WHO YOU ARE

You will manage a team of two communicators at this time. In addition, you will be expected to work across LM and the RMS organization, including line of business communicators and enterprise communications team, RMS Technical Assistant network, and other BA/Corp Communicators, in planning and executing the President's communications strategy, to ensure accurate, timely and holistic communications.

THE WORK

Reporting to the Vice President of Communications for Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS), the executive communications lead will provide integrated executive communications support for the RMS President. Working closely with the Communications VP, this leader will develop and maintain an executive communications strategy, including internal and external communications for the RMS President. This includes day-to-day support and will require direct interaction with the President as required. Support will include a full-range of communications including strategies, speeches, talking points, video scripts, memos, organization announcements, webcasts / audiocasts, media interviews - and associated read-ahead materials for speaking engagements. This position will also be required to travel with the President as required for key speaking engagements. In addition, this position will track metrics for all President-level communications and make strategic recommendations on improvements.

The position reports to Jen Allen - Vice President, RMS Communications.

Relocation is not required. Preferred location is East Coast region.

Travel for the position is required and will be approximately 25% of the time if based in the DC metro area. For those based outside of the DC metro area, required travel would be higher than 25%. Other responsibilities may be assigned as required to support the President and the organization.

Basic Qualifications:

- Experience working with and counseling senior C-Suite executives and ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.

- A self-starter who can be depended upon to ensure the accuracy and quality of communications material and content and is accustomed to autonomy in a role.

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including executive management.

- Motivated and organized with broad communications experience

- Exceptional writing, communication and presentation skills.

- Ability to cultivate and maintain a close working relationship with LOB and functional leaders, as well as with Corporate and Enterprise Communications teams.

- Ability to travel as role requires for incumbent to travel with the President as required for key speaking engagements.

- Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.

Desired Skills:

- Proven C-suite leadership experience and ability to manage a team of communicators both directly and indirectly, prioritizing talent development and embodying Full Spectrum Leadership capabilities.

- Strong understanding of the broad range of tools, processes and practices of executive communications, employee engagement, media relations and other external affairs.

- A track record of collaborating with a number of diverse stakeholders on communications projects.

- Quick study with an attention to detail and sense of urgency.

- Ability to manage multiple activities and work well under deadline pressures.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $121,300 - $232,400 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $139,400 - $262,800. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
