Banner University Medical Center - South Tucson is seeking a new Health Unit Coordinator. This position is entry level and responsible for a variety of administrative support functions and customer service for an assigned patient care area which promote an organized, efficient delivery of care to patients. This position is for Full-Time Night Shift, 6p - 6:30a, this will include weekends and holidays on a rotating basis. University Medical Center South Banner - University Medical Center South is a comprehensive medical center that includes an Emergency department, a state-designated trauma center and a Behavioral Health Pavilion. We are an Arizona Department of Health Services-accredited Cardiac Receiving Center and a Nurses Improving Care for Health system Elders-designated senior-friendly hospital. The hospital is staffed by physicians who are full-time faculty of the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson and is managed by Banner Health under an operating agreement with Pima County. Our specialty services include inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, treatment and education for diabetes, innovative geriatrics care and comprehensive orthopedics.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for a variety of administrative support functions and customer service for an assigned patient care area which promote an organized, efficient delivery of care to patients. The position facilitates communication between physicians, nurses and physicians, calls in Consults and acts as a liaison with all other internal departments and external contacts.
CORE FUNCTIONS
Performs receptionist/clerical duties to support overall operating efficiency and effective flow of communication and information throughout the department. Participates in the resolution of customer problems or collects necessary data and follows through to appropriate person for problem resolution.
Processes patient admissions, records bed assignments in system, makes face sheets and prints patient labels upon admission. Orders outside records from other facilities and Physician's offices.
Maintains a complete patient record with admission, transfer, and discharge information, progress notes, and consent forms. Ensures that all reports and chart forms are scanned or filed into the patient's record. Ensures that charting forms are labeled and accessible if they are needed. Maintains adequate supplies of frequently used, patient education materials. May be responsible for QC/validations.
Enters pending discharges into the system. Coordinates patient appointments for procedures and treatments that may be required prior to timely discharge. Processes patient discharges.
Maintains adequate levels of office, dietary, and medical supplies and completes requisition forms when supplies need to be ordered. Reconciles supply order upon delivery.
Monitors and tracks the use and whereabouts of electronic equipment such as patient ID scanners and lap top computers. Ensures that all are accounted for and in working order.
This position works under local supervision and has responsibility for assigned unit only. Incumbents work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment with a strong focus on customer service. Interacts with other health unit secretaries and other staff at all levels throughout the facility. Customers are patients, families, physicians, unit staff, case managers, patient service staff and medical records staff. Interacts with a wide variety of external customers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Requires skills and abilities typically attained with 1 year of medical clerical experience; preferably in a hospital or physician office setting, or prior experience in customer service. Must possess excellent organizational skills, as well as effective human relations and communication skills. Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, Boswell Skilled Nursing Facility or the Whole Health Clinic must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.
Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy is required. The position requires knowledge of commonly used office software and keyboarding skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Successful completion of an approved unit secretary program and BLS certification is preferred.

The Banner University Medical Center-Tucson Postpartum Mother-Baby department delivers professional and compassionate care to the mother baby dyad from birth until discharge. Our Mother-Baby unit cares for up to 24 postpartum couplets with a family-centered focus. Our highly skilled team includes experienced bedside registered nurses, licensed nursing assistants, and IBCLC certified RN lactation consultants and lactation counselors I and II (caregivers that have additional lactation education and training) that care for the physical and emotional needs of newly delivered mothers and babies. Our lactation team consults to Labor and Delivery, NICU, pediatrics, and the Postpartum units.
Banner Health offers prenatal classes and support groups on all aspects of breastfeeding and lactation, including milk supply, preventing, and managing pain, pumping, milk storage and working while breastfeeding. Our certified consultants focus on preventive care to promote successful breastfeeding from the start and act as a resource for outpatient breastfeeding questions and concerns
As the Lactation Consultant, you will review and assesses risk, provide consultation with patients who require assistance, and document pertinent information appropriately. You will develop and evaluate educational programs and resources for the mother baby unit, NICU, and training of the newly hired lactation consultants. Utilize and monitor aseptic technique and infection control precautions. Will also participate and attend programs offered by professional affiliations related to lactation certification. This is an evening position, 1:30pm-12:00am, working 3 days-10 hour schedule with weekend night coverage. Enjoy an 18%-night shift differential and $3 flat rate of weekend differential.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards for professional practice and certification. The position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients. This position delivers lactation education and provides individualized direct patient and family education. Works in coordination with staff to select and deliver current patient education materials based on identified needs. Provides community and staff education in the specialty area of lactation. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members. Provides care and works collaboratively with patients, family and staff to formulate individualized lactation plans of care, education and intervention.
Delivers continuing education programs related to lactation. Suggests updates to educational materials based on needs assessment, advances in theory and technology as well as changes in standards of care related to lactation.
Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input. Initiates a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data and the medical plan of care. Goal for patient are realistic, measurable and developed in conjunction with the patient/family.
Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to the caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided.
Evaluates the patient's and family's response to care and teaching, and revises the plan of care as needed. Evaluates patient progress toward goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members. Evaluates patient's response and effectiveness of patient teaching. Provides ongoing support for mothers, newborns and staff related to lactation.
Documents assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record.
Provides care based on the best evidence available and may participate in research activities within clinical practice. Participates in unit or facility shared leadership. Interacts and participates in the education, role development, and orientation of facility personnel, patients, students, families and visitors. Promotes/supports growth of others through precepting and mentoring when appropriate.
Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Interacts with other health care providers in numerous settings in order to report and ask for or clarify information. Also works with clergy to provide spiritual support. Synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the human response of the patient and family to changes in health status.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Current RN licensure in state of practice. IBCLC, CLC, CBC or CBS certification required. Current BLS certification required. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification must be obtained within six months.
Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Must maintain clinical performance competencies.
Pool/per diem positions require a minimum of one year of lactation consultant experience in a WIS environment or setting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
BSN preferred. One year of experience preferred. Experience in an inpatient WIS environment is preferred.

