Our Float Pool Team supports all of the inpatient units within each of our hospitals- Banner North Colorado Medical Center (NCMC) in Greeley, Banner McKee Medical Center in Loveland, and Banner Fort Collins Medical Center, though 80% of the shifts will be at NCMC. POSITION SUMMARY

This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  1. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members. Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers. Completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and as outlined in policy.

  2. Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input. Initiates a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data and the medical plan of care. Goals for patient are realistic, measurable and developed in conjunction with the patient/family. Considers the physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age specific and educational needs of the patient in the plan of are. Plans care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team. Reviews and revises the plan of care to reflect changing patient needs based on evaluation of the patient's status.

  3. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. Delegates appropriately, and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided.

  4. Evaluates the patient's and family's response to care and teaching, and revises the plan of care as needed. Evaluates patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members. Evaluates patient's response and the effectiveness of patient teaching.

  5. Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record. Documentation is legible, timely and in accordance with policy. Documentation reflects objective/subjective data, nursing interventions and patient's response to treatment. Notes physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.

  6. Provides care based on the best evidence available and may participate in research activities within clinical practice. Participates in unit or facility shared leadership. Interacts and participates in the education, role development, and orientation of facility personnel, patients, students, families and visitors. Promotes/supports growth of others through precepting and mentoring when appropriate.

  7. Contributes to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and safe care. Actively participates in the improvement of national nursing quality indicators and outcomes. Such activities may include participating in professional organizations.

  8. In some roles, this position may supervise staff and work flow of the department.

9.Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Interacts with other health care providers in numerous settings in order to report and ask for or clarify information. Also works with clergy to provide spiritual support. Synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the human response of the patient and family to changes in health status.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.

Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations. Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area. Banner Registry and Travel physician practice positions require a minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse in a physician practice or an acute care setting. Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, Banner Home Care/Hospice or Boswell Skilled Nursing Facility must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. Employees working at Banner MD Anderson on the Banner University Medical Center Phoenix campus must possess a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. This is a requirement of the Whole Family Counseling Program held at this specific facility. Employees working in the Banner McKee Senior Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit must possess an Colorado Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. Employees working in any Banner Staffing (BSS) Behavioral Health role in Arizona must possess a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 hour shifts with the option to work 4, 10-hour days once fully trained.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position coordinates a smooth patient flow process by answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, providing registration of patient and insurance information, obtaining required signatures following established processes, procedures and standards. This position also verifies insurance coverage, validates referrals and authorizations, collects patient liability and provides financial guidance to patients to maximize medical services reimbursement efforts. This also includes accurately posting patients at the point of service and releasing information in accordance with organizational and compliance policies and guidelines.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  1. Performs registration/check-in processes, including but not limited to performing data entry activities, providing patients with appropriate information and intake forms, obtaining necessary signatures and generating population health summary.

  2. Verifies insurance eligibility benefits for services rendered with the payors and documents appropriately. Assists in obtaining or validating pre-certification, referrals, and authorizations

  3. Calculates and collects patient liability according to verification of insurance benefits and expected reimbursement. Explains and provides financial policies and available resources for alternative payment arrangements to patients and their families.

  4. Enters payments/charges for services rendered and performs daily payment/charge reconciliation in a timely and accurate manner. Balances cash drawer at the beginning and end of the day and prepares daily bank deposit with necessary paperwork sent to centralized billing for record purposes.

  5. Schedules office visits and procedures within the medical practice(s) and external practices as necessary. Maximizes reimbursement by scheduling patients in accordance with payor plan provisions. Confirms patient appointments for the following day as necessary and ensures patients are properly prepared for visits.

  6. Demonstrates proactive interpersonal communications skills while dealing with patient concerns through telephone calls, emails and in-person conversations. Optimizes patient flow by using effective customer service/communication skills by communicating to internal and external customers, care team, management, centralized services and HIMS.

