engineering tasks associated with the distribution system as needed.

Storage and Peaking Operation Supervisor
Description
This role supports daily operations of West Region Transmission and underground natural gas storage facilities in Illinois. The position will have a primary reporting location of Pecatonica Storage (Pecatonica, IL) but will interact and be accountable for Storage Operations support throughout the Illinois footprint. This supervisory role will have responsibilities managing union direct reports. This position will develop and execute daily maintenance/work plans to maintain safety practices, system integrity and reliability while adhering to operational and capital budgets. Duties will include station and field operation responsibilities in potential high stress environments. 24/7 on call requirements, including overnight stays during critical/peaking operations.
This position may be filled as a level GSCO - 05 or GSCO - 06. Individuals who demonstrate advanced skills in terms of work experience, education, and certifications may be eligible for the more advanced position.
Functional Expertise:
- Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and facilities needed to meet daily system and commercial needs.
- Develop and coordinate annual operating and capital projects and develop budget needs for field personnel, contractors, and others to complete all operational and maintenance tasks required.
- Communicates regularly with Gas Control, Gas Supply, other operating facilities, and/or other internal business units.
- Develop work plans, schedules and monitors all code compliance work (Tap stations, Storage field, valves, reliefs, wells, regulators, etc.) to insure all are completed within regulatory guidelines.

Leads a team of 6 Fleet Supervisors who together oversee a staff of approximately 50 mechanics and administrative personnel ans is focused on team leadership, employee development and setting and promoting culture.
Fosters a culture of safety through the active support of the Fleet Safety Committee; encourages an employee led safety culture as well ensures safe work practices and procedures. Focuses on continuous improvement by contributing to and supporting diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, employee training, vehicle and process standardization, and sustainability efforts.
Provides direction for the efficient delivery of preventive maintenance, repairs and compliance related inspections (DOT, OSHA, ANSI, etc.) of Company vehicles and equipment.
Works closely with Power Delivery, Generation and other internal fleet customers to provide superior customer service, focused on safety, vehicle & equipment reliability and sustainability.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and upgrading operating systems, network and hardware as needed.
Successful candidate must attend and pass site engineering training program for SNC engineering personnel. The engineer will develop telecommunications system change packages (MDC - Minor Design Changes) under plant engineering approval.
The engineer will actively attend plant system and IT design meetings and will serve on the project implementation teams.
Strong background in telecommunications, transport, infrastructure operations and vendors is a plus.
The engineer will be responsible for strategic and tactical plans and engineering designs for facilities at Hatch including data and voice communications equipment; WLANS, servers, switches, hubs, firewalls, PBXs, paging, and radio systems.

JOB SUMMARY
Incumbents for this position are those who possess high technical expertise, advanced knowledge in a particular application, technology field, high demand specialty or highly complex business area. Vogtle 3&4 is seeking an experienced Program Engineer responsible for Preservice / Inservice Testing (PST/IST), nonregulatory valve programs (Check Valve and Relief Valves), and Appendix J (Containment Leak Rate Testing).
Program Engineers act as the site lead on development and implementation of the requirements applicable to their assigned programs, and aid in the troubleshooting or complex problem solving of issues within their expertise.
Prior to plant operation, responsibilities include ensuring regulatory and code required testing is performed or credited through the Initial Test Program activities, maintaining and issuing revisions to the PST and IST Program documents, and working with ITP and Operations to resolve issues with associated testing.
After Plant Operation, responsibilities include ensuring program required activities are scheduled according to site procedures for outages, assisting in program readiness and challenge meetings, and leveraging resources across the organization to continuously improve program performance.
Educational requirements:
BS in Engineering from an ABET accredited program required
Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license or certification is a plus
