KBR is looking for a Biomedical Engineer to support Aerospace Physiology & Neuroscience research. The Biomedical Engineer will provide engineering and technical support to DoD-sponsored flight and altitude research and training conducted by the Aerospace Physiology, Neuroscience, and Biodynamics laboratories of the Air Force Research Laboratory.

This position will participate and lead biomedical research focused on understanding the normal human response to flight and space, and developing, testing, and delivering countermeasures to those untoward responses that may affect crew health, safety, and/or performance during or after missions.

The ideal candidate will possess skills to apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. Makes decisions independently on simple engineering problems and methods. Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.

Responsibilities:

• Perform work that involves conventional engineering practices

• Application of engineering principles and practice of related specialties

• Design and develop software and hardware for data collection and testing, including modifications to commercial off the shelf systems, limited in-house electromechanical fabrication and/or working with outside vendors for experiment software/hardware deliverables

• Collect, reduce, collate, analyze, and archive operational, flight, flight analog, and ground data

• Analyze experimental data and recommend modifications to analysis procedures and analytical methods; develop and modify software for data reduction and analysis

• Operate specialized equipment used in tests on human subjects

• Operate data acquisition systems during hardware verification, science verification, and actual data acquisition from human subjects

• Evaluate hardware for potential acquisition, contact vendors for information, and initiate procurement

• Assist in the preparation of human research protocols, technical reports, presentations, and manuscripts

• Develop safety documentation for test readiness reviews and meetings related to the development and implementation of human research protocols, detailed test plans, etc.

• Contribute to the formulation and documentation of standard procedures in the laboratory

• Participate as a member of a research team working closely with principal investigators, pilots/astronauts, subjects, support scientists, and other engineers

• Develop a thorough knowledge of KBR's policies and procedures governing the use of human test subjects

  Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Master's Degree plus 5+ years of experience, or equivalent experience in biomedical or mechanical engineering, or a closely allied field

• Must be skilled in the design, testing, evaluation, and integration of biomechanical instrumentation intended for use with human subjects

• Ability to independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria and use judgment to make decisions to provide engineering solutions to problems

• Knowledge of human physiology to understand biomedical experiments designed to characterize the human adaptive response to space flight and space flight analogs

• Able to work effectively both in small teams and independently and work effectively in a multidisciplinary setting where there are frequently divergent or competing goals for the project implementation and outcome

• Previous experience working with test subjects

• Advanced PC Skills in Microsoft Office products

APS-3: Motor Vehicle Mechanic (Mech III)

The Motor Vehicle Mechanic (Mech III) will:

KBR is seeking highly qualified mechanics with automotive maintenance training and experience to work in our wheeled vehicle and trailer shops. Certifications and proof of qualifications should be provided with resume at the time of application. The hiring manager reserves the right to review and validate qualifications to determine the best fit candidate.

The Motor Vehicle Mechanic repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks or tractors. Work involves most of the following: Diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required; replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; overhauling transmissions; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems. In general, the work of the Motor Vehicle Mechanic requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent.

This Motor Vehicle Mechanic is among the most seasoned and trained mechanics in the Automotive Maintenance Shops within the Maintenance Department. This mechanic will perform field level automotive maintenance on all automotive tactical and combat equipment assigned or work-loaded to the APS-3 program. May be eligible to lead a team of 8-12 lesser qualified or experienced mechanics. Uses government furnished special tools, property, and facilities to perform responsibilities.

• Field level maintenance on US military automotive equipment. Includes diagnostics, parts identification and requisition, servicing and repair in accordance with technical specifications and specified repair times.

• Limited A/C repair and service on a wide range of automotive and material handling equipment

• Maintain maintenance records and documentation in accordance with government regulations and local policies.

• Properly use, store, account for, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste used and generated in the performance of duties. Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations and procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous materials.

• Movement of materiel and assets with forklifts and dollies.

• Upon notification from the government, deploys to support issuing or receipt of equipment.

• Must be capable of getting a minimum of a SECRET security clearance.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC)

• Must obtain and maintain local base access.

• Prior military maintenance training and experience on tactical and combat vehicles a plus

• 4+ years' experience in directly relevant work

• In lieu of formal course work, a combination of college credits, ASE Certifications, on-the-job training, other formalized training, or experience may be considered.

