Marine Electrician II - San Diego, CA

As the, Marine Electrician II, you will work on a team supporting cabling, equipment, and C5ISR system installations. You will join, fabricate, and assemble various electromechanical and electronic assemblies by applying appropriate safety techniques and the work is performed onboard U.S. Naval Ships and military installations. This position will be based in San Diego, CA.

You will play a critical role in ensuring that successful and safe work is performed onboard U.S. Naval Ships and our Military installations which is vital to our Mission to protect and serve our Military.

As the, Marine Electrician II, you will perform the following typical tasks:

• Receive initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed; performs recurring work independently; work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions including troubleshooting and correcting malfunctions.

• Conduct various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement; selects, sets up, and operates standard test equipment and records test data.

• Perform assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed such as: Constructs components, subunits, or simple models or adapts standard equipment.

• Gather and maintains specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc.; performs computations by substituting numbers in specified formulas; plots data and draws simple curves and graphs.

• Perform simple or routine tasks or tests such as tensile or hardness tests; operates and adjusts simple test equipment; records test data.

• Rely on your experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and you will typically report to a supervisor in a safe work environment.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have the following:

• Requires a High School diploma or equivalent and3 - 5 years of AIT Installation experience.

• Have an OSHA 10 certification or able to obtain the certification

• Must be able to have the ability to work in areas with drafts, noise, and temperature variation.

• Must be able to work in high heat spaces, climb shipyard dry dock stairs/ladders, work in kneeling position for layout of cable runs under false decking, lift up to 50 pounds with 80% of work requiring carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 40 pounds for majority of shift while being in a standing, crouching, or walking position. Attention to safety critical.

• Applicant must be familiar with NAVSEA, standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of electrical repair, fabrication, and installation.

• Applicant must be able to get respirator qualified and wear proper PPE throughout their work shift.

• Applicant must be willing to work second shift and willing to work more than 40 hours work weeks.

• Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance

• Ability to travel if necessary

Join Serco in support of our Defense Service sector and Systems Integration and Installation Business Unit as a Configuration Management Specialist providing Technical Sustainment Support, Sustainment Engineering Support, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Configuration Management (CM), and System Installation and Turnover for ONE-Net ISEA. ONE-Net is a navy-wide initiative to install a common and secure IT Infrastructure to OCONUS Navy locations. It is based on Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) architecture and designed to be interoperable with IT-21, NMCI, and global information grid.

In this role, you will:

• Experience with lifecycle management (ALM and PLM)

• Experience with IT systems (software and hardware) change and configuration management desired state configuration

• Experience auditing assets ensuring usage/consumption and configuration settings for managed assets, systems, environments and services are in compliance and generate requisite reporting artifacts

• Experience implementing and maintaining processes for the management of assets/configuration items that adhere to enterprise asset and configuration management processes/policies/guidelines

• Experience working with various ITSM and CMDB tools and the necessary data and tool integrations with other systems and services

• Experience in managing, maintaining, updating, and enhancing configuration management systems across all required configuration items and their relationships to other configuration items and artifacts.

• Experience developing test strategies to include Developmental Test (DT) and Operational Tests (OT) in laboratory and field environments.

• Experience with development of evaluation requirements and associated data collection requirements

• Experience in Developing, documenting, and executing test plans, test cases, observations, analysis, incident reporting, and test reports

Our customer is tasked with developing, testing, procuring, fielding, and maintaining the FLRAA Weapon System with First Unit Equipped (FUE) scheduled for 2030.

Serco will provide Engineering, Logistics, and Acquisition and Strategic Planning Services to support of the Future Long Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) Project Management (PM) Office. The primary place of performance is Redstone Arsenal, Alabama or authorized virtual work location. Your will primarily support the Program Planning & Control (PP&C) Division.You will be joining a team of 25-40 full-time, highly experienced, and qualified acquisition, logistics and engineering professionals led and managed by Mr. Dave Schairbaum, who previously led the Air Force Combat Rescue Helicopter (CRH) development program as Program Director.

In this role, you will:

• Support mission requirements and aligned task sets by managing information exchanges with internal and external stakeholders; archive key data and information within the Project Office SharePoint knowledge management system; develop, coordinate, refine policies and procedures, directives instructions, and other communications for Government review; research and advise Government leads for areas of responsibility; and, within defined constraints, represent Operations functional leadership at meetings and conferences.

• Tasker & staff action management functions consistent with Government guidance; originate, coordinate, and assign tasker lead responsibility in the Project Office; SharePoint Task Management System (TMS); review Action Officer-generated draft taskers for completion prior to publishing tasking; officially publish taskers to subordinate organizations within the TMS; and track and report tasker status against external suspense dates.

