The global VMware Professional Services Organization influences the success of each VMware implementation. The Professional Services team is dedicated to the success of the customer and their digital strategy. The Professional Services team ensures that VMware customers are successfully implementing their business plans from adoption all the way to a fully functioning solution.
The Senior Consultant is an advanced level technology specialist and subject matter expert, providing customer guidance by facilitating technical workshops, creation of low-level designs and implementation of use cases into high- quality solutions. In addition to customer facing delivery Senior Consultants also provide technical input to pre-sales and drive best practices in the form of white paper creation.

Responsibilities
. You will take initiative in driving the technical outcomes of projects, work with technical project teams and take accountability for specific project deliverables.
. Work with the project manager(s) for your tasks and responsibilities and report routine progress.
. Confidently gather use case requirements and creation of low-level technical designs while functioning as a resource for -Best Practices- and driving adoption of VMware solutions.
. Ensure the solution being delivered is fit for purpose, referencing the initial business goals and objectives of the project.
. Maintain current, high-level technical knowledge of the entire VMware product line and future product direction as well as the core VMware product line and your specialist area.
. Must enjoy and thrive working with leading edge technology and being an intrinsic part of a fantastic team. . Define, document, and build technical implementations across multiple technologies.
Requirements
. Demonstrated ability and experience in customer-facing positions as a Professional Services consultant.
. Ability to communicate with Senior level executives.
. Experience leading development teams
. Experience developing in Large Enterprise and Global customer environments
. Excellent documentation and technical writing skills.
. Adaptable and progressive learner with the ability to communicate complex technical topics to a technical and non- technical audience.
Additional Specific Requirements
. Demonstrated experience with programming and/or scripting languages.
. Demonstrated experience with ECMA 5 Javascript.
. Experience with developing workflows and actions using vRealize Orchestrator.
. Experience with, and technical knowledge of, vRealize Automation, versions 7 and 8. . CI/CD experience with systems like Gitlab, vRealize Code Stream, Jenkins etc.
. Experience with traditional SDLCs.
. Experience with git SCM and systems like Github, Stash, Bitbucket, Gitlab etc. Additional Skills
. Proficient in Python, JavaScript and PowerCLI.
. Familiar with VMware VCF infrastructure automation.
. Familiar with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Salt Stack.
. Familiar with Docker and Kubernetes Cluster.
. Familiar with vRealize Orchestrator (vRO) workflow development and debugging.
. Familiar with network automation (Cisco ACI, VMware NSX-T)
. Familiar with VMware vSphere virtual infrastructure.
Certification and Education
. Bachelor's degree as a minimum or demonstrate equivalent industry experience
. 6-8 years industry experience at a developer level
Nice-to-have Certification in the following areas
. VMware VCP CMA
. Programming / Developer Certification(s)
