The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for an Associate Science and Medicine Advisor in our National Center office located in Dallas, TX (flexible work arrangements available) . The incumbent will provide technical and scientific input for AHA sponsorship related grants acvities. The position will work in the Science and Medicine team to fulfill the science support to grant-related iniatives.

Responsibilities
Provide consultation, guidance, and approval review on science/clinical aspects to grant-related program initiatives, including input on public and professional programs, patient and lay publications, corporate relations and marketing materials with health and science implications and other public or professional facing activities.
Provide staff support to grant-related science advisory bodies and serves as the liaison to the American Heart Association Council and Science Committees
Work with grant-related program team to help develop and review content for professional, public, and community-facing products and ensures content is current and accurate.
Provides leadership and guidance to effectively translate science and guidelines specific to the sponsorship or grant to teams producing on-line and face-to-face educational programs, practice resources, and patient educational tool.
Serves as grant-related science/clinical representative/spokesperson, as appropriate and as needed; engages in science-science meetings with corporate relations and sponsors
Maintains understanding of and adherence to the Office of Science and Medicine's processes and policies to successfully execute on role
Researches, identifies and establishes opportunities to enhance American Heart Association /ASA Office of Science knowledge base through individual or assigned involvement in scientific meetings, review of literature, consulting with clinical practitioners, and monitoring legislation or other public action.

Qualifications
Clinical and educational experience in the cardiovascular, neuroscience or related fields OR Master's degree in Public Health or related field required
Minimum of five (5) years of clinical or research experience in the cardiovascular, neuroscience or related fields.
Superior writing & communication skills; publication history in peer revewed journals, preferred.
Ability to understand, integrate and summarize scientific literature.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with professional volunteers, staff, and the public as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple, complex projects in varying stages of development under time constraints.
Proficient with standard office software packages, including basic knowledge of PC-based database applications and web browsers.
Must be able to travel overnight approx. 25% of the time.

Knowledge of voluntary health organizations or nonprofit organizations.

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for providing Get with The GuidelinesR (GWTG) and certification program(s) advanced account services and building on established relationships with hospital, health system, and/or National Corporate customers as well as EMS agencies and outpatient and/or post-acute facilities. Responsible for leading post-sales process, customer retention, and activities to insure excellence and attention to details of the sales support and service effort. Engage with clients at hospitals, healthcare systems, post-acute facilities, ambulatory/outpatient settings, or EMS organizations to implement and deliver program and product services, including active data collection, decision support tools, best practice sharing, quality improvement consultation, and how to build a program site team/infrastructure for success
Provide exceptional account support to build and maintain a positive relationship in collaboration with region American Heart Association staff and leadership. Review program participation and opportunities for expansion into additional quality programs. Skilled in seeking out program/product champions at the customer site, relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers/influencers in C-suite or executive service line positions as well as essential relationships with front line leaders and data abstractors
Organize, plan, and deliver both accredited and non-accredited workshops
Collaborate with sales team on the development and implementation of comprehensive territory/state plans to achieve organizational goals, generate revenue and reduce health disparities
Document activities in customer relationship management tools such as Microsoft Dynamics. Provide access and delivery of information through GWTG Registry Platform and other Health IT systems Record and report on account interactions and execution of the supported initiative including tracking progress and reporting
Consult with appropriate hospital teams to identify and resolve quality measures compliance issues and facilitate program participation progress and optimization of program and product value and return on investment

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
Required to reside in the Eastern or Central time zones of USA
Two (2) - Five (5) years of proven experience
Experience in an acute care hospital working directly on cardiovascular clinical quality or process improvement projects, or a national cardiac clinical quality improvement program that incorporates data capture within process improvement framework
Experience in hospital/healthcare systems for Cardiovascular services, including coronary artery disease (STEMI/N-STEMI), Resuscitation, Heart Failure, and/or Atrial Fibrillation
Excellent skills in advanced PowerPoint, Word and Excel and delivering presentations to both large and small groups
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
Confident in working virtually with customers through platforms such as MS Teams and Zoom
Excellent oral and written communication
Ability to travel up to 30% local and overnight stay
Preferred Skills:
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or Certified Health Education Specialist, or a clinical degree
Lean and Six Sigma skills are a plus

