DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services. WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:-Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 60 pounds.- Work environment may be indoors in a shop, or outdoors to repair trucks on the road. Usually well-lighted and ventilated. Sometimes necessary to work in awkward or tight positions and to handle greasy or dirty tools. These factors require following basic safety precautions..-The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.

We are currently seeking a talented Assistant District Manager at Loess Hills Landfill in Malvern, IA.

We are looking for a candidate that will manage the day-to-day operations of a single or multiple sites with minimal direction. This Manager will establish and maintain performance and productivity metrics and cost management processes.In this role you will spend a significant amount of time developing, motivating, and managing sales staff, operations staff and accounting staff. In addition, managing the district's pricing quality and margin enhancement, managing the sales costs of the district, and ensuring that the monthly budgets are met.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for developing and implementing procedures and systems for personnel to operate in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner.

• Creates and monitors budget and operating metrics while diagnosing and improving profit, processes and return on investment. Develops short-term and long-term goals and action plans in conjunction with the Regional Vice President.

• Establishes and maintains performance targets, objectives and standards for each service activity at the site.

• Has full P&L and capital responsibility for the site.

• Participates in regular P&L reviews to ensure budgets are met; develops and implements programs for optimal equipment utilization, equipment maintenance, and labor and material costs.

• Oversees personnel needs of the site including selecting, coaching, disciplining and training employees and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation and promotion decisions.

• Partners with local city, municipal and county agencies to ensure WCI is providing top notch customer service, and identifies ways to improve services. Works with municipalities to renew contracts, negotiate new contracts.

• Executes necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with Company, DOT, OSHA and other standards and regulations.

• Ensures that safe, reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements.

• Responsible for compliance to applicable environmental laws and regulations.

• Has overall responsibility for facility maintenance.

• Defines and implements market strategy.

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

  Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree; advanced degrees preferred

• three+ years management level experience in the transportation or waste industry is preferred

• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

• Knowledge of waste hauling operating procedures

• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT and EPA guidelines

• Work Environment:

• Travels regularly to customer or other company locations

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) fields calls from Customers and works to resolve problems they raise concerning service or billing. Waste Connections of Arkansas is looking for a motivated, high energy Customer Service Representative to join the team at our Hauling location in Midway, AR. Previous waste experience would be a huge plus! This is a Monday through Friday 7-4:30 pm or 8:00am-5:00pm position with an occasional Saturday if needed. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Works in conjunction with other departments to resolve customer disputes.

• Effectively communicates issues, needs and opportunities with customer service employees and other managers & solicits sale of new or additional services.

• Interviews customers and records interview information into computer.

• Talks with customers by phone or in person and receives orders for installation, turn on, discontinuance, or change in service.

• Fills out contract forms, determines charges for service requested, collects deposits, prepares change of address records, and issues discontinuance orders.

• Take payments, bank deposits, key word orders, keys production paperwork and general office duties

• Adjusts complaints concerning billing or service rendered, referring complaints of service failures to designated departments for investigation.

• Demonstrates the knowledge and effective use of software applications. These systems should include as a minimum, MS Word and Excel.

• Scheduling and dispatching work to various employees and departments throughout the day.

• Analyzing and resolving customer inquiries for missed pick-ups, misplaced containers and property damage.

• Delivers services to customers in a manner that promotes goodwill. Interacts with customers and Waste Connections employees to determine service requirements, resolve problems or complaints, and seeks cost-effective, safe environmentally sound solutions to service issues.

• Other duties as assigned such as being cross-trained and running the scale house, doing collections, AP and AR.

  REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 2 years of Customer Service experience in a call center atmosphere, dispatch, and/or collections, AR and AP.

• Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook preferred. Typing and 10-key skills are required

• Excellent organization and communication skills

• Ability to analyze and solve problems.

• Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports

• Ability to be flexible and motivated to do additional duties assigned

  What we do: We provide trash and disposal services to the local community. You, a vital piece of the team, would be responsible for safely operating a Commercial CDL Truck delivering dumpster containers to customers, while providing the best service in the industry. This includes duties such:

• Safely driving a Commercial CDL Truck into a variety of environments (Residential, Construction, Commercial, etc.).

• Determine the best, convenient drop off location for dumpster, to avoid property damage.

• Cautiously operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load Dumpster on/off truck.

• Secure the Dumpster Load, cover appropriately and account for weight shift before departing

• Ability to read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.

• Perform daily pre and post trip inspections.

• Interact courteously with your customers

• Other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

  What we work with: Trash is heavy! Sometimes we have machines aid our efforts. Other times we do not. And this is a service provided year round - Rain, snow or shine. Hot or cold. Be prepared to work in all environments, around heavy diesel equipment. Not to mention dirty ones. Plan for the following labor:

In this position you will be working on the back of a garbage truck manually picking up garbage and dumping in the back of the truck. This is a very physical job working outside in all weather conditions.

Monday-Friday 6:00 am start time $15 an hour working 45+ hours a week. Because of the OT you will be making between $725 and $1000 a week.

We are currently seeking experienced safety-conscious Equipment Operators to join the team at JED Landfill in St Cloud, FL . Previous landfill or waste experience would be a huge plus, but willing to train the right candidate.

The position is a Day Shift working Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays working 45-55 hours a week. Pay Range for this position is $18-$20+ DOE.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform Maintenance around the site and facilities as needed

• Spreading and compacting trash using a Compactor

• Spreading daily cover using a Dozer

• Excavating soil using an Excavator

• Hauling soil

  WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• The work environment is an outdoor landfill setting. The employee will work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibrations. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Areas are clean, ventilated, and well lit.

  MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience driving forklift, dozer, or articulated dump truck preferred

• Must demonstrate ability to learn and independently operate equipment used at facility