• Synchronizing and resourcing organizational engagements and key information. Lead and assist in activities required to plan, coordinate, resource, and execute organizational events (meetings, town halls, industry days, ceremonies).

• Assist in coordinating and managing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) administration requests. All responses to FOIA shall be IAW AR 25-55 and associated policies

• Track taskers for the Project Office and coordinate with Government employees and other Contractor personnel throughout the organization to staff, draft answers, and track taskers with suspense to ensure a timely response IAW assigned suspense date. Receive, review, and assign taskers to subordinate elements

• Assist and support policy development, assist in drafting documents and making recommendations in matters related to interpretation; implementation; formulation; and evaluation of operational and administrative policies, procedures, and processes related to the overall operation and management

• Prepare, provide, and update briefings and communications for the Project Office. Coordinate with Government employees and other contractor personnel throughout the organization to prepare briefings, including communications with higher headquarters

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• An active Secret clearance

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Communications, Business Administration or related field

• Eight (8) years of experience supporting federal programs (preferably for the DOD)

• May substitute three (3) years of additional experience in lieu of degree

• Demonstrated skills in operations management supporting technology development programs, including the development of strategic messaging and program communications support

Additional desired experience and skills:

• Ability and willingness to travel up to an average of 25%

This mission is vital to keeping existing satellites safe and to provide critical information to organizations launching new satellites in the future. One of the assets USSF uses to accomplish this mission is the Ground-based Electro Optical Deep Space Surveillance (GEODSS) System. This optical sensor is employed at three (3) different locations around the world (White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico; Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory; and Maui, Hawaii) and helps track the objects in deep space orbit (altitude of 10,000 to 45,000 km).

You will help operate and maintain three (3), one-meter telescopes equipped with highly sensitive digital cameras. You'll respond to Government tasking to obtain metric observations of specific objects daily and help maintain the sensors, support equipment, and the facility that houses it atDetachment 1, 21st Operations Group, (21OG), Stallion Range Center, Socorro, New Mexico.

• Provide high level expertise on technical security, to include cyber security, to internal and external customers.

In this role, you will:

• Teaching and/or instructing Military Veterans and Veteran spouses employment skills to transition to civilian professional and vocational occupations.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• An Associate's degree, any discipline from an accredited college or university or at least 3 years of experience as a professional trainer or facilitator.

• Prior experience which demonstrates understanding of private and public sector employment processes.

• Previous experience as a classroom instructor.

• Knowledgeable of the workplace, jobs, and requirement for entry into those jobs.

• Demonstrated ability to provide training to groups with up to 50 participants: individual career counseling experience.

• Proficient in MS Windows and Office.

• Ability to travel.

The Jr. Systems Administrator will be serving on a dynamic team, supporting autonomous surface vessels at our client's site at Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC PAC).

This position is contingnet upon your ability to obtain/maintain an active Security Clearance.

You will be part of a team that works closely with the customer and other Serco team members to deliver high technology Naval systems. You will provide technical support for our customer as part of an integrated team both on-site in San Diego, CA and by telework.

In this role, you will:

• Perform system integration, network administration and remote operation both on Test Control Vessels (TCV), along with from a remote operating station on Point Loma NIWC PAC.

• Work closely with a small department of network engineering staff during underway operations to ensure autonomous vessels leave the pier correctly, operate within correct parameters from a network/autonomy perspective, and then return to port in a safe manner.

• Assist with the instruction of personnel with lesser experience to provide oversight.

• Ensure autonomous vessels remain operational for future autonomous operations to include preventative maintenance, network upgrades, and repairs as required.

• Identifying problem areas that may affect future underways and testing.

• Participate in crew transfers while underway from TCVs to and from autonomous surface vessels to include operations of Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats (RHIB) as required.

• Provide network environment and advanced level computing environment support.

• Maintain data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity.

• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems.

• Review design release documents for completeness, proper approvals, and system updates, to ensure correct configuration modifications.

• Perform software installations.

• Troubleshoot systems and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties.

• Investigate, recommend, and install enhancements and operating procedures that optimize network availability.

• Maintain confidentiality regarding the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.

• Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.

• Analyze and resolve technical problems for established networks and associated systems.

• Plan, test, recommend, and implement workstation hardware and software.

• Work with vendors to resolve complex system and/or application problems.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Bachelor's degree plus 0 -2 years of directly related experience. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for comparable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology.

• Has a clear understanding of autonomous systems on board Medium Displacement Unmanned Surface Vessels (MDUSV).

• Ability to work in a maritime environment within various sea states that will require subjectivity to harsh elements during inclement weather.