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for providing Get with The GuidelinesR (GWTG) and certification program(s) advanced account services and building on established relationships with hospital, health system, and/or National Corporate customers as well as EMS agencies and outpatient and/or post-acute facilities. Responsible for leading post-sales process, customer retention, and activities to insure excellence and attention to details of the sales support and service effort. Also, responsible for daily operations and implementation of client supported projects, program, or promotion, including issue management, tracking, and reporting on achievement to defined goals. Demonstrate knowledge of Quality Improvement skills related to program and products and have the aptitude to acquire a working knowledge of Information Technology as it relates to the program/product after training. Able to apply knowledge to the field of account management responsibility.
Engage with clients at hospitals, healthcare systems, post-acute facilities, ambulatory/outpatient settings, or EMS organizations to implement and deliver program and product services, including active data collection, decision support tools, best practice sharing, quality improvement consultation, and how to build a program site team/infrastructure for success
Provide exceptional account support to build and maintain a positive relationship in collaboration with region American Heart Association staff and leadership. Review program participation and opportunities for expansion into additional quality programs. Skilled in seeking out program/product champions at the customer site, relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers/influencers in C-suite or executive service line positions as well as essential relationships with front line leaders and data abstractors
Organize, plan, and deliver both accredited and non-accredited workshops
Collaborate with sales team on the development and implementation of comprehensive territory/state plans to achieve organizational goals, generate revenue and reduce health disparities
Document activities in customer relationship management tools such as Microsoft Dynamics. Provide access and delivery of information through GWTG Registry Platform and other Health IT systems Record and report on account interactions and execution of the supported initiative including tracking progress and reporting
Consult with appropriate hospital teams to identify and resolve quality measures compliance issues and facilitate program participation progress and optimization of program and product value and return on investment

Qualifications

Qualifications

Strong project management of vendors and agencies, in a variety of marketing venues (print, video, photography, PR, strategic planning collaborations, etc.), as well as brand management and compliance oversight. Research and maintain information on internal/external environmental trends, as well as provide measurable ROI on all campaigns. Manage ongoing relationships with internal and external audiences, including but not limited to corporate sponsors, strategic partners, vendors, agencies, and volunteers on the development, production and implementation of key initiatives.
Maintain and increase Scientific Sessions abstract submissions and registration attendance, as well as increase Professional Membership, Scientific Publishing subscribers and Research applicants by coordinating, developing and directing all functions for marketing Scientific Sessions, journals/books and/or research programs. Specific Council and membership marketing campaigns highlighting offerings at SS geared toward each audience. Increase abstract submission and webinar registration for the Emerging Science Series. Direct, manage and develop staff to meet the department and AHA goals, if applicable. Oversee temps and also dotted line of Professional Education position; to assist with Scientific Sessions workload. Also, oversee the Manager of Awards and Lectures to streamline the marketing and communication for SS and for all conferences to cross promote and add value to AHA members/potential members. Establish trusted communication with senior level volunteers and anticipate needs and expectations to grow both Scientific Sessions and Emerging Science Series. Weekly interaction and implementation of marketing indicatives to grow both Scientific Sessions and the Emerging Science Series. Senior level reporting on all SS initiatives from abstract submissions, to registration trends and numbers to various marketing projects.
Working with OSO, internal departments and affiliates to meet department goals and establish OSO as a leader in AHA. Collaborations involve C-Level staff and volunteers.
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Foster alliances with cross functional teams internally and externally, in both the domestic market and An example for an internal customer is creating a marketing plan that includes all appropriate initiatives for growing conference abstract submissions and attendance. An example for an external customer is working with fulfillment vendor launch registration campaigns in order to increase awareness and attendance to Scientific Sessions. Manage the market planning for Sci-Sessions registration, call for abstracts submissions, and specialty tracks/programming, as well as membership related marketing in conjunction with SS, print design and production for minimum of 15 print pieces, direct mail, e-mail campaigns for 18 different segments, as well as 120 broadcast emails for Scientific Sessions, 40 for Emerging Science Series Journal ads for advertising, videos for promotion, web content development, on-site signage and promotional programs as well all other aspects of marketing and any research studies needed.
Lead all market research efforts and surveys, as well as the reporting of results and future year planning based on these results. Research best practices, competitors, growing registration and call for abstracts reach, as well as targeted international growth and regional growth. Assist with surveys and market research to evaluate and adjust marketing efforts to better meet our attendees needs. Additional projects as needed: Specialty programming, council activities at Sessions, photography, social media, final reports, executive summaries, higher print and digital projects, vendor management, project management, convention bureau liaison.
Understand and market the overall AHA/ASA Scientific Sessions Conference and its benefits through various marketing mediums to the cardiovascular science community, in order to retain current submitters and attendees, as well as increase the reach/awareness/and attendance of Scientific Sessions.

