• Welding, painting, and grinding responsibilities.

• Utilize needle scaler, grinder, drill, drill press, sanders, band saw, Sawzall, hand tools, hammers, sledge hammer, tape measure, shear, metal brake, angle finder, level and shop press.

• Driving a forklift.

• Available to help mechanics in maintenance shop as required.

• General cleaning responsibilities.

• Equipment safety checks: air compressors, welders, ladders, extension cords, miscellaneous hand tools.

• Maintain and track inventory of container parts and supplies.

• Assemble, repair, and replace decals on carts and containers.

• Ability to effectively communicate and understand needed repairs and/or tasks.

• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.

  Requirements:

• At least 1 year of work experience. Preferably in a labor type roll where you had to utilize customer service skills.

• The ability to stand and work outside throughout a 8 hr shift.

• The ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.

• Ability and willing to work in all weather conditions

Responsibilities:

• Manage, track, and process all hauling equipment purchases for Waste Connections.

• Become expert user and key administrator for proprietary software system managing vehicle and equipment purchases.

• Assist and coordinate with our field sites on daily tasks such as truck invoicing, truck titles, and processing purchase orders.

• Prepare weekly reports for a variety of stakeholders to satisfy requests for service and delivery.

• Work within Corporate Maintenance team towards constant improvement to data base and vendor pricing.

• Train field as needed on improvements and processes changes.

Desired Experience:

• Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Previous experience with managing a Google Docs hub or Sharepoint site desired

• Previous experience working with Purchase Orders desired

• Excellent problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills, along with patience, a customer-friendly attitude and the ability to work in a team environment

  What we do: We provide trash and disposal services to the local community. You, a vital piece of the team, would be responsible for safely operating a garbage truck into neighborhoods and picking up trash, while providing the best service in the industry. Rear Load Trucks require drivers to pull trashcans to the truck to dump with a tipper. Duties include:

• Safely operating a rear load garbage truck in residential neighborhoods and picking up trash receptacles

• Cautiously exit/enter the vehicle over 500 times a day to service homes

• Physically pulling and moving containers that weigh over 75 pounds just as often

• Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.

• Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

• Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.

  REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Must have experience working on yellow iron/heavy equipment.

We are looking for a safety conscience G arbage Truck Driver to join the team at our Hauling location in Shelton, WA . Previous waste experience would be a huge plus!

This is a Monday-Friday early AM day shift position. The starting pay for this position is $24.50/HR.

Essential Functions:

• Performs complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections including, but not limited to, checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges and controls.

• Drives heavy diesel truck along residential and commercial routes and to disposal area(s).

• Climbs into and out of truck at customer locations and disposal area(s) when necessary.

• Operates hand hydraulic controls to cycle compactor and dispose of collected material at the designated facility.

• Courteously interacts with customers, dispatchers, and supervisors.

• Reads and maintains, in sequential order, tablet, follows map and services each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by dispatcher and/or supervisor.

• Completes required route/productivity sheets, Vehicle Condition Reports (VCRs) and other forms.

• Performs driver check-in procedures upon returning to the facility at the end of the day Follows all safety policies and procedures as well as attend weekly safety meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:
