Our Research & Development Division's Pharmaceutical Sciences & Clinical Supplies (PSCS) organization is responsible for translating a therapeutic agent into a functional drug product optimized for patients. The Pharmaceutical Operations department is seeking a co-op student who will work collaboratively in a team environment to help solve key challenges in formulation development, manufacturing and clinical supply chain.

Pharmaceutical Operations (Pharm Ops) is responsible for drug product manufacturing for clinical studies, stability studies and new drug filings with locations in Rahway (NJ) and West Point (PA). The Automation co-op candidate will be responsible for developing automated Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) workflows piloting novel methods of centralizing and accessing information via network communication protocols.

We are seeking co-op candidates at all levels with strong academic performance, communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to work in a multi- functional environment. The co-op will participate in departmental and project team meetings to provide a broad perspective on the drug development process in the pharmaceutical industry. In addition, the co-op student will have an opportunity to present their research results in both oral and written formats. During your co-op appointment you will work closely with an experienced pharmaceutical industry scientist on a research project within the department.

Locations: Rahway, NJ or West Point, PA

This is a full-time co-op position.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Candidates must be a currently enrolled undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior student pursuing a Bachelor's degree OR a currently enrolled graduate student pursuing a Masters or PhD in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Engineering.

  • Candidates must be available to work full-time for a minimum of four (4) months and maximum of six (6) months.

  • Candidates must have completed a minimum of two (2) years of study toward bachelor's degree by the beginning of the co-op.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Candidates should have a significant interest in Pharmaceutical Sciences & Clinical Supplies.

  • Candidates should have basic laboratory skills and research experience, such as: electronic notebook recording, HPLC, spectroscopy, analytical techniques, and safe lab practices.

  • Candidates should have significant experience with analytic tools, programming and software such as: MATLAB, Python, Aspen.

  • Candidates should have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Our company's Research Lab's Discovery and Process Research Departments across multiple geographies are seeking Co-ops with a passion for scientific research, strong academic performance, communication skills, and the ability to work on cross-functional teams. We offer opportunities in our state-of-the-art science laboratories to solve fundamental synthetic or biological problems relevant to drug discovery and development, while functioning as fully integrated members of the company project teams.

Discovery Chemistry and Process Research (Boston, MA; Rahway, NJ: West Point, PA; South San Francisco, CA)

The candidates will work alongside company scientists in an organic synthesis laboratory to invent novel biologically active compounds and chemical reactions relevant to the synthesis of drug-like molecules (e. g. small molecules, cyclic peptides, and bioconjugates). Day-to-day research for the intern will focus on solving key challenges in reaction design utilizing the latest advances in organic synthesis. In addition to the discovery and development of synthetic routes to potential drug candidates, interns may focus/engage in bio- and chemocatalysis screening and development, laboratory automation, flow chemistry, labeled compound synthesis, and data science and informatics.

Chemical Biology (Rahway, NJ; Cambridge, MA)

Our Company Chemical Biology (comprising of chemistry, proteomics, and cell pharmacology) focuses on providing novel, high-quality targets and expanding confidence on molecular mechanism of action for our key assets. Candidates will leverage their chemical and biological expertise to solve complex biological problems while working in both chemistry and biology laboratory spaces. The co-op experience will provide an opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge on how our Research & Development Division uses key technologies to create a synergistic toolbox for early discovery and beyond.

Candidates will participate in departmental and project team meetings to provide a broad perspective on the drug discovery or development process in the pharmaceutical industry. Co-ops will also gain skillsets via exposure to practical aspects and day-to-day problems of pharmaceutical research. Co-ops will be responsible for and trained in methods for accurate electronic notebook recording and safe laboratory practices. In addition, they will have an opportunity to present their research results in both oral and written formats.

Internal Communication

  • Develop and drive communications that engage and inspire employees in Manufacturing Division, Manufacturing Division, and the rest of IT around the organization's priorities and the digital transformation portfolio.

Engagement & Event Management

  • Help identify opportunities to connect employees within the organization and develop key messages and communication material to support those programs.

Basic Skills and Requirements:

  • 15 years and above of experience in corporate communications, divisional communications

  • Bachelor's degree in communication, Marketing, Journalism, or a related discipline.