  7. Assists in responding to requests for patient medical records according to company policies and procedures, and state and federal laws.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position supervises operational, technical, and personnel activities associated with Environmental Services. Manages department use of labor, supplies, vendors, inventory levels and other controllables within budget guidelines while assuring optimal service to all clinical and non-clinical departments within the hospital/facility.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  1. Supervises all Environmental Services personnel and daily work in assigned areas throughout medical center campuses and other associated buildings in an effective, efficient manner that enhances service levels while providing appropriate control of expense budgets, staffing and the effectual resolution of interdepartmental and personnel problems. Processes and maintains records of accounts payable, supplies received, equipment maintenance, and other department business.

  3. Performs daily patient rounding and inspection of assigned areas to assure hospital standards for cleanliness are met.   4. Schedules special projects and monitors equipment and furniture moves for all hospital departments; tracks inventories and movements in computer software program. POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients using the medication use process. A Clinical Staff Pharmacist is accountable for documentation of all components of pharmaceutical care they deliver to patients. Documents activities related to patient care in the electronic medical record and other electronic databases as applicable (e.g. pharmacist to pharmacist/provider communication, adverse drug event reporting, and clinical interventions).

  4. Drives their professional development through the utilization of BPS educational resources to achieve competence in the current and future BH acute pharmacy core clinical practices and activities. Additionally, assist with training and onboarding of new staff as applicable.

  5. Prepares and dispenses medications, including sterile or non-sterile compounded medications, in an accurate and timely manner in compliance with company policies and procedures and established regulatory requirements. Coordinates medication preparation and distribution and ensures accuracy prior to dispensing medications.

  6. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, which may include management of technology, inventory management, and accurate record keeping. Supervises and directs the work of pharmacy technicians, interns, and students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires unrestricted Pharmacist licensure in the state of practice and a degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy.

If not licensed in the state of practice, must have completed the Board of Pharmacy application process within 30 days of job offer. Must be licensed within 90 days of hire unless the delay is due to the State Board of Pharmacy.

Banner Registry and Travel positions require a current and unrestricted Pharmacist license (not intern) at the time of hire and a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a pharmacist in the specialty area.

Must possess good organizational, problem solving, and computer skills. Requires national certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) based on modalities in which they will be conducting work and licensure by the state regulatory agency as applicable. As of August 1, 2019, all Multi-Modality Technologist's hired on or after August 1,2019 will be required to have an advance certification by an accrediting body in a specialty if applicable. BLS certification required.

This position requires clinical knowledge typically achieved with 2 years of Radiologic Technologist experience. POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the evaluation, planning, administration and supervision of Physical Therapy treatment in accordance with physician referral, state and national organizational standards, regulatory agencies, and established departmental policies and procedures. This position demonstrates the clinical competence and knowledge necessary to provide treatment appropriate to the age of the patients served.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  1. Evaluates patient's functional abilities and limitations. Determines if intervention is needed. Establishes a plan of care and treatment goals. Completes comprehensive evaluation within the established time frame set by the department. Identifies and prioritizes key limiting factors. Establishes treatment goals that are functional, measurable, patient related and reflects the key limiting factors. Collaborates with patient and family/caregiver when setting goals. Initiates discharge planning. Recommends additions to or modifications of referring orders.

  2. Implements individualized treatment plan with consideration to the patient's physical, social, spiritual, cultural, educational and age specific needs. Provides skilled treatment in a safe manner. Assesses ongoing effectiveness of treatment and modifies plan of care as indicated. Involves patient and family/caregiver in the treatment and decision making process. Provides ongoing education to physician, nurse, patient, family/caregiver, and interdisciplinary team.

  3. Documents according to professional practice guidelines set by regulatory agencies. Documents legibly. Completes documentation within the established time frames of the department. Documents evidence based and individualized treatment techniques/plan. Documentation reflects skilled intervention and comprehensive assessment of the patient's progress or lack of progress. Treatment goals are reassessed according to department policies.

