This position is responsible for quality improvement issues related to suppliers and/or subcontractors of materials, products or services used in development or manufacturing. Our Supply QE will be driving Root Cause Corrective Actions in support of our suppliers needs, while building and enhancing the relationship as our go to liaison for the chain. This QE will lead the engagement strategy while leveraging the extended organization to minimize program cost impact.
Analyze supplier performance and develop improvement plans for identified problem areas to drive down supplier DPPM and nonconformance rates.
Use Six Sigma & Lean concepts for supplier improvement of quality and delivery metrics.
Provide training for basic quality methodologies to support supplier partnerships.
Support programs assessing potential new suppliers.
Implement Supplier Partnership concepts with focus suppliers.
Review, analyze and report on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems.
Perform and evaluate root cause and corrective action to correct product/process deficiencies, ensuring implementation with suppliers and effectiveness of actions.
Perform elements of Advanced product Quality Planning (Process Flow Diagrams & Failure Mode Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis, and First Articles)
Perform SPC, Predictive Quality methodologies, and problem-solving methodologies.
Support the implementation of Zero-Defect Plans (ZDP) with critical suppliers, by assisting them to develop robust processes, performing process/product validations, recommending manufacturability improvements (process and design).
Perform monthly data analysis on supply chain performance.
Support program quality team with investigations on supplier defects and drive accountability to supplier

Essential Functions
Working under general supervision, the Specialist, Test Data Systems Engineer will:
30% - Maintain and upgrade test facility data acquisition and control systems.
20% - Define, coordinate, and execute instrumentation, data, and control systems integration to meet test requirements.

Requirements

After orientation and training, interns will perform entry-level engineering tasks on projects.
Interns will support senior engineering staff and gain experience and familiarization with company projects.

Summer internships will start in approximately May/June and end in August/September.

We seek a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Summer 2024 in Huntsville, Alabama.
After orientation and training, interns will perform entry-level engineering tasks on rocket propulsion projects. Interns will support senior engineering staff and gain experience and familiarization with company projects. Interns must be able to operate effectively in a team environment.
