Responsibilities

This individual will be responsible for leading the development of CPR, first aid, healthcare, and other global health sciences content, learning programs, and products. This position will actively collaborate with a cross-functional project teams as well as engage with subject matter experts, organizations, and developers from around the world. The Product Manager will provide direction for the design and development, revision, fiscal management, and quality standards for assigned content and products by (1) working with a project manager to develop project plans, proposals, and procedures; (2) leading the development and production from start to finish; (3) collaborating with AHA staff, volunteers and paid resources; (4) maintaining fiscal oversight and adherence to established budgets; and (5) ongoing evaluation and revisions for the life of the product.

  • Collaborates with the Project Manager, Program Manager, and Marketing, to define project scope, establish product requirements, draft contracts, and design the development plan

  • Develops an understanding of the intended audience, science, instructional strategy, and modes of delivery for assigned products. Learns about current user needs and product issues. Demonstrates an understanding of the reasoning behind key policies, practices, and procedures and applies such to content as appropriate

  • Leads project teams in the evaluation, curation, and/or creation of content and product assets that are relevant, valid, and accurate to an industry or topic for a given portfolio of products. Inclusive of the development of multimedia deliverables and assets (e.g., videos, e-learning modules, simulation scenarios, books/e-books, apps, websites, etc.) for assigned programs and products

  • Ensures content and deliverables meet the identified learning objectives, course description, and instructional strategy, and does not compromise the fidelity of the core learning. Ensures content does not compromise the integrity, intent, or the fidelity of the AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC, ASA Guidelines, ACC/AHA Guidelines, or the core science (applicable science)

  • Leads validation of products through beta and pilot tests, coordinates reviews and the collection of feedback, facilitates determination and implementation of changes, and confirms accurate implementation of edits or changes. Manages testing of prototypes throughout development

  • Coordinates and collaborates with Science & Medicine Advisors, Subject Matter Experts, foreign scientific authority, and the project team to achieve approval and signoff of content and product

  • Reviews and triages issues and potential errors or recommendations for the content or product received from the field. Works with technical staff to troubleshoot problems reported by users

  • Ensures project team adherence to a general product development process and established timelines used across the department and develops sub-processes for project-specific tasks as needed

  • Proactively collaborates across project teams to ensure products efficacy and consistently forms productive and collaborative partnerships with team members and stakeholders at all levels Effectively uses informal authority to direct, influence, and motivate others. Solicits and acts on feedback to improve relationships and mission impact

  • Liaises with and fosters relationships with applicable and related science committees and external agencies / organizations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • Five (5) - Eight (8) years of proven experience

  • Validated skills and direct participation in the development of scientific, technical, or medical content, including experience working with subject matter experts and formal review process.

  • Experience leading program/product development projects.

  • Experience developing eLearning and other digital products that meet accessibility requirements. Validated ability to deliver complex eLearning modules on schedule.

  • Project management experience.

  • Instructional design experience.

  • Healthcare background preferred; required for candidates who will work with advanced healthcare content.

  • High level of detail orientation, without losing sight of the broader vision.

  • Ability to make a timely decision while considering multiple factors and opinions.

  • Ability to travel up to 20% local and overnight stay

Digital Multimedia Production Internship

The Digital Multimedia Production team is responsible for delivering live online content to internal and external audiences. Qualifications

  • 2+ year's experience working with community/public health issues and/or managing community/public health promotion or related educational programs.

  • Understanding of local health systems, relationships with hospitals, health clinics, and Federally Qualified Health Centers preferred.

  • Proven ability to recruit, mobilize and manage volunteers, including C-suite level executives.

  • Bachelor's or some college plus experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills in assessing the local market environment and available resources to successfully implement new and existing programs.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage large projects and events ensuring deadline compliance.

  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently participate in a multi-disciplinary team environment working towards common goals with internal and external clients. Ability to influence team members without supervisory authority.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties:

  • Leads all aspects of advance registration and reservation processes and serves as liaison with vendors to provide a user-friendly process for registrants. Establishes timelines, processes and scopes of work for registration and housing programs for all assigned conferences.

  • Advises housing process and serves as liaison with housing vendor and hotels to ensure that all meeting attendees who require hotel rooms will be accommodated and served.

  • Assists with housing and registration vendor negotiations and management ensuring service level agreements are met.

