Primary Responsibilities:
Conducts reviews of laws and regulations for business impact and conveys requirements for awareness and action.
Executes compliance risk management activities in accordance with enterprise compliance standards.
Provides compliance input on business action plans, projects or operational requests.
Gathers information, analyzes data trends, identifies root cause(s), and provides information to the business or project teams.

4 or more years relevant work experience in financial services or insurance industry.
Advanced Knowledge of compliance laws, regulations and regulatory expectations.
Advanced knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques with demonstrated ability to evaluate risk and make recommendations.
Demonstrated ability to perform complex analysis and provide insights and recommendations to business and/or compliance partners.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with life, annuity or health compliance.
Experience assisting in the management of regulatory examinations and reporting.
Experience reviewing and responding to complaints.
Experience with Risk Management.
Experience with life insurance company operations.

*Geographical Differential: Geographic pay differential is additional pay provided to eligible employees working in locations where market pay levels are above the national average.

Minimum Education:
Minimum Experience:

2 years of Data Visualization experience (i.e. Tableau).
Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (i.e. FDIC, CFPB, OCC).
Expert experience in creating product briefings and presenting to executive leadership.
Experienced in market research to create product roadmap, make product decisions and iterate rapidly.
Knowledge of applicable product related regulations, and risk and compliance requirements.
Knowledge of federal laws, rules, and regulations to include: TILA/REG Z, SCRA/MLA (given our demographic), Reg B, FCRA, UDAAP.

Job Requirements
Primary Responsibilities:
Identifies and leads existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, supervised, and controlled.
Follows written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities.
Leads and drives solutions for stronger controls, and in support of risk and/or regulatory compliance related initiatives which may include: oversight of procedures/process, accurate regulatory reporting and filing, document governance, risk control self-assessments, procedure governance, control design, new product controls, CoSA Third Party Governance, or quality governance.
Performs ongoing supervision and oversight of business controls and shares knowledge with team members to evaluate the effectiveness of established business controls.
Responsible for risk data analysis, report preparation and trend analysis, using business intelligence tools.
Anticipates business needs and proactively finds opportunities to improve and strengthen the control environment through practical insights.
Assists with translating control deficiencies into action plans and provides recommendations to improve governance practices in alignment with risk and compliance frameworks.
Partners with collaborators to drive improvement efforts to correct or prevent unfavorable trends and assess the impacts.
Leads project team through concept, planning, execution, and implementation phases for effective and timely risk remediation.
Advises senior management on the status of their control environment related to risk identification and control weaknesses. Identifies critical areas to supervise and advances issues and findings to appropriate partners.
Establishes and maintains processes, procedures and tools for handling exception alerts as they occur, including monitoring of resulting exception cases.
Provides control oversight to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
Serves as a primary resource to team members.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
6 years of experience supporting risk and/or compliance related activities in a financial services operating environment or other relevant industry; OR 6 years of experience in a relevant quantitative discipline; OR Advanced degree or designation in a risk management or quantitative discipline, and 4 years of experience supporting risk and/or compliance related activities; OR PhD in a risk management or quantitative discipline, and 2 years of experience supporting risk and/or compliance related activities.
Knowledge of federal laws, rules, regulations, and applicable guidance to include: TILA/REG Z, REG E, REG F, REG B, REG CC, UDAAP/UDAP, FCRA, BSA/AML, SCRA/MLA, OCC Heightened Standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
6 or more years of experience in a risk management, compliance, regulatory, or audit function within the banking or insurance industry
6 or more years first line of defense experience in surveilling/monitoring financial services transactions
Experience advising and participating in risk control self-assessments, identification of material risks, monitoring Key Risk Indicators, adhering to issue management standards, and assessing control design and effectiveness
Experience supporting and/or leading risk program implementation in a first line of defense risk role at a large Retail Bank
Understanding of Risk Management principles and regulatory expectations applicable to Consumer Lending at a financial institution
Experience monitoring all sources of risk across various Consumer Lending products and services
Validated problem solver ability to break down complex problems by component, determine root cause, drive develop/implement clear steps to solution
Experience in a highly dynamic environment undergoing change; ability to partner & consult optimally at all levels of the organization in a highly complex business environment, dealing with challenging priorities

Compensation:
USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $80,200-$144,500 * .
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
*Geographical Differential : Geographic pay differential is additional pay provided to eligible employees working in locations where market pay levels are above the national average.
Shift premium will be addressed on an individual basis for applicable roles that are consistently scheduled for non-core hours.
