Who We Are:

HII-Mission Technologies (HII-MT) is seeking a Senior Principal Military Analyst to support United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) operations in Honolulu, HI. Specifically, the candidate will lead the Operational Research Team in executing quantitative and qualitative operational research to identify potential improvements to U.S. plans and policies. The candidate will lead the team in developing realistic operational scenarios, supporting high-fidelity, campaign-level modeling and simulation (M&S), leading seminars with subject matter experts and military planners, utilizing various analytical methods to produce in-depth findings, and presenting these findings to high-level stakeholders.

What You Will Do:

The candidate will lead the Operational Research Team in performing a wide range of tasks leading , including:

  • Engage with the Indo-Pacific planning community to determine research focus

  • Design research using the Scientific Method

  • Develop realistic operational scenarios on which to base research

  • Support and utilize quantitative research by M&S subject matter experts

  • Conduct qualitative research using the Socratic Method with a variety of subject matter experts

  • Conduct analyses to identify potential improvements in U.S. plans and policies

  • Present findings to a variety of planners and senior leaders

  • Mine data for utilization by M&S subject matter experts

  • Manage onsite personnel

What We're Looking For:

  • 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.

  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen per the classified nature of the job

  • A Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility is required at employment.

  • The candidate must reside in or be willing to re-locate to Oahu, HI

  • The candidate must be able to travel roughly 25%

  • The candidate must be willing and able to manage onsite personnel per company and contractual requirements

Preferred Requirements

  • Graduation from Service Advanced Studies Group School (e.g., SAMS, SAW, MAWS, SAASS, JAWS)

  • Extensive experience in military joint operational planning and the operational arts at the campaign and/or theater-strategic level

  • Extensive experience in military operations and/or operational planning in the USINDOPACOM Theater

  • Operations research experience

  • Familiarity with research methodologies such as the Scientific Method and Socratic Method

  • Experience utilizing Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) system outputs

HII Mission Technologies Division (HII-MT) is seeking a Junior Engineer with solid knowledge of the basic principles of computer engineering, electrical engineering, or embedded systems. This position will require a high interest in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and may also require an interest in the modeling, simulation, and/or analysis of electronic warfare systems, radars (ground-based or airborne), missile & aircraft systems, or RF/EO/IR sensors. Candidates should be familiar with basic radar theory and be able to analyze performance and develop subsystem-level models and characterizations of radar components such as antennas, transmitters, receivers, signal processors, trackers, and mode control computers. Candidates will use good people skills and strong technical interests/capabilities to work with a highly technical team of engineers and scientists solving challenging technical questions about highly complex RF systems.

What You Must Have

  • High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 2 years of related experience.

  • Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.

  • Experienced and able to obtain SMAW welding certifications.

  • Able to pass a general and specific knowledge exam on welder workmanship.

  • Interpret drawings and other weld specific documentation.

  • Able to follow instructions/procedures. Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.

Job Description

Performs routine naval architecture work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of design and/or analyses of ship hull, foundation, superstructure, arrangements and hull form characteristics tasks. As directed, applies selected techniques and procedures to assignments involving ship design and ship performance analyses. Assists in the solution of difficult problems involved in areas of assignment. The Role

The Role

Develops, plans, and conducts public relations and public affairs programs to improve and support company business objectives with the media, public, industry, stockholders, and employees. The Role

Implements and monitors industrial safety programs to ensure personnel and facility safety. Participates in monitoring and controlling the organization's safety standards in accordance with OSHA and State codes and regulations. Evaluates new equipment and materials for safety. Monitors employee exposure to chemicals and other toxic substances. Performs surveys and inspections to ensure compliance with the organization's policies, procedures, regulations and standards related to employee safety. Tests and services safety equipment and systems. Reports non-compliance or hazardous conditions found and suggests remedial action to be taken. At NNS, this position is considered an OSHA shipyard competent person (SCP) with monitoring confined spaces for safe entry and work and works under the guidance of a Certified Marine Chemist (CMC). The candidate will be expected to gain the following skills and knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the requirements in subparts B, C, D and H of 29 CFR Part 1915, and ability to perform all required tests and inspections set forth in those subparts.

The Role

This position will support the Engineering Planning and Administration of Submarine Engineering. Responsibilities are primarily in support of the Submarine Hull Planning Yard to include schedule and configuration management of design products for modernization of the Submarine Fleet. This position will be responsible for the development of various reports to support ship readiness and program operations. Some internal and external customer interface and support of program personnel. Other responsibilities may include performance support for the Independent Research and Development (IRAD). The candidate will participate in the development of process improvements to enhance internal work processes as well as internal and external exchange of information to improve Submarine Hull Planning Yard requirements.

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Job includes but not limited to reviewing status of projects and budgets, manages schedules, prepares status reports, assesses project issues, develops resolutions, goal setting to meet productivity, and quality control, while maintaining client satisfaction. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 1 years of relevant professional experience

One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:

  • NNS Apprentice School graduate

  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate

  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience

  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience

  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience

  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience developing Cognos reports is preferred.

  • Knowledge and experience with Hull Planning Yard requirements, drawing products, and processes is preferred.

  • Knowledge of basic hull, mechanical, electrical and related information regarding the ship is preferred.

  • Good analytical, written and verbal communication skills; and proficient with Excel, Word, Access and SAP.

The Role

Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience and job knowledge. Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed. Recommends training to enhance skill and productivity of employees, and assists in development of training procedures. Breaks broad strategies down to practical action plans and ensures employees are trained to perform these plans. Responsible for complying with all technical aspects of the job including adherence to all drawings, procedures, etc. Responsible for manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations that have a significant financial impact on the company's performance. Supervises qualified trades staff; monitoring job and budget performance for all shifts.
