PowerSecure is seeking a Generator Field Service Technician for ongoing maintenance and basic troubleshooting of backup generators and other power distribution equipment. The qualified Generator Field Technician must have a minimum of one year of commercial Generator Field Service experience, but more experienced Generator Technicians are encouraged to apply. Generator Field Service Technician Responsibilities:
Perform preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting on all makes and models of generator sets and engines.
Operational understanding of automatic transfer switches (ATS).
Load bank setup and testing.
Basic understanding of schematics and wiring diagrams.
Provide on call services based on experience.
Deliver exceptional customer service.
Job Requirements
Minimum 2 years of education in electronic repair, related military experience or equivalent field experience.
1+ years of commercial/industrial experience performing preventive maintenance on generators and engines.
Operational and functional understanding of ATS. Basic troubleshooting with support.
Up to 25% overnight travel.
Willing to work on call, OT and disaster response as required.
Able to pass a DOT physical, background check and drug screen.
Proficient written and verbal English skills.
Proficient using computers, including Microsoft Office and software based programs for connecting to various controllers.
OEM Training, certification and/or EGSA certification a plus

Generator Field Service Technician Physical Demands
Tasks require the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work. Physical Activity: 85% physical activity required on customer site working with equipment, 15% form completion, email, other administrative tasks and completing technical support activities by way of telephone and computer communication.
May involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-75 pounds).
Frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to use hands, to touch, handle or grasp, reach with hands and arms.
Combination of climbing and balancing to include climbing ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
Must have the physical ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to Protective Glasses,
Protective Gloves, and Protective Footwear as required.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to read computer screens, paper documents, equipment.
Ability to perceive and discriminate sounds, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals.
Up to 10 consecutive hours driving heavy duty truck.
May be required to work long and unpredictable hours.
Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally and hear others speaking.
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background check, drug testing and MVR clearance.