  • Conducts site visits, at convention center and hotels as needed, with registration vendor and housing vendor to determine layout of on- site registration; manages on-site registration during the event.

  • Coordinates temporary personnel as needed for convention center to ensure adequate support for AHA staff in all aspects of convention management.

  • Manage project timelines and deadline compliance, while effectively presenting project status and related information as the need arises. Establish positive relationships and communication with internal staff, volunteers, and vendors and anticipate needs and expectations of all.

  • Process and report on event attendance, revenue and related data. Identify and establish cost savings and revenue gains as appropriate and applicable.

  • Organizes and coordinates attendee shuffle transportation for AHA conferences

Qualifications

Responsibilities

The Development Coordinator will support a team of 2 Development staff, supporting fundraising and field activities including data entry; event logistics; processing funds; preparing correspondence, meeting minutes; spreadsheets, materials, and reports; and general administrative support.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Data entry and data management.

  • Process donations; invoices and payments.

  • Coordinate event materials including:

  • Invitations, brochures, tribute journals, gift bags

  • Preparing attendee list and tracking registration

  • Working with vendors

  • Acquiring required permits

  • Attending assigned events to help with set-up and tear down.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with vendors and Directors to implement logistics for assigned campaigns and day of event activities at the Go Red For Women Luncheon and STEM Goes Red events. You will handle event logistics, infrastructure, lighting, sound, food, volunteers, etc.

  • Coordinate the vendor contract process for assigned day of events to ensure that each is following American Heart Association best practices, guidelines, and procedures.

  • Track vendors' adherence to contractual obligations and perform as agreed upon.

  • May act as day of event volunteer liaison including train volunteers and lead assignments on-site during event.

  • Report preparation and tracking support requires proficient Excel and Data Management skills.

  • Prepare and communicate schedules, meetings and ensure deadlines are met.

  • Perform administrative duties as required or requested.

  • May assist with the on-site distribution of collateral materials and volunteer access to AHA systems.

  • May assist with logistical and administrative support for division Board of Directors, Board and other Volunteer Leadership Meetings.

With support from Public Health AmeriCorps, the American Heart Association is launching HeartCorps to accelerate our work and advance more equitable health outcomes for rural communities. In general, people in rural America face higher death rates from heart disease and stroke, lower life expectancy and higher maternal mortality. Broad, innovative, and sustained approaches are needed to address the range of challenges faced by rural populations. HeartCorps is a new service opportunity for those interested in driving health equity in rural America with the AHA. We are seeking service members to support this work as AmeriCorps members for the 2022-2023 service year.

Description

ROLES OF SERVICE MEMBERS:

To address the disproportionate rates of uncontrolled hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases in rural communities, HeartCorps members will

  • Support blood pressure self-monitoring initiatives in clinic and community settings.

  • Facilitate adoption of evidence- based blood pressure measurement and treatment practices.

  • Enable ongoing BP, nutrition security, and tobacco screening and referral to needed services in clinical or community settings.

  • Build community capacity to support healthy living and skill building including organizing, connecting, and/or delivering community training and education opportunities.

  • Engage local and social media in blood pressure control and healthy living promotion

  • Mobilize the community in addressing cardiovascular health and contributing conditions such as nutrition and tobacco

  • Connect health centers and community organizations with social platforms to facilitate ongoing screening and referral for social needs

  • Establish local support for patients/community members in navigating the care or resources they need

  • Promote registration in research platforms among historically under-represented populations

  • Launch learning collaboratives for health or community centers with similar populations.

  • Plan and implement local engagement events - days of service, town halls or community conversations - to raise awareness of blood pressure, cardiovascular health, and related issues and engage the community in supporting one another in key strategies for management.

  • Cultivate and manage volunteer clubs in local schools or community organizations.

    Qualification

HeartCorps Member Qualifications

  • At least 21 years of age by October 1, 2022.

  • A United States citizen or National or have a permanent resident visa

  • Have reliable transportation.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Willingness to learn and grow during service term.

  • Passion for health equity and interest in promoting health in rural America.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize responsibilities and meet deadlines.

  • Customer focused, solution focused, and creative problem solver. Good listener, non-judgmental, patient, open minded, and resourceful.

  • All accepted applicants must successfully pass a national criminal background check to become HeartCorps service members.

  • Experience or coursework in public health, health communications, health promotion, or health sciences preferred.

  • Experience living in Rural community preferred.