  • 5-7 years of experience in technology and / or manufacturing communications and marketing.

  • Deep knowledge of innovative and complex communications and editorial tools, including AI-generated solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience in crisis management and online reputation management

  • Powerful short and long-form writing and storytelling skills, capable of capturing the authentic voice in written communication.

  • Strong project management skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced, collaborative, deadline-oriented environment.

  • Able to quickly grasp information and develop clear communication with minimal guidance.

  • Outstanding attention to detail.

  • Self-motivated individual requiring minimal direction.

  • Proven ability to develop successful working relationships with senior executives.

The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. $164,800.00 - $259,400.00

They will contribute to the development of new principles, concepts, and methods to enable process development, scale-up of processes to pilot scale, and technology transfer to manufacturing scale. And subsequently analyze, summarize, and present experimental results in a collaborative team environment. The candidate may also work on pilot-scale campaigns for the GMP manufacture of bulk clinical material. In this role, assignments could encompass aspects of campaign preparation, execution, and closeout of a GMP campaign.

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the ability to convey the results of their work in both verbal and written formats. In addition to the core duties outlined above, the candidate will be expected to keep careful notes, comply with all required training, and maintain focused attention on laboratory safety for themselves and their team.

Candidates will leverage their chemical and biological expertise to solve complex biological problems while working in both chemistry and biology laboratory spaces. The internship will provide an opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge on how our Research & Development Division uses key technologies to create a synergistic toolbox for early discovery and beyond.

The interns will participate in departmental and project team meetings to provide a broad perspective on the drug discovery or development process in the pharmaceutical industry. Global Clinical Supply Operations is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a team lead in Print Technician Team. The team lead will be responsible for coaching team members, managing team dynamics, and developing employees in the Print Technician group.

The team lead will be responsible to print and verify correct labels are produced according to clinical Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).

The successful candidate should have a working knowledge of clinical labeling, packaging and/or operations planning, including the understanding that all clinical supplies and associated documentation are processed according to Standard Operating Procedures, study protocols, Good Manufacturing Practice /Good Documentation Practice and appropriate company safety requirements to meet exacting standards defined by our company, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and European Union (EU) or other international regulatory agencies.

Key Responsibilities may include :

  • Ensures that each component or bulk material used in label production is properly identified, not expired, verified throughout processing and corresponds to the written information on the work order before proceeding to the next step

  • Print, inspect, proof, and perform accountability for clinical product labels.

  • Maintain label inventory including discarding of expired material

  • Acts as Qualified Trainer

  • Carries out all the appropriate periodic quality inspections during the printing process to ensure the integrity

  • Prepares shipments of labels to external packaging sites

  • Receives bulk labels from booklet manufacturing vendors.

  • Participate in equipment related testing and upgrades.

  • Ensure other team members are performing tasks according to GMP and batch record instructions.

The Quantitative Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics (QP2) Department of our Research & Development Division in West Point, PA / Rahway, NJ is seeking a curious and collaborative Director to support our rapidly expanding immunology pipeline. (Position can be available in Boston, MA and South San Francisco, CA)

As a Director, you will serve as an expert QP2 representative on cross-functional teams of experienced scientists to discover and advance the clinical development of novel therapeutic agents for immunologic disorders. More specifically, you will apply your quantitative skills independently with minimal supervision to develop and implement translational PK/PD strategies, characterize clinical population pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of biologics, small molecules and non-traditional therapeutics like peptides, novel biological constructs and others, perform clinical trial simulations, comparator modeling and other model-based analyses to inform dose selection and schedule, clinical trial design and go/no-go decisions. You will apply your expertise to frame critical drug development questions to optimize drug development using model-based approaches and influence cross-functional teams to adopt such strategies. Finally, you maintain a comprehensive understanding of global regulatory expectations and shape, present and defend regulatory documents and submissions.

