Join Serco as a Heavy Diesel Fleet Mechanic II in Colorado Springs, CO!
This position is contingent upon your ability to pass a preemployment criminal history check and drug screen.
Serco supports a large municipal and utility fleet (4,000+ units) performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repair of a diverse equipment set (light, medium and heavy duty diesel/gas cars/trucks; off-road construction equipment, snow plows, ATVs, Motorcycles, Generators, VAC trucks, and ancillary equipment). You will be part of a team that has been voted one of the best 10 service companies to work for in the United States for the last 5 years!
In this role, you will:
Perform operational and functional inspections, repairs and maintenance on large diesel powered fleet vehicles and various construction equipment
Ability to work on a diverse equipment set, which includes mowers, cranes, backhoes, trailers, vactor units, directional drills, trenchers, bulldozers, excavators, wood chippers, asphalt laying equipment, diggers and pole setting equipment, aerial manlifts, cranes, medium and heavy trucks and mounted/non-mounted attachments.
Operate and perform diagnosis on equipment, maintain and repair hydraulic systems, route and replaces hydraulic lines, check system for leaks and proper operation.
Perform diagnosis and repair of complex electrical systems.
Perform welding repairs when required
Perform routine vehicle and equipment preventive maintenance inspections, DOT inspections and replace fluids, checks lights and other electrical system components, etc.
Provide clear and accurate information when entering work order data into a fleet maintenance system.
A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Work under general supervision and is a self-starter.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will have:
At least 4 - 6 years of related experience
Advanced electrical system troubleshooting and repair ability
Advanced hydraulic system troubleshooting and repair ability
High school diploma or its equivalent
Basic Windows System and Microsoft Office Knowledge
Must be able to effectively communicate with customers
Must possess necessary skills to operate and interpret diagnostic equipment
Candidates must provide common technician hand tools
Additional desired experience and skills:
Diesel vocational/technical school certifications
ASE Certifications preferred or capable of gaining certifications within 12 months of hire
2 to 4 years' experience on Vactor systems and directional drills
Combination of Cummins, CAT, International, Allison, Vermeer, Sweeper, Ford, GM, etc. training/certification and/or 4 to 6 years of experience
Welding Certification and/or 3 to 5 years of experience

You will be a part of a nice size team that works closely with our Customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality systems. Bernerd Zwahlen has led this team for more than 5 years; he possesses 20 years of experience supporting shipyard modernization; and is a Navy veteran. This team has been recognized by the Navy and the industry for their outstanding contributions to the contract and program.
The Military Analyst will assist in the development of a transition plan for PMS 407 to assume management of MCS procurement from Ships GEM and will support Government Lead in the execution of the plan
In this role, you will:
Conduct analytical studies of DDG 1000 ship repair and modernization operations and uses a rational basis for decision making or resource allocation.
Under supervision of the government customer, tracks metrics on the quality of programs and documents.
Operate in multinational, interagency, joint, and service unique environments.
Maintain extensive Microsoft Excel files for each DDG 1000 shipyard availability.
Apply operational background, as well as academic understanding of analytic theory and principles to assist in solving current and/or future mission needs or to correct problem areas.
Assist in preparing or coordinating the preparation of Microsoft Office based products as required.
Participate in working groups, program development forums, analytical activities, readiness exercises, training, education, and other forums as required to accomplish contract requirements.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
An Active DoD Govt Issued Secret Clearance is required.
A Bachelor's degree plus 5 - 7 years directly relevant work experience is required.
In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 10 years applicable work experience.
Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.

Operate automotive, construction and material handling equipment, hydraulic systems, aerial platform inspection and repair.
Inspect, diagnose, and repair bucket truck and digger derrick hydraulic systems.
Perform engine, electrical and drivability diagnostics/repair.

Qualifications

Prepare reports for Program Managers and higher level personnel, describing problems that are recurring or causing significant delays or costs, the corrective actions taken, and the need for additional time or resources needed to meet recruiting objectives
Obtain workload data and track progress in meeting objectives and use of resources via web-based Navy applications and other commercially available web-based programs
Qualifications

In this role, you will:
Teaching and/or instructing Military personnel transition to civilian professional and vocational occupations.
Guide the transitioning Military Servicemembers in identifying goals while also assisting them with recognizing any employment or education gaps.
Organize and able to manage an office.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A High School Diploma.
Must have 3 years of experience as a professional trainer or facilitator.

Previous experience as a classroom instructor.
Knowledgeable of the workplace, jobs, and requirement for entry into those jobs.
Demonstrated ability to provide training to groups with up to 50 participants: individual career counseling experience.

Receive inbound materials and updates Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) databases containing tracking information to include pricing and part numbers.
Populate required DoD documentation for shipping & receiving activities.
Coordinate with Serco procurements and acquisition analyst team for inbound shipment planning.
Facilitate final delivery to end user customers at NAVO facilities.
Prepare related reports and documentation per NAVO customer request.
Responsible for managing an offsite warehouse and tracking movement of inventory.
Verify shipping records on incoming and outgoing shipments with bills, invoices, or other records.
Verify materials received are as ordered in relation to quantity and part number.

Qualifications
To be successful in the role, you will have:
Bachelor's Degree and 10 Years of relevant experience in a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience and at least 5-7 years related experience preferably in a warehouse/logistics environment. (In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 7 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by-market survey data.)
A Secret level security clearance is required at the beginning of employment.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion is required.
Knowledge of the practices, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements involved in Navy logistics.

