Various forms of Artificial intelligence (AI) are expected to be a significant growth enabler for a diversity of organizations - providing enhanced capabilities, business innovations, and strategic advantages. Key to the development of AI technologies are machine learning (ML) models and processes. Lockheed Martin, as a global defense provider, has developed internal AI/ML capabilities, designed by the Lockheed Martin Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC), commissioned to improve company operations and trusted with enabling complex defense systems for a secure world.

Secure.ML is a new Lockheed Martin strategic project to bring LAIC AI/ML products and services to market plus enhance capabilities offered to Lockheed Martin internal and external customers via industry partnerships. Secure.ML is under the management of LMEvolve, a Lockheed Martin corporate initiative to leverage key Lockheed Martin competencies for dual use in collaboration with commercial partners and in support of critical customer missions.

Job Description

The Secure.ML Chief Revenue Officer will be responsible for managing the business and go-to-market plans for Secure.ML. This individual will also lead a senior team of sales and marketing professionals responsible for driving business and revenue growth by selling LAIC capabilities to external customers, including government, aerospace and defense industry, and commercial customers. They will also be responsible for developing partnerships with relevant industry peers and leading go-to-market strategy including new segment opportunity identification.

This position will require frequent business travel.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve business viability, revenue growth, market penetration, and other objectives

- Manage the sales pipeline using a common CRM tool, including forecasting and tracking revenue, and regularly reporting on progress to executive leadership

- Identify, cultivate, and close new business opportunities with external customers, including government, aerospace and defense industry, and commercial customers

- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within customer organizations

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, program management, and marketing, to develop compelling proposals and presentations for customers

- Deliver persuasive presentations and technical briefings to customers and partners

- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer requirements to ensure LAIC capabilities remain competitive and relevant

- Identify opportunities for industry collaboration plus realize commercially-sourced improvements and additional features to core LM/LAIC capabilities

- Provide market and competitive analysis to inform product development and strategic decision-making

- Develop and deliver executive reporting and communication

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field

- Demonstrated capability to win and establish business, in a commercial business model

- Documented record of driving results, with a focus on maximizing revenue opportunities and driving profitability

- Expertise in crafting and executing a go-to-market business sales strategy, tailoring your approach to meet the unique needs of each target market.

- Possess inspirational leadership skills that foster collaboration and result in exceptional team performance.

- Demonstrated expertise in selling AI/ML capabilities, including computer vision, natural language processing, and machine learning. Expert ability to articulate the benefits and value proposition of these technologies to potential customers.

- Deep understanding of government and commercial customers, including their needs, requirements, and procurement processes. Excellent track record of building strong relationships with key stakeholders and influence decision-making.

- Possess excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Strong capability to build credibility and trust with senior executives and other key stakeholders, both internally and externally.

- Extensive experience in profit and loss (P&L) management, with a proven ability to manage budgets, forecast revenue, and drive profitability.

- Deep understanding of commercial business principals

- Ability to make informed and strategic business decisions that create value for the organization

- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with ease

- Strong analytical skills, able to analyze market trends, customer requirements, and financial data to inform business decisions and strategies

- Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and government contracting

Desired Skills:

- MBA or Master's degree in a Business, Engineering, or a related field, demonstrating your commitment to ongoing learning and development.

- Strong expertise in AI technologies and their applications, enabling the ability to identify opportunities to leverage these technologies to solve complex business problems and drive innovation.

- Possess established key industry relationships and connections across the defense industrial base, particularly in technology offices and able to leverage these relationships to build strategic partnerships and drive business growth.

- Passionate about staying up to date with the latest trends and developments in AI and related fields, regularly attending industry events and conferences to expand your knowledge and network.

- Strong track record of building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including senior executives, decision-makers, and influencers, using strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Proactive and strategic thinker, able to identify opportunities and develop creative solutions to complex challenges.

- Collaborative team player, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams to drive business objectives and achieve shared goals.

- Passionate about making a positive impact in the world, using your expertise in AI and related fields to drive innovation and solve complex challenges.

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $195,000 - $325,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $195,000 - $325,000 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
