We have several openings for dedicated Talent Acquisition (TA) Managers to provide operational excellence direction across all areas of recruitment including processes, technology, training, compliance, and continuous improvement activities. As a TA Manager, you will help USAA deliver strategic and operational hiring objectives as you manage a team of hard-working recruiters. You will lead recruitment efforts for staffing programs, projects, and operational plans to meet goals align with staffing and resource management.

This role is a hybrid work type and can be based in one of the following office locations: San Antonio, Phoenix, Charlotte, Colorado Springs, or Tampa.

The Opportunity

What you'll do:

  • Develop and lead a team of individual contributors to established performance expectations, to include providing feedback, coaching, and career counseling.

  • Lead the core operational processes for TA delivery team and ensure hiring success by supporting business processes, tools, and systems to support the recruiting team, hiring leaders, and candidates.

  • Apply established success measures and assess the effectiveness of recruiting solutions to guide shared understanding and continuous improvement around talent pipelines, funnel, and key performance indicators.

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to assess business issues and develop executable plans to address program needs and/or drive the development of new recruiting programs and activities.

  • Endorse continuous process improvement, lean methodologies, and the identification and implementation of standard practices to improve the recruiting processes and overall candidate experience.

  • Champion compliance efforts with federal and state employment regulations and laws by adhering to EEO guidelines in all recruiting activity, such as interviewing, applicant tracking and mandated job postings.

  • Serve as talent acquisition consultant to the enterprise, providing guidance, oversight, and communication on recruitment strategies.

  • Support the design, development, and execution of specific recruitment programs and initiatives, using various channels to enable the hiring plan.

  • Ensure recruiting programs are aligned with diversity attraction strategies and associated budgets.

  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree

  • 6 years of relevant experience in staffing/recruiting, consulting, analysis, or business operations management

  • 2 years as a direct team leader, providing coaching and oversight

  • Demonstrated strategic planning, and subject-matter-expert knowledge of employment laws and federal/local regulations

  • Ability to lead cross functional projects/teams at the functional business level to implement talent acquisition related initiatives

  • Experience using analysis, organizational trends, competitive intelligence, and benchmarked industry practices to understand talent shifts

What sets you apart:

  • Previous experience using Workday Recruiting module

  • Demonstrable experience building and executing candidate sourcing strategies

  • Experience with various sourcing tools to engage passive candidates

  • Ability to deliver compelling data insights to help drive understanding and engagement

What we offer:

Compensation:

USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $95,250 - $182,030.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

The Opportunity

The SVP, Head of Real Estate Lending, is responsible for the creation, development, execution and supervision of all real estate lending products, services, and strategies across USAA's Real Estate Lending business. The executive leverages his or her expertise to build upon a service-oriented, risk conscious culture in directing the continued growth of the entire real estate lending business platform. This executive works with key partners to deliver leading experiences, including: Marketing, Finance, Legal, Information Technology, Control Partners and the Distribution Sales and Services. This executive leads a high performing team to create structural focus on member experiences, to address compliance and regulatory matters by merging traditional/digital product management, data, social, financial management and advices, and to ensure the optimal performance of the real estate lending experiences. This executive ensures general management of competing priorities to include member and employee experience, financial outcomes, risk management and controls, balancing continuous improvement and step change improvements. This executive is responsible for leading teams that focus on the delivery of an efficient, professional, friendly and high level of service with perfect conductivity for the members to acquire products through all channels.

Managerial Responsibilities

  • Leads the design and execution of USAA's real estate lending strategy, taking into account USAA's broader business strategy and complex regulations and nuanced supervisory expectations, including how they apply in a matrixed commercial environment

  • Role models USAA's mission, core values, culture and desired behaviors - including a sound risk culture

  • Develops talent in the real estate lending team to deliver risk-conscious performance and results - including the identification, development and retention of talent with requisite real estate lending capabilities

  • Drives operations of the real estate lending department - including core business processes and technologies

  • Holds self and others accountable for meeting commitments by setting and clearly communicating expectations and roles and responsibilities relative to real estate lending

Technical and Risk Responsibilities

  • Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled

  • Follows written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities

  • Leads the creation of innovative real estate lending products and services across all channels (online, mobile, and call center)

  • Develops a multi-tiered business strategy that immediately addresses today's volatile marketplace with creative solutions for the near and long-term future with a focus on risk management and overall bank compliance

  • Responsible for building and driving quantifiable profitable growth performance with accountability for the P&L, and a focus on expense management and end-to-end customer experience

  • Participates in the development of the organization's strategic plan, executing activities consistent with the firm's strategy and risk appetite and risk tolerance

  • Develops, communicates, and reinforces, risk appetite and risk tolerance throughout the organization in a manner that causes all employees to align their risk-taking decisions

  • Owns the real estate lending income statement and ensures continued growth, operational effectiveness and efficiency, with a focus on managing expenses and investments

  • Accountable for operating within established policies and guidelines, and acting in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and supervisory guidance, including those related to consumer protection, including ensuring policy exceptions are promptly and effectively assessed and escalated

