Description -

We are looking for a safety conscious Local Truck Driver to join the team at our location in Manassas, VA.

In this position you will be operating a garbage truck on a specified route.

This is a very physical job working outside in all weather conditions.

Monday-Friday day shift with occasional Saturdays.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform welding and repair of trash containers and compactors as well as trash trucks in our fleet.

Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate and OSHA standards.-Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services. Performs inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulics, suspension brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.-Utilize vehicle computer electrical systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.-Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.-Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. -Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.-Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns.-Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:-Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 60 pounds.- Work environment may be indoors in a shop, or outdoors to repair trucks on the road. Usually well-lighted and ventilated. Sometimes necessary to work in awkward or tight positions and to handle greasy or dirty tools. These factors require following basic safety precautions..-The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.

• Work environment is an office setting. Areas are clean, ventilated, and well lighted. Our Customer Service Reps normally have their own workstation or cubicle space and are equipped with a telephone, headset, and computer.

• CSR call areas can be noisy and work may be repetitious and stressful, with little time in between calls, while still providing excellent service. Some calls are evaluated to ensure high standards.

• Also, long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen are common.

Finley Buttes Landfill, a Waste Connections Company is currently hiring for a full time Year round Heavy Equipment Operator to work at our Landfill in Boardman, Oregon.

The Position:

We are looking for a safety minded Heavy Equipment Operator to join the team at our Finley Buttes Landfill location in Boardman, OR. Landfill Compactor or Bulldozer experience would be a huge plus!