  4. Communicates pertinent patient information to ensure the best possible follow through of care. Communicates evaluation/treatment results and patient progress to physicians, nurses, patient, family/caregiver, and interdisciplinary team. Communicates in a clear and timely manner. Accepts responsibility to contact physicians for routine or difficult problem solving to ensure optimal patient outcome. Defends treatment rationale with standard practices and/or current literature.

  5. Exhibits adaptability in assignments as it relates to caseload, scheduling, and staffing shifts. Takes initiative to assist in other patient care areas and accepts responsibility for all patient care needs.

  6. Demonstrates appropriate supervision and delegation of personnel to achieve safe delivery of quality cost effective patient care. Supervision and delegation of the PTA, ATC, Therapy Technician and student complies with department policies and regulatory agencies. Participates in the training and orientation of new personnel. Assures competency of personnel, prior to delegation of task.

  7. Department operational activities. Attends department required meetings and/or follows up to obtain pertinent information. Participates in departmental/facility process improvement. Meets productivity standards set by the department.

  8. This position has responsibility for interacting with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts such as employees of other health care institutions, community provides and agencies concerning the health care of the patient. Also interacts with the physician offices in order to report, request or clarify information.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must have graduated from an APTA accredited school of Physical Therapy, or equivalent.

Must possess a current Physical Therapy license within the State of practice. BLS certification required.

Relates throughout the interview process their clinical competency, experience, training and education they have received that is required to perform the job. Demonstrates through behaviors and answers to job related experiential questions. POSITION SUMMARY

Provides coding and abstracting for mid-tiered complexity range of acute care services at all Banner hospitals. Reviews diagnosis and diagnostic information and codes and abstracts diagnoses and/or procedures on inpatient records using ICD CM and PCS coding classification systems. Completes MS-DRG and APR-DRG assignments on inpatient records as appropriate. Ensures ethical and accurate coding in accordance with all regulatory requirements and AHIMA Standards of Ethical Coding.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  1. Analyzes medical information from medical records. Accurately codes diagnostic and procedural information in accordance with national coding guidelines and appropriate reimbursement requirements. Consults with medical providers to clarify missing or inadequate record information and to determine appropriate diagnostic and procedure codes. Provides timely and accurate coding in accordance to department specific productivity and quality standards thorough assignment of ICD CM and PCS codes, MS-DRGs, APR-DRGs and POAs for mid-tiered complexity range of acute care services at all Banner hospitals.

  2. Abstracts clinical diagnoses, procedure codes and documents other pertinent information obtained from the patient encounter. Seeks out missing information and creates complete records, including items such as disease and procedure codes, discharge disposition, date of surgery, attending physician, consulting physicians, surgeons and anesthesiologists. Refers inconsistent patient treatment information or documentation to coding support tech, coding quality analyst or coding manager for clarification/additional information for accurate code assignment.

  3. Provides coding quality assurance for medical records. For all assigned records and/or areas assures compliance with coding rules and regulations according to regulatory agencies for state Medicaid plans, Center for Medicare Services (CMS), Office of the Inspector General (OIG) and the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA), as well as company and applicable professional standards. Ability to address related and complex matters independently with regard to interpretation of coding guidelines.

  4. May provide mentoring for less experienced staff members.

  5. Works under general supervision using specialized expertise in the subject matter. Works within a set of defined rules. Ability to address related and complex matters independently with regard to interpretation of coding guidelines prior to referral to senior manager, educator or Coding Quality Analyst.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge and specialized formal training in medical record keeping principles and practices, anatomy, physiology, pathology, medical terminology, standard nomenclature, and classification of diagnoses and operations, or an Associate's degree in a health care field.

Requires Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administration (RHIA) or other appropriate coding certification in an active status with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).