The Director is a skilled quantitative drug developer, with a strong, integrated understanding of the strategic elements of drug discovery and development. You develop strategies for quantitative analyses and commensurate experiments/trials within and across development programs and/or departments. The Director should demonstrate outstanding leadership and communication skills. The Director collaborates with other functional areas, as well as with external vendors and partners, creating an aligned, quantitative and model-informed framework to impact strategies and decisions of drug development teams. Under the direction of the group leader, the individual will be responsible for process development of vaccine candidates. The successful candidate will perform lab-scale process development/scale-up studies, develop robust, efficient, scalable processes for vaccine production, and transfer processes to clinical or commercial manufacturing facilities for vaccine candidates. Duties may include but are not limited to: lab scale cell culture, fermentation, centrifugation, filtration, chromatography, bioconjugation, in-process assays, process scale-up and engineering, GMP document preparation and modifications, maintaining/coordinating raw material, and equipment inventories, technology transfer to manufacturing, and functioning as a key member of a process development team.

This position requires the employee to be willing to work with infectious agents and/or pathogens. Travel may be required to support technology transfer. This position will require occasional off hour and weekend work.

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Candidates must have a B.S. in engineering or biological sciences by May 2025.

Applications are sought for a scientific Intern opportunity in our company's Vaccines and Advanced Biotechnologies Process R&D division. Under the direction of a project mentor, a successful candidate will perform lab-scale process development/scale-up studies, and develop robust, efficient, scalable cell culture processes for vaccine production.

Duties may include lab-scale fermentation or cell culture, in-process assay support, process scale-up and engineering, maintaining/coordinating raw material and equipment inventories to support development experiments, technology transfer to later stage development groups, and functioning as a key member of an early-stage process development team.

The candidate may also work on pilot-scale campaigns for the GMP manufacture of bulk clinical material. In this role, assignments could encompass aspects of campaign preparation, execution, and closeout of a GMP campaign.

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the ability to convey the results of their work in both verbal and written formats. In addition to the core duties outlined above, the candidate will be expected to keep careful notes, comply with all required training, and maintain focused attention on laboratory safety for themselves and their team.

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Candidates must be enrolled in a minimum of a BS/BA in: Chemical/Biomedical/Biological Engineering, Bioengineering, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or closely related field

The IT Director of the Content & Promotional Lifecycle Automation Product Line is a key leadership role in the Customer Engagement & Experience Value Team within Human Health IT. Content Creation is the first step in the promotional review lifecycle. Understanding our customers (healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, and payers), the messages that will resonate each customer type, and supporting the marketing teams who translate those into marketing plans requires knowledge of our brands and the technical expertise of the capabilities and services required to deliver content to the markets.

This role will be leading a product line of agile product teams that provide marketing/promotional planning, launch planning, content creation, digital asset management, medical legal regulatory review capabilities to our brand strategy and marketing operations business teams. The leader will be responsible for product management, relationship management, subject matter expertise and business case development for the team. Success is highly dependent on the integration of products and services provided by all of the value teams, as well as our marketing and content platform partners (i.e. Veeva, Microsoft, AWS, etc).

With the advent of automation, this role will lead new capabilities that leverage machine learning, AI and Gen AI to drive efficiencies and top line results.

We are looking for a strong leader who is collaborative, a self-starter, can take ownership/ accountability and drive results. This senior role will report into the HHIT Customer Engagement & Experience Value Team Lead and will interact with senior executives across the business and IT.

You must be comfortable with rapid transformation, able to handle ambiguity well and help others navigate it, get inspired by enabling key business priorities through the enablement of cutting-edge technology, and shape the strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Product management for our marketing and content strategy product and related capabilities. This will involve expertise in the capabilities, knowledge of market regulatory requirements and how it might require adaptation of the capabilities, development of roadmaps, input to the value team investment portfolio, and communication of progress/risks to Value Team for mitigation.

  • Drive thought leadership & innovation to support business value realization and position IT as a competitive advantage.

  • Lead cross market, cross value team, and cross enterprise collaboration to ensure alignment of business objectives and roadmaps for deployment of capabilities. This will include leading product ideation sessions, roadmap reviews and customer calls as needed. In addition, the Territory Representative demonstrates an understanding of the resources available across our Company's Animal Health division and our Distribution Partners.

This role will cover the Mason City, IA territory (Mason City, Cedar Falls, Des Moines). It is required that our sales employees reside in the territory in which they support.