Responsibilities
This individual will be responsible for leading the development of CPR, first aid, healthcare, and other global health sciences content, learning programs, and products. This position will actively collaborate with a cross-functional project teams as well as engage with subject matter experts, organizations, and developers from around the world. The Product Manager will provide direction for the design and development, revision, fiscal management, and quality standards for assigned content and products by (1) working with a project manager to develop project plans, proposals, and procedures; (2) leading the development and production from start to finish; (3) collaborating with AHA staff, volunteers and paid resources; (4) maintaining fiscal oversight and adherence to established budgets; and (5) ongoing evaluation and revisions for the life of the product.
Collaborates with the Project Manager, Program Manager, and Marketing, to define project scope, establish product requirements, draft contracts, and design the development plan
Develops an understanding of the intended audience, science, instructional strategy, and modes of delivery for assigned products. Learns about current user needs and product issues. Demonstrates an understanding of the reasoning behind key policies, practices, and procedures and applies such to content as appropriate
Leads project teams in the evaluation, curation, and/or creation of content and product assets that are relevant, valid, and accurate to an industry or topic for a given portfolio of products. Inclusive of the development of multimedia deliverables and assets (e.g., videos, e-learning modules, simulation scenarios, books/e-books, apps, websites, etc.) for assigned programs and products
Ensures content and deliverables meet the identified learning objectives, course description, and instructional strategy, and does not compromise the fidelity of the core learning. Ensures content does not compromise the integrity, intent, or the fidelity of the AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC, ASA Guidelines, ACC/AHA Guidelines, or the core science (applicable science)
Leads validation of products through beta and pilot tests, coordinates reviews and the collection of feedback, facilitates determination and implementation of changes, and confirms accurate implementation of edits or changes. Manages testing of prototypes throughout development
Coordinates and collaborates with Science & Medicine Advisors, Subject Matter Experts, foreign scientific authority, and the project team to achieve approval and signoff of content and product
Reviews and triages issues and potential errors or recommendations for the content or product received from the field. Works with technical staff to troubleshoot problems reported by users
Ensures project team adherence to a general product development process and established timelines used across the department and develops sub-processes for project-specific tasks as needed
Proactively collaborates across project teams to ensure products efficacy and consistently forms productive and collaborative partnerships with team members and stakeholders at all levels Effectively uses informal authority to direct, influence, and motivate others. Solicits and acts on feedback to improve relationships and mission impact
Liaises with and fosters relationships with applicable and related science committees and external agencies / organizations
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Five (5) - Eight (8) years of proven experience
Validated skills and direct participation in the development of scientific, technical, or medical content, including experience working with subject matter experts and formal review process.
Experience leading program/product development projects.
Experience developing eLearning and other digital products that meet accessibility requirements. Validated ability to deliver complex eLearning modules on schedule.
Project management experience.
Instructional design experience.
Healthcare background preferred; required for candidates who will work with advanced healthcare content.
High level of detail orientation, without losing sight of the broader vision.
Ability to make a timely decision while considering multiple factors and opinions.
Ability to travel up to 20% local and overnight stay
