JMT's Hunt Valley, MD office is seeking Design Engineer with 2-5 years of experience to be part of a design team in the creation and checking of structural analysis and design calculations, inspection, preparation of construction plan sets, and estimating costs for bridges and miscellaneous highway structures. Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering tasks in the structural engineering field through application of AASHTO LRFD specifications, and design-oriented computer programs.

  • Assist in the preparation of bridge project documentation including plan sets, specifications, and engineering estimates including the collection, assembling, and organizing of project data.

  • Participate in plan and shop drawing reviews.

  • Drafting using MicroStation.

  • Assist in the field performing bridge and structure inspections.

  • Write and review bridge inspection reports.

  • Ability to interact and collaborate with various different engineering disciplines and other consultants.

  • Attend project meetings and take meeting minutes.

Working Conditions

Position Summary We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, and quality-oriented Fire Protection Engineer with a minimum of 10+ years of experience who is interested in taking a leadership role within our Fire Protection engineering group. The successful candidate will be comfortable consulting to internal and external clients, including Federal/DOD, commercial air carrier airports, and transit systems. The Fire Protection Engineer will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with a high-level ability to manage multiple projects at one time. Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Managing day-to-day contacts with internal and external clients utilizing experience and technology to meet expectations

  • Performing research and document for internal and external distribution

  • Performing field condition assessment and engineering analysis of existing fire protection systems, as well as system inspections.

  • Designing new fire protection systems including suppression systems, fire detection, alarm and mass notification systems

Position Summary:

  • Construction submittal reviews, including RFI's and shop drawings.

The Bridge Design Engineer/ Bridge Safety Inspector will also be responsible for conducting NBIS inspections of in-service transportation structures such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and ancillary structures. The Bridge Design Engineer/ Bridge Safety Inspector will receive general supervision from the Project Manager and will work closely with a NBIS certified inspection team leader. Bridge safety inspection tasks and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Qualifications Preferred