Clinical Care Operations is the hub of patient management for the campus, including: bed assignment, unit staffing, house supervision, emergency preparedness (code events and internal disasters), patient transports, dispatch, and data analysis. Several employee groups report to this department, including clinical positions such as RN House Senior Managers, SWAT RNs, and Resource Team (RNs, NAs, PCAs, HUCs, and BHTs) plus non-clinical roles such as Office Supervisor, Transport Supervisor, Placement Liaison, and Information Specialist.

As a Staffing Coordinator / Placement Liaison, you will play a vital role in coordinating staff coverage throughout the assigned hospital to ensure a high level of patient care. In addition, you will provide administrative support for the entire Clinical Care Operations department. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, managing multiple tasks, and working within a variety of software programs.

This is a full-time day shift position, working 36 hours per week (3-12 hour shifts, 6am-6:30pm), with rotating weekends. Weekend and holiday rotations are required in this role. Enjoy a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-night shift differential when applicable.

POSITION SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARY

This position provides for driving cost effective quality and safety management services for Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC). This position oversees cancer data capture, analyses, and reporting; manages significant clinical event investigations, ensures peer review, decision support, coordination of regulatory and accreditation compliance and surveys (Joint Commission, DHS, CMS), patient safety, process improvement, and all other required quality related activities. All work processed by the incumbent is considered confidential and protected from discovery, pursuant to state statutes.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  1. Oversees cancer data capture, analyses, and reporting. Ensures tumor registry data is captured in a manner that is timely and as cost effectively as possible, utilizing automation as possible. Shares quality data as required by the MD Anderson partnership agreement. Supervises and coordinates all quality and safety programs that are administered within clinical divisions, departments and/or disease-site programs. Supports clinical leadership in fulfilling their stewardship over quality and safety.

  2. Analyzes incidents, sentinel events, and risk outcomes with administrators, physicians, clinical leaders, and staff to identify improvement opportunities utilizing quantitative techniques and knowledge of health care operations and systems thinking. Manages significant clinical events and root cause analysis, including peer review, process improvement, tracking and reporting of processes, policies, and procedures. Eliminates sources of error, including identifying causes of variation, implementing systems and processes to facilitate effective clinical practice and error reduction.

  3. Ensures and supports integration and standardization of process across the organization. Supports/Leads in development, implementation, and migration of best practices for safe clinical practice and outcomes at the system or business level. Ensures state of the art data systems and accurate and reliable data acquisition, including analysis and inter-rater reliability of data to support clinical and administrative decision making. Obtains and uses literature, best practice, and benchmark data whenever possible.

  4. Coordinates closely with Banner insurance division to develop and implement value-base care goals for cancer physicians and cancer care delivery. Leads CMS value-based programs specific to Oncology. Recommends and oversees the development and implementation of short- and long-range goals and objectives and determines the optimal progression. Reviews analyses, and reports of various activities to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives. Supports the development and achievement of department budgets in conjunction with these goals and in accordance with company standards.

  5. Provides leadership to assure compliance with federal and state regulatory programs and accreditation requirements, as well as established organizational policies and procedures aligned with the MD Anderson Cancer Center partnership. Internal Customers include all assigned facility administrators, physicians, staff and corporate administrators, management team and staff. External customers include accreditation and regulatory organizations, peer review organizations, payers, patients, physicians, clinical registries, and databases.

  6. If requested, may provide oversight for Infection Prevention and/or Employee Health, Patient Relations programs. Responsibilities may include managing the employee health services for all healthcare care workers; developing and executing adult immunization programs, education, exposure management, screening and surveillance; maintaining confidential employee health records and environmental exposure records; providing pre-placement health evaluations for new employees and ongoing counseling and education; managing the worker's compensation program including filing claims, maintaining regulatory records and managing the modified duty return to work program. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires Master's degree in healthcare related field or experience consistent with Master's degree.

Must have a proficiency level typically attained with five years experience in patient safety/quality management. Requires at least two years management experience or demonstrated leadership abilities through successful large- scale projects.

Must possess demonstrated flexibility in responding to the needs of multiple constituencies with a service-oriented philosophy. Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate interdisciplinary teams.