  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, testing, and monitoring an internal control environment for real estate lending, including information systems and preventative and detective controls, to effectively manage material risks

  • Identifies, assesses, measures, monitors, and controls material risks consistent with the risk appetite and risk tolerance, including the development, adherence, monitoring, reporting on risk limits and risk limit utilization. Also, identifies, assesses, measures, monitors, and controls risk associated with money laundering and individuals or organizations sanctioned by OFAC

  • Ensures all real estate products are delivered with a focus on our mission to serve our members - driving exceptional member satisfaction through timely, accurate and compliant service

  • Identifies, reports and resolves risk appetite and risk tolerance breaches. Maintains awareness of disrupters, developments and trends that may affect the competitiveness, quality, and/or profitability of the Bank's ability to support the members' needs

  • Manages third party provider relationships, including the risks associated with those relationships

  • Maintains awareness of national developments and trends in consumer and mortgage lending that may affect the competitiveness, quality and/or profitability of FSB products and services

  • Monitors competition and industry practices for all products; recommends strategies to enhance service and product value, to achieve a competitive advantage

Governance Committees

Interacts with or participates in enterprise governance committees, such as:

  • Bank Pricing Committee

  • Senior Officers Credit Committee

  • Bank Executive Committee

  • Bank New Activities Approval Committee

  • Bank Risk Management Committee

  • First Line of Defense Committee

Education

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree

  • Advanced degree such as MBA or MA in Finance is preferred

Experience

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in technical discipline (e.g. real estate lending ) with a proven track record leading comparable operations and programs (e.g. real estate lending programs) is required

  • A minimum of 10 years of people leadership experience in building, managing and/or developing high-performing teams is required

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a large financial institution ($100 billion +), including 5+ years post-Dodd Frank, in a senior staff role within a real estate lending department is preferred

Regulatory Understanding*

Demonstrated understanding of the full spectrum of regulatory actions, including examinations and other supervisory engagement and processes, such as:

  • Interagency Guidelines Establishing Standards for Safety and Soundness (12 CFR Part 30 Appendix A)

  • OCC Heightened Standards (12 CFR Part 30 Appendix D)

  • Home Owners' Loan Act and related OCC Regulations (12 CFR Chapter 1)

  • Annual Stress Test 12 CFR Part 46 OCC: 12 CFR Part 30 and all Appendices (A through E)

  • Fair Lending laws and related regulations and supervisory guidance

  • Strong knowledge of Federal Banking Laws and Regulations - e.g., 12 CFR 9 - Bank Fiduciary Activities; 12 CFR 25; 12 CFR Part 167

  • Community Reinvestment Act

  • Supervisory Guidance Documents: Large Bank Supervision Handbook; Corporate and Risk Governance Handbook; and key OCC bulletins (Model Risk Governance; New Products and Services Risk Management; Third Party Risk Management FFIEC: BSA/AML Manual CFPB: Consumer Protection Regulations UDAAP Fair Lending

  • FFIEC IT Handbooks for Information Technology and Information Security

The Opportunity

The Portfolio Insights and Financial Analysis team is responsible for creating new, modifying existing, and performing ad-hoc reporting in support of business processes and data-driven decision making. Develops a deep understanding of the business/customer and builds positive collaborations. Delivers value through data analysis and reporting and adapts to changing business needs. The right candidate will have the following:

  • Outstanding analytical skills required

  • High level proficiency with SQL and Tableau required

  • Proficiency with Snowflake, python, and clarity is preferred.

  • Ability to thoroughly detail complex processes and have a high-level experience with Business Objects

Lead Reporting Analyst position is a hybrid work type and can be based in one of the following locations: Charlotte, NC or San Antonio, TX; Hybrid roles help employees gain the best of both worlds - collaborating in-person in the office and working from home when needed to achieve focused results

What you'll do:

  • Identifies and leads existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.

  • Follows written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities.

  • Facilitates business projects of the highest complexity, size and visibility ensuring partners champion decision making data needs.

  • Leads or advises the design, development and implementation and provides oversight of the maintenance of highly complex and often unique business solutions, which may include data, reporting, business intelligence or analytics.

  • Applies a comprehensive understanding of multiple data structures and sources (possesses an expert knowledge of multiple data stores) to Lead or advise highly complex and unique data manipulation using expert data extraction and analytical tools and techniques.

  • Authority on the entire life cycle of report development and identifies and implements standard processes

  • Applies a well-rounded understanding of the business operations and analytics to influence business strategies and solutions.

  • Leads or advises the development of innovative ways to address complex or unique business problems and solutions.

  • Responsible for ensuring data governance operating principles are followed and yield efficient and accurate reporting of COSA data for consumption by the Enterprise.

  • Coordinates inputs from multiple sources, synthesizes data / information and builds qualitative commentary collecting key messages.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • 8 years of experience in data analysis/extraction, statistics, data management, analytics and/or data reporting.

  • Experience in identifying multiple sources of data and redefining data into reports to tell the story and tailor presentations as need for audience and purpose.

