Ferguson is currently hiring a dedicated Route Planner to join our Chantilly distribution team. If you have an interest in logistics and a desire to learn new things, then this is the position for you!

Responsibilities

  • Sole responsibility for planning next day orders for private and 3rd party fleets

  • Evaluate and coordinate all special delivery requests

  • Monitor overall fleet performance compared to customer requirements

  • Provide data for Data Driven Decision Making

  • Work alongside sales team on scheduling of next day orders

  • Maintain Dispatch Track data for drivers and vehicles

  • Coordinate last minute additional runs via our truck or courier

  • Required to be on-site 5 days per week

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED

  • 2+ years of prior dispatching experience preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook

  • Dispatch Track software experience preferred but willing to teach the right candidate

  • Well organized, strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity, and professionalism

  • Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices

  • Out of the box problem solver with a strong sense of urgency

Responsibilities

  • Proactively develop and maintain relationships with an assigned customer base, including key accounts and ensuring their satisfaction with our products and services

  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand the customer requirements

  • Review and modify work orders for accuracy of scope, clarity, required dates, customer contact information and product availability

  • Contact customer for scheduling of events: pre-site, delivery and installation

  • Update Installation Calendar with pertinent job condition

  • Track and record number of installations by product type

  • Receive pre-site notes, exit checklist, change orders, pictures and invoices for storage and processing customer advocacy: Provide formal and final pricing to customer for services requested; Point of contact for questions, concerns and/or complaints

  • Write credit memos and sales orders as needed for returns and rescheduled appointments

Qualifications

  • Prior installation coordinating experience is strongly preferred

  • Ability to apply expert level product and installation knowledge

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and communicate effectively

  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationship with both internal and external customers

  • Familiar with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Location: This position will work out of Ferguson's corporate offices in Newport News, VA on the Ferguson flex schedule (three days in office, two remote), according to company policy.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prepare, examine, and analyze capital projects reconciling in Construction in Progress accounts assigned to include progression of project, actual spend to budget, categorizing to proper asset profile, capitalization of assets and other functions.

  • Perform weekly Small Capital Expenditure process to include receipt of applications, examine and analyze applications, compilation of weekly approval spreadsheet, and communication process.

  • Participate in preparation of monthly CAPEX reporting and provide project changes for the CAPEX Spend Tracker each month.

  • Load and reconcile asset capitalization packages into Asset Management PeopleSoft database.

  • Support data requests for Corporate and external audits

  • Work with Management and peers to identify and implement operational improvements on an ongoing basis.

  • Liaise and partner with Finance, Field Finance, branch and distribution centers' management, acquisitions, Headquarters departments, Information Technology, Shared Service Center and others to solve open balance sheet transactions, to research expense fluctuations, and to address operational issues affecting Ferguson's balance sheet accounts and/or income statement.

  • Perform month-end general ledger closing and year end general ledger closing procedures, which includes the processing of journal entries and meeting stringent monthly deadlines.

  • Perform consolidated review of income statement accounts to ensure proper coding of expenses and to track expenses by categories with comparisons to prior years.

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the impact of the related accounting policies on the financial results.

  • Perform financial analysis potentially used to drive business decisions

  • Perform various ad hoc requests and other duties assigned by management

  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times ensuring quality customer service

  • Work the hours needed to complete the assigned job responsibilities, which may exceed the standard work schedule during audit times and fiscal year-end.

Qualifications:
