Join a high-performance technology driven mission-oriented team helping to protect our nation's national security. KBR is looking for talented individuals to become part of our team and we are currently seeking a Sr. Antenna Measurement/Test Technician for our Columbia MD support facility.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Antenna Test Technician will perform all antenna, material, and environmental testing of antennas to meet tasking requirements utilizing a planar near field range, anechoic chamber, and environmental test chamber.
Performs environmental testing on antennas and systems utilizing thermal chambers and running test routines for cycling systems through various predefined temperature ranges.
Support engineering tasks related to the repair, fabrication, assembly, production, installation and testing of antennas and electronic hardware and systems.
Utilize and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, test manuals, test procedures and performance specifications to perform tests.
Maintain equipment associated with operating test facility ensuring equipment is calibrated and adequate inventory of parts to support maintenance and testing requirements. Shall design any brackets, mounts and fixtures needed to mechanically support/ attach and test antennas and test objects.
Setup antenna test sequences and interpret test data for validity.
Generate test reports based on data obtained. Provide interpretations of test results identifying areas of concern regarding system performance. May make recommendations to improve performance based on past testing on similar systems
Maintain electronic records library of test result data on completed customer testing tasks.
Skills and Experience required
Antenna research and acquisition experience
Experience related to antenna measurement and testing on an automated system utilizing either a planar nearfield scanner, spherical nearfield scanner or far field measurement system
Experience in operating NSI nearfield antenna measurement systems is highly desired.
Good troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication/presentation and briefing skills
Strong customer interface and team collaboration skills
Required Qualifications:
Associate of Science degree and a minimum of 5 years' experience
Must have and maintain a Secret level clearance or Secret clearance eligibility
