Title: SECURITY GUARD - NAS, SOUTHEAST DISTRIBUTION CTR Location: United States-Florida-Pensacola Job Number: 220000XN SECURITY GUARD - NAS PENSACOLA Job Summary: Performing assignments on a patrol basis or at a fixed post with responsibility for enforcing security measures. Duties and Responsibilities: * Patrols Exchange facilities including retail store, warehouse, Navy Lodge parking lots, storage rooms, etc. checking for breaches of security such as possible pilferage, unauthorized personnel attempted entries, etc. * Insures exterior doors as well as any interior security cage type doors are secured, windows are locked, and lights turned off, etc. * Prepares Loss Prevention reports concerning security related incidents and advises superior of any unusual occurrences. * Checks identification to insure only authorized persons are permitted on the premises. Permits access to only those individuals having specific authority to enter facility during non-operating hours. * Inspects the contents of packages and containers to assure only authorized items are being removed. * Checks and tests security and fire alarms to ensure proper working order and reports to supervisor or other designated individual any conditions that might constitute fire or accident hazards. * Provides customer assistance/information as necessary. Furnishes information such as types of services available hours of operation etc. and/or directs them to location of desired merchandise/service. * Defuses aggressive confrontations using tact courtesy and assertiveness. Detains individuals suspected of committing illegal acts and properly handles the evidence until the proper authorities arrive. * Works under the general supervision of a designated supervisor who provides procedures regulations and instructions concerning security functions. * Advice and assistance is available in unusual situations. * Review of work is made in terms of adequacy and compliance with applicable policies procedures and instructions. * May be required to destroy/render unusable merchandise which has been zero out and keeps appropriate records. * Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: No experience training or education are required. Duties and Responsibilities: Exercises professional selling techniques and advanced product knowledge to explain demonstrate and educate customers on the technical aspects features and benefits and care of high value fine jewelywatch products options and price points. Maximizes personal and departmental jewelry and watch sales performance by providing a positive shopping experience for customers. Develops clientele listingcards and regularly interacts with customers to build repeat business. Actively strives to gain new customers. Maintains records of customer preferences and buying habits. Contacts customers to advise them of new product offerings merchandise arrivals etc. Strives to consistently attain exceed individual sales and productivity goals. Assists customers with jewelry transactions of all types including sales tradeups returns special orders and layaways. Makes minor repairs and adjustments to jewelry items. Maintains a high level of knowledge of NEX jewelry policies and procedures. Develops and maintains jewelry and watch product knowledge to include attendance at specific training on watches gold silver color stones pearls and diamonds. Participates in specialized sales training sessions as they are scheduled. Regularly reviews product specific magazines and publications. Regularly communicates with buyers vendors etc. regarding products carried. Recommends new items to be carried andor deleted from stock assortment based on observations of customer buying habits hot items etc. Actively supports the integrity of Exchange information systems. Ensures accuracy of product tagging paperwork and register transactions. Performs periodic inventory counts on schedule determined by management. Conforms to applicable Loss Prevention guidelines. Participates in the creative display of products in a manner which highlights product features and enhances saleability. Performs periodic ondisplay checks as necessary. Contributes to daily department maintenance such as cleaning display cases fixtures and jewelry etc. Displays a high degree of professionalism both visually and verbally at all times on the sales floor and when speaking on the phone. Becomes familiar with commercial sector retail store sales events merchandising practices etc. Implements best practices as feasible. Adheres to dress code for NEX jewelry associates. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: GENERAL EXPERIENCE 6 months responsible experience in clerical office or retail sales store work of any kind in which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily in the position to be filled. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE Graduation from a full 4 year or senior high school or possession of a General Education Development High School Equivalency Certificate GED may be substituted for the experience requirements.