  • Experience crafting reports for presentation to Sr. Leadership, Board of Directors, Committees, etc.

  • Experienced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Expert knowledge of data reporting/analysis tools and techniques and ability to use SQL and/or Microsoft Excel to create pivot tables, graphs, and charts.

  • Expert troubleshooting skills.

  • Comprehensive understanding of compliance, risk management, and data security frameworks.

  • Experience in creating automated reports and interactive visualizations using tools such as Python and Tableau.

You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $104,660 - $199,970.

The Opportunity

What you'll do:

  • Identifies and handles existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.

  • Follows written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities.

  • Conducts all phases in the development of moderately complex acquisitions of third-party/affiliate solutions to include consulting on statements of work, creating requests for proposals, identification of qualified suppliers, proposal evaluations and negotiations.

  • Applies proficient knowledge in the design and execution of moderately complex sourcing plans and solutions designed to achieve client's strategy through deployment of third-party solutions.

  • Interprets the provisions and specific terms of low to complex risk contracts that can decrease the Enterprise's ability to complete the mission, damage reputation, and/or impair financial stability of the Enterprise such that capital strength of liquidity is temporarily impacted.

  • Collaborates with Legal and other subject matter experts as needed to interpret and ensure accuracy of contracts and resolve raised issues.

  • Coordinates with key partners to gather business requirements and specifications to design third-party solutions to achieve optimal business outcomes.

  • Provides client consultation on medium to complex actions, evaluates client requirements and advises in the development of contract specifications to achieve pre-established savings, quality, and risk/cost avoidance targets.

  • Validates contract against established controls to drive regulatory compliance.

  • Engages with internal collaborators and suppliers to ensure valuable, compliant, and consistent procurement experiences across assigned client group.

The Pricing Modernization team within the Product & Pricing Analytics organization is seeking a Business Applications Analyst II. This individual contributor position will work primarily with the Earnix Price-It software which will house the Property & Casualty (P&C) rating rules for USAA going forward. In this role, you will be expected to:

- Quickly get up to speed on the Earnix tool and its inherent capabilities. Work with business partners and developers to understand business needs and pain points to deliver future capabilities for the tool.

- Implement Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) principles to support sustainable coding practices within the Earnix Price-It environment. Implement scalable processes for development within Earnix that simplify and expedite expansion to new product lines.

- Find innovative ways to leverage Earnix functionality to support Pricing capability automation. This includes writing Python code within Earnix to automate processes and reduce manual dependencies that exist in today's environment.

The Director, Data Science will play a crucial role in leveraging all facets of Member and financial data including Banking, P&C and Life Insurance to implement data-driven strategies that enhance our products, services, and overall business performance across USAA. P& C IT is seeking a dedicated Scrum Master Senior- Release Train Engineer who will serve on the Portfolio Operations team. While assignments may change over time, this role is in the Auto Modernization space. This effort is operating differently than a standard SAFe large solution which will require candidates to be adaptable. This person would primarily be responsible for coordinating development of multiple integrating partners.

This position is a hybrid work type based out of San Antonio, TX. Hybrid roles help employees gain the best of both worlds - collaborating in-person in the office and working from home when needed to achieve focused results.

Scrum Masters Senior are responsible for ensuring teams and programs live Agile values and principles and follows processes and practices that the teams agree they will use within Agile (i.e. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.) frameworks to self-organize while delivering value to customers. The Scrum Master is a servant leader and champions the Agile mindset through effective guidance, coaching, education and through removal of impediments to team progress. This role is responsible for building high-performing teams focused on constantly improving team dynamics and performance. Scrum Masters at the Senior level demonstrate a deeper understanding of Agile delivery, product knowledge and the ability to influence multiple teams and practices.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART

  • Work with stakeholders to ensure strategy and execution alignment

  • Be a servant leader and coach to agile teams, scrum masters, and program level business & IT leaders

  • Manage key Program Level meetings and routines (e.g. PIP, demos, syncs, etc.) sending meeting minutes with actions within 24 hours

  • Summarize and publish Team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives for executive level consumption.

  • Continuously monitor and communicate PI progress

  • Manage risks and dependencies

  • Ensures adherence to regulatory controls at program level

  • Proactively addresses and/or escalate agile team impediments within 48 hours

  • Build and track milestones and roadmaps for ART agile maturity

  • Assist Product Manager with milestones and roadmaps for the ART

  • Accountable for updating TIA for accuracy of team roles, where appropriate

  • Accountable for keeping Clarity/JIRA/Rally hygiene and accurate reflection of work effort status

What you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • 6 years of directly related experience in process improvement, project management, software engineer, or business/requirements analysis with at least 4 years as a Scrum Master, Release Train Engineer, or has development experience working in a similar role in a lean or Scrum environment.

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with multiple Agile delivery frameworks (e.g., Kanban, Scrum, XP, Lean, SAFe, DevOps).

  • Knowledge of compliance and risk management frameworks, including experience to identify and mitigate risks.

  • One or more Agile certification(s) such as: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), Agile Certified Professional (ACP), or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), or SAFe Agilist (SA).

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
