Title:
Mid-Level Space and Ground Systems Engineer
KBR is seeking highly motivated Space and Ground Systems Engineers in support of NRO SIGINT Systems for an acquisition system program office. The successful candidate will have experience with and understanding of existing NRO space and ground systems, and be able to apply that knowledge to guide customers towards solutions to meet near and emerging national and defense intelligence needs. The successful candidate will be able to grasp technical concepts and communicate key findings and recommendations to senior and junior customers to enable informed decision making.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation
Evaluate design alternatives and assess technical, cost, schedule, and risk
Evaluate end-to-end lifecycle performance, to include concept design, requirements development, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, conduct trades, define and allocate requirements, define interfaces, guide specification development
Identify risks to program plans, develop corrective action plans, conduct engineering change proposal reviews and technical evaluations, cost and schedule evaluations.
Support program and design reviews, and support proposal evaluations.
Support payload modification and modernization initiatives, assess proposed designs and evaluate alternatives to support development, technology insertion, including architectural trades and future payload enhancements and initiatives.
Develop test plans and procedures to test the sub systems and systems
Support AGILE testing methodologies and understand AGILE concepts as applied to sub systems
Minimum Qualifications:
BS degree in Engineering, Math, Physics or other scientific discipline
5 years experience with relevant Government or industry space and launch systems
Ability to work in fast paced, dynamic environment with excellent oral and written communication skills
Self-starter who can partner with multiple teammates, including FFRDC, SETA team members, and can communicate effectively with developmental partners
Desired Qualifications:
MS / PhD in Engineering or physics, imaging science / remote sensing or related technical discipline.
5-13 years' experience with relevant Government or industry space and launch systems
Clearance: TS/SCI with poly required