• Ability to comply with all established environmental regulations, methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position

• Ability to interpret and apply technical instruction, schematics, and diagrams

• Possess personal tools that meets the required tool list

• Possess a valid State Motor Vehicle Operator License. Must obtain and maintain local base access

• Meet government specified requirements to be deployable, including annual health screenings, training requirements, and passport

• EPA certification in Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Program to be compliant with section 609 of the Clean Air Act is a plus

• ASE Certified in A or T series is a plus

Help Desk Support Technician

ABOUT THIS POSITION

The successful Helpdesk Support Technician candidate will be part of the distributed KBR team supporting the Test Resource Management Center's (TRMC) Serengeti Research Development Test & Evaluation (RDT&E) Hybrid Cloud and the TRMC's Cloud Hybrid Edge-to-Enterprise Evaluation Test & Analysis Suite (CHEETAS) of tools. As an experienced Help Desk Support Technician, the successful candidate will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation and user experience of our distributed userbase while also contributing to the overall responsiveness and efficiency of our BDKM and Cloud teams. The successful candidate will be the initial point of contact for all CHEETAS and Serengeti IT related questions to include: helpdesk-, service- and feature- requests. On both the classified and unclassified system this position will be responsible for: establishing & maintaining Confluence / Jira ticket workflows, monitoring Confluence wiki pages Jira tickets and helpdesk email reflectors for user requests / questions, creating and maintaining Jira tickets for those requests, maintaining awareness of all requests which come in from the community, resolving requests and answering questions when possible or elevating the question to Subject Matter Experts (SME) on the distributed TRMC team when necessary, this position will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining a frequently asked questions (FAQ) page to assist users with self-service all while tracking the lifecycle of all tickets from creation to resolution & closure to ensure no user request falls through the cracks. This position will be responsible for logging tickets, service requests and resolving support requests ensuring that service levels and targets are achieved as well as meeting end user satisfaction. The successful candidate must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, must be a well-organized self-starter, must enjoy interacting with remote end users and must have a can-do attitude as this may be the first interaction end users have with the extended TRMC support team. As such the successful candidate will be expected to use all of their skills to provide those users with the best possible experience for our widely distributed remote userbase.

The position is expected to only have occasional travel but the willingness to travel up to 25% if necessary. Due to the requirement to monitor classified systems, the candidate will work be required to work onsite at the KBR Niceville, FL facility. - Answers questions when possible, and when not possible reaches out to collaborate with distributed team subject matter experts to obtain an answer.

- Maintains and provides helpdesk ticket metrics on a quarterly basis or as requested.

- Uses experience and problem-solving skills to identify frequently asked questions, develop and maintain FAQ site on both classified and unclassified wiki to assist end users with self-help options to enable the userbase to become more self-sufficient.

- Works closely with KBR Trainer and CHEETAS Quality Assurance (QA) team to identify trends within helpdesk tickets so that the Trainer can address those items within training videos and documentation.

- Willing to be flexible with working hours and shift work hours as necessary (with prior notification) to provide support coverage for userbase during important events in other time zones (our userbase is scattered from EST to HST).

Required Qualifications:

- Clearance: Must have an active Secret clearance to be considered for the position. Top Secret preferred.

- Must have experience working in a DoD environment, preferably within a DoD helpdesk.

- Minimum of 2+ years' experience working within an IT Service / Help Desk - preferably within DoD and preferably supporting a remote userbase.

- Must have experience using Atlassian Confluence / Jira software - preferably within a helpdesk environment.

Manager, Information Management/ ISSO

Perform all ISSO associated duties as prescribed in reference DoD Instruction 8500.01, -Cybersecurity,- Incorporating Change 1, 14 March 2014. Scope includes establishing, implementing, and maintaining the DoD information Cybersecurity (CS) program, including:

• Assist the MDA/SN ISSM in meeting their duties and responsibilities as outlined in DoD Instruction 8500.01, Enclosure 3 Section 19 (ref a).

• Ensure that all users of the LRDR systems under including privileged users, have the requisite security clearances and supervisory need-to-know authorization, and are aware of their cybersecurity responsibilities before being granted access to any DoD Information System on site.

• Ensure that all users of the LRDR systems under including privileged users, have satisfied their initial, recurring, and Privileged User cybersecurity training in accordance with governing directives.

• Coordinate with the ISSM and government ISSO to initiate protective or correcting measures when cybersecurity incidents or vulnerabilities are discovered and ensure that a process is in place for authorized users to report all cybersecurity-related events and potential threats and vulnerabilities to the ISSO.

• Oversee the security of the network including investigation and reporting of security violations as required and ensuring -in use controls- consistent with the classification level of the system are developed and enforced.

• Ensure that cybersecurity and cyber-enabled software, hardware, and firmware comply with appropriate security configuration guidelines.

• Ensure the information system recovery processes are monitored and that cybersecurity features and procedures are properly restored.

• Ensure that all cybersecurity-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals.

• Implement and enforce all cybersecurity policies and procedures, as defined by MDA and DoD security certification and authorization documentation.

• Review RADMERC Audit Administrator accounts on an annual basis and remove any account that are no longer necessary

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• The ideal candidate for this role will have skills typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Information Management or Engineering.

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in related projects with an average of 20+ years which includes several years of Senior Project/Program Management level experience and with a track record of developing and successfully implementing a compelling digital strategy in a large and complex project environment.

• They should be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of project execution and how digital approaches can provide a beneficial outcome to the project team and the client organization, both for the present (Pre-FEED and FEED project phases) and in the future (EPC phase and most importantly, the operational phase).

• They should have excellent communication skills (oral and written) and be capable of interfacing with and influencing senior management within both KBR and Client organizations.