Essential Accountabilities:

  • Communicates about our company's Animal Health's product portfolio in a way that's meaningful and relevant to each individual customer; customizes discussions and interactions based on understanding of customer's needs.

  • Primary point of contact for assigned customers, meet with key personnel/decision makers to understand practice structure, business model, key influencers (Owner/Practice Manager/Key Tech/Associate Vet/Front office staff), customer needs and identifies business opportunities.

  • Develop customer strategy - outlining strategy for interactions/relationship, solutions, partner involvement and potential offerings for customer resulting in solutions, partner involvement and potential offerings for customers resulting in sales opportunities and account sales growth of Animal Health products and services.

  • Develop territory and specific account plans for all key customers. Partners with National Account Managers, Corporate Account Team, and Distribution Field Partners to maintain strong focus on key accounts and corporate owned clinics to drive occupancy and sales growth.

  • Work collaboratively to foster a 'One Company' approach to foster our Company's approach to enhance knowledge of the entire Animal Health product portfolio.

  • Shares with other team members within the region to foster growth and development within the team.

  • Analyze monthly sales results and manage expenses within budget guidelines.

  • Identifies and selects programs/services available within Animal Health's available resources to address customer needs and provide education & training opportunities to accounts.

  • Works with leadership and Field Professional Services to develop and deliver relevant offerings that address desired customer needs.

  • Develop current understanding of Animal Health products, industry trends and competitor landscape.

  • Articulates and communicates relevant customer, industry, product, and market trends appropriately through the organization.

  • Responsible for developing and meeting learning and development objectives agreed upon with leadership.

Background & Education

  • Bachelor's Degree with sales experience preferred OR a minimum of high school diploma with at least 5 years of relevant work experience which could include: professional sales, distribution, experience in marketing, military service, or veterinary/ healthcare/ scientific field (pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical devices).

  • Identifies and selects programs/services available within Animal Health's available resources to address customer needs and provide education & training opportunities to accounts.

Background & Education

Our company's Research Lab's Discovery and Process Research Departments across multiple geographies are seeking Co-ops with a passion for scientific research, strong academic performance, communication skills, and the ability to work on cross-functional teams. We offer opportunities in our state-of-the-art science laboratories to solve fundamental synthetic or biological problems relevant to drug discovery and development, while functioning as fully integrated members of the company project teams.

Discovery Chemistry and Process Research (Boston, MA; Rahway, NJ: West Point, PA; South San Francisco, CA)

The candidates will work alongside company scientists in an organic synthesis laboratory to invent novel biologically active compounds and chemical reactions relevant to the synthesis of drug-like molecules (e. g. small molecules, cyclic peptides, and bioconjugates). Day-to-day research for the intern will focus on solving key challenges in reaction design utilizing the latest advances in organic synthesis. In addition to the discovery and development of synthetic routes to potential drug candidates, interns may focus/engage in bio- and chemocatalysis screening and development, laboratory automation, flow chemistry, labeled compound synthesis, and data science and informatics.

Chemical Biology (Rahway, NJ; Cambridge, MA)

Our Company Chemical Biology (comprising of chemistry, proteomics, and cell pharmacology) focuses on providing novel, high-quality targets and expanding confidence on molecular mechanism of action for our key assets. Candidates will leverage their chemical and biological expertise to solve complex biological problems while working in both chemistry and biology laboratory spaces. The co-op experience will provide an opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge on how our Research & Development Division uses key technologies to create a synergistic toolbox for early discovery and beyond.

Candidates will participate in departmental and project team meetings to provide a broad perspective on the drug discovery or development process in the pharmaceutical industry. Co-ops will also gain skillsets via exposure to practical aspects and day-to-day problems of pharmaceutical research. Co-ops will be responsible for and trained in methods for accurate electronic notebook recording and safe laboratory practices. In addition, they will have an opportunity to present their research results in both oral and written formats.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, generally Tuesday, Wednesday and either Monday or Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence. This Hybrid work model does not apply to, and daily in-person attendance is required for, field-based positions; facility-based, manufacturing-based, or research-based positions where the work to be performed is located at a Company site; positions covered by a collective-bargaining agreement (unless the agreement provides for hybrid work); or any other position for which the Company has determined the job requirements cannot be reasonably met working remotely.