Banner Lassen Medical Center is looking for a Registered Nurse to work in the Women & Infant Services department in Susanville, California. Banner Lassen Medical Center offers the latest in state-of-the-art equipment for optimal patient care and outcomes. Be part of a multidisciplinary team where the physicians work in close collaboration with the nursing staff. The facility is designated as a Blue Distinction Center for maternity care. This is a low risk birthing center with a Level I nursery. The unit averages 20-25 deliveries per month and is staffed with a minimum of two RN's per shift. POSITION SUMMARY
This position will prepare, dispense, and compound medication under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care, as well as, implementing and evaluating direct patient care. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and skills to provide an excellent patient experience.

May administer medications in accordance with established policies and procedures or as directed.
Provides clerical support with patient/client notifications and documentation to include but not limited to complete medical records including labs, authorizations, X-Rays, hospital records and any previous care pertaining to each patient visit. Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas. May coordinate the admission process including new resident evaluations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

POSITION SUMMARY

Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. Delegates appropriately, and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel. The Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Science (at the University of Arizona-Tucson and Banner University Medical Group) is actively seeking a fellowship-trained Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Specialist to join our growing Department led by Dr. Jonathan M. Holmes. The Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus team alsoincludes Mireille N. Jabroun MD, Rita M. Bhakta OD, J. Daniel Twelker OD PhD and Erin M. Harvey PhD.
Position Detail:
The selected individual will be responsible for the surgical and non-surgical management of pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus patients. Clinical services are provided at the Banner University Medicine Ophthalmology Clinic in Tucson, with coverage for two medical center campuses located within 15 minutes from the clinic. Our residency program has 4 residents per year and an enthusiastic commitment to teaching is desired. The preferred candidate will also possess strong research interests, either in clinical research, basic science research, or both.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position will work under the supervision of the pharmacist. Performs routine duties in packaging, distribution and record keeping of pharmaceutical supplies. Assists in preparing compounded and intravenous medications, total parenteral nutrition products, and chemotherapeutic agents. Consistently demonstrates an ability to assess a situation, consider alternatives, and choose the appropriate course of action. May work with the Pharmacist in processing physician orders for medications by entering information in to the medication management system in an unverified status. Under the supervision of the pharmacist, assesses and formulates potential recommendations to physicians and provides information to physicians, nurses, and others regarding topics relating to the medication use system. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients being served.
CORE FUNCTIONS
Selects and/or prepares medications, under direct supervision, as indicated on the patient medication orders. Places medications in patient boxes or in designated area for pharmacist to review, sends/delivers medications to nursing units as required. Investigates missing medication requests Charges/credits patients for medications and intravenous solutions as appropriate. Restocks unused and credited returned medications.
Attends to customers and answers telephones in a courteous and timely manner. Serves as a liaison between the customer and the pharmacist.
Using automated dispensing technology or requisition, restocks medications to nursing and ancillary areas after checked by a pharmacist. Restocks medications to all areas outside automated dispensing technology which may include but not be limited to trays, code carts and emergency boxes. Adds users to the automatic dispensing technology database as per policy. Investigates discrepancies in automated dispensing technology. Troubleshoots automated technology malfunctions.
Identifies medications and other items for reorder as necessary to maintain a continuous inventory of medications and supplies. Receives, checks-in, and restocks medications ordered through wholesaler and other vendors.
Compounds specialty drug products. Repackages bulk medications into unit of use packaging. Completes accurate documentation of items compounded and repackaged.
Assists in preparing and labeling of intravenous medication orders including total parenteral nutrition products and chemotherapy products using proper sterile and aseptic technique.
Under the supervision of a pharmacist, utilizes education and pharmacy skills in assessing and formulating potential recommendations to physicians to help ensure quality and economical drug therapy, and positive patient outcomes. May provide information (under pharmacist supervision) to physicians, nurses, and others regarding medication therapy, medication systems, drug product guidelines, laws and regulations, medication formulary, and other topics related to the medication use system. Medication assessments may be performed with special consideration given to medication safety and the needs of the specific patient age groups served.
Performs quality control activities such as monthly nursing unit checks and pharmacy section checks in a timely manner. Completes documentation on refrigerator temperatures, intravenous hood cleaning, and equipment maintenance activities as required.
Participates in all aspects of medication use, including (1) selection, procurement and storage, (2) dispensing, (3) monitoring of all medications utilized. Internal customers may include Patients, Nurses, Licensed Independent Practitioners, Nursing Directors, Department Directors, Administrators and other health care team members for the purpose of integrating services, improving patient care and ensuring effective communication systems. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be attending an accredited school of Pharmacy.
Requires current and unrestricted pharmacy intern licensure in the state of practice.

Must possess good organizational, problem solving and computer skills. Assists with transporting patients, including pre-operative and immediate post-operative patients to critical care unit. Participates in OR room turnover.