Position Description

Assist in producing and/or reviewing documents for program office use toward supporting the breadth of acquisition and sustainment logistics efforts

Prepare briefings as necessary in support of Government informational and decision meetings

Serco offers internship opportunities across the following three career tracks: Business, Technical, and Engineering. You will work with your manager to identify the best working schedule for you - working no more than an average of 36 hours a week with the added perk of half-days on Fridays.

Position Description
As the Business Analysis Intern, you will support the Intellectual Property Services (IPS) program, which performs highly technical patent analysis services to a variety of customers, primarily the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The IPS program is comprised of Scientists and Engineers who analyze new and existing patent documents and provide services related to the description of content within those documents. Primary service areas are Patent Classification, Patent Re-Classification, and Patent Search.
Your internship experience will focus on business operations concepts within the environment, with particular emphasis in new business growth accommodation, IT infrastructure transition, analysis and potential project plan creation of facility transition, and other related operational aspects. The position will require quickly understanding operational nuances presented within multiple lines of business. Identification of associated challenges will follow with suggested improvement areas to address these challenges as the final project output.

Research program requirements to understand operational environment.
Conduct interviews of program staff to understand challenges.
Consult with IPS Leadership Team to confirm understanding.
Vet solutions with various program entities and adjust planning based on feedback.

Air Traffic Control Specialists (ATCS) control air traffic on and within the vicinity of the airport according to established procedures and policies to prevent collisions and minimize delays arising from traffic congestion. They are responsible for the safe, orderly and expeditious movement of air traffic through the nation's airspace. ATCS duties include:
Answering radio calls from arriving and departing aircraft.
Issuing landing/takeoff instructions.
Issuing information such as runway to use, wind velocity and direction, visibility, taxiing instructions, and pertinent data on other aircraft operating in vicinity.
Issuing air traffic clearances.
Providing advice based on their own observations and information from the National Weather - Service, IFR control facilities, flight service stations, pilots, and other sources.
Taking and disseminating weather observations at Limited Aviation Weather Reporting Station (LAWRS) or Supplemental Aviation Weather Reporting Station (SAWRS) facilities.
Transferring control to receiving facilities when aircraft leave their airspace and receiving control of aircraft coming into their airspace.
Operating various types of equipment such as: radios, telephones, interphones, computer systems, radar, recording systems, weather equipment, light guns, airport/runway lighting systems, and backup equipment.
Alerting airport emergency crews and other designated personnel when aircraft are having flight difficulties.
Coordinating with and issuing instructions to airport vehicles and personnel.
Maintaining and disseminating records of daily operations

As the Logistics Analyst, you will perform complex logistics activities in support of the Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVO) within established procedures including data management, shipping & receiving, inventory control and supply maintenance out of the Stennis Space Center, MS location.
In this role, you will:
Receive inbound materials and updates Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) databases containing tracking information to include pricing and part numbers.
Populate required DoD documentation for shipping & receiving activities.
Coordinate with Serco procurements and acquisition analyst team for inbound shipment planning.
Facilitate final delivery to end user customers at NAVO facilities.
Prepare related reports and documentation per NAVO customer request.
Responsible for managing an offsite warehouse and tracking movement of inventory.
Verify shipping records on incoming and outgoing shipments with bills, invoices, or other records.
Verify materials received are as ordered in relation to quantity and part number.
Prepare all necessary shipment documentation, such as: Bill of Ladings, Pallet Labels, and Packing Lists.
Collect data metrics for order dates, lead time, and delivery.
Work cooperatively with cross functional teams on daily activities.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
To be successful in the role, you will have:
High School Diploma / GED in a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience and at least 5-7 years related experience preferably in a warehouse/logistics environment. (In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 7 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected bymarket survey data.)
A Secret level security clearance is required at the beginning of employment.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion is required.
Knowledge of the practices, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements involved in Navy logistics.

Position Description
JOIN OUR TEAM to assist and prepare over 200,000 Servicemen and women who separate annually from the United States Military begin a new life chapter as a civilian. Many of those who separate from the military have transition plans while others find becoming a civilian a daunting task. The Department of Labor (DOL) Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS) program requires contractor services to support these transitioning Servicemen and women through its highly successful Transition Assistance Program (TAP) that is offered world-wide to conduct job assistance workshops, employment counseling, apprenticeship program placements and employer outreach.
In this role, you will:
Teaching and/or instructing Military personnel transition to civilian professional and vocational occupations.
Guide the transitioning Military Servicemembers in identifying goals while also assisting them with recognizing any employment or education gaps.
Organize and able to manage an office.
Providing transitioning Servicemembers (Active, Reserve, National Guard), family members, and Veterans a comprehensive understanding of preparing for civilian employment, job searching, job application processes, networking, technical training opportunities, credentialing, and assistance in preparing for civilian employment and participation in technical programs and schools; and, who can conduct large group instruction and provide counseling on the job search process.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
An Associate's degree, any discipline from an accredited college or university, or at least 3 years of equivalent experience as a professional trainer or facilitator.
A High School Diploma.
Prior experience which demonstrates understanding of private and public sector employment processes.
Previous experience as a classroom instructor.
Must be knowledgeable of the workplace, jobs, and requirement for entry into those jobs.
Must demonstrate the ability to provide training to groups with up to 50 participants: individual career counseling experience.
Must be proficient in MS Windows and Office.
The ability to communicate effectively with Military clients, be comfortable instructing and speaking in front of a group, be observant of others, possess the ability to engage an audience, and respond to inquiries independently.
Must be able to travel as requested.
May require extended hours, including weekdays, weekends, and some holidays, and be willing to perform administrative functions for the office.
Must have excellent time management skills, able to work independently, and able to respond to inquiries.