• Oversee the drafting of program Software Development Plans (SDPs), and execution of program work in accordance with said plans

• Provide software engineering subject matter expertise and mentoring in the set-up of secure software development environments, to include simulation environments and prototyping labs

• Provide evaluation of and facilitate integration of software components from industry partners, Government Labs, and Warfare Centers

• Conduct statutory/regulatory independent technical assessments of programs (e.g., Program Support Assessment (PSA), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), and software focused reviews) to assess the status of software efforts as well as risks and issues

• Perform independent software parametric analysis of development progress based on parameters received from program offices to quantitatively predict completion dates

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or an Engineering discipline with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience

• Secret Clearance, or ability to obtain. (U.S. Citizenship is required)

• Senior level software subject matter expertise including a strong background in Software Engineering, especially in the development of software products for application on DoD military platforms, Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA), Agile development, Devops development, Software Measurement and Metrics, Software Security, Systems Integration, Software Testing, Software Evaluation via Simulated Environments, Hardware-In-The-Loop (HITL) testing, and Software Sustainment

• Knowledge of Software Requirements Management (stability, traceability, dependencies, etc.)

In this Client Support Administrator role, you will:

• Configure user software, modify software configuration, and perform basic configuration management functions in support of the A8 directorate.

• Assists staff with setting suspenses and/or prioritizing work for all A8 staff personnel to support the commander/director

• Assists with conducting reviews and briefings on all facets of management functions with recommended courses of action for resolving problems

• Provides advice and guidance to staff in the organization of administrative, clerical, and procedural requirements.

• Assists other clerical staff in locating and selecting the appropriate guidelines, references, and procedures for application to specific cases

• Updates tracker or suspense files for unclassified documents as required

Unit Program Coordinator Support = The UPC will assists commander/director in accomplishing all necessary internal operations to include administrative training, security, development and implementation of organizational operating instructions and regulations of personnel related programs The UPC in their capacity of Unit Program Coordinator serves as Point of Contact for all newly assigned personnel; orients them regarding the basic functions of the organization, introduces them to key personnel and schedules their initial training/orientation requirements.

• Disseminates information concerning new or changed procedures/regulations

• Assists with determining and meeting administrative needs based on administrative support program requirements

• Assists A8 staff on changes in administrative policies and procedures. Identifies and implements processes which can be improved or made more efficient through application of automated technology or other methods.

• Trains, orients, direct, and oversees the duties and work products of A8 POCs

• Assists with ensuring unit programs comply with regulations, laws, policies, and directives

• Assists with managing programs to include task management, Government Travel Card (GTC) program, health care program, fitness program, Government Purchase Card (GPC) program, safety program, Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) accounts, Special Awards & Trophies, security program, and supply program

• Advises the director on policies and executes directives through the establishment of procedures for associated programs. Assists with ensuring assigned members are aware of individual requirements established by law and/or policy

• Monitors trends of programs and advises commander of their current evaluation ratings

• Attends required training, meetings, and functions as related to the prescribed unit programs

You will be part of a team that provides Underwater Mine Counter Measure (UMCM), Unmanned Maritime System (UMS), and Underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (UROV) Subject Matter Expertise and Engineering Support associated with underwater MCM (Mine Countermeasure), EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal), Security and in-service engineering. You will work with a senior technician, and engineering support, including soware

development, for system development, man and machine interface development, test and evaluation, requirements capture, production, maintenance,and system support under Unmanned and Small Combatants Office PEO USC in conjunction with NUWC, NIWC Pacific, NSWC PCD, and other DoD Programs.

In this role, you will:

• Developing System Engineering plans for integration and R&D. Provide UMCM, UMS, UROV, autonomous systems, and Maritime Subject Matter

• Expertise for R&Dand OT&E.

• Analyze unmanned vehicle (UxV) system designs, specifications, and technical data to determine whether various systems are ready for developmental/operational testing.

• Analyze results from UxV systems and capabilities under test/evaluation to ensure performance successfully meets engineering specifications and operational requirements.

• Investigate system failures, evaluate corrective alternatives and implement actions to ensure UxV systems maintain safe, effective operations and minimize/eliminate potential future system failures.

• Develop technical/logistics documentation in support of UxV operations, training and sustainment, including user manuals, training guides and system maintenance manuals.

• Develop concept of operations (CONOPS) and standard operating procedures (SOP) documentation for UxV operations, tactics, doctrine and vehicle deployment

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Bachelor's Degree in System Engineering or similar field or equivalent experienceand 5-7 years of related experience in System Engineering.

• An active Secret clearance.

• Minimum three (3) years' experience with at-sea testing and evaluation of UxVsKnowledge of, and experience working with military unmanned systems and safety standards, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulicsystems

• Knowledge and experience following Systems Engineering standards, procedures, and best practices

• Ability to work effectively in both independent and team environments
