JMT's Albany Construction Management Team is seeking an Inspector II to apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing Highway and Bridge Construction activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance and adherence to safety regulations
Perform routine tests on concreate, soils and other materials
Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and specifications
Prepare, gather and maintain record documents
Make field notes and computations

High School Diploma
1-4 years of Construction Inspection Experience
Computer Proficiency
Active driver's license
Preferred Experience
AAS or BS in Civil Engineering, Civil Technology or Construction Management
OSHA 10 Hour
Client Requested certifications (ACI or NICET concrete, asphalt, earthwork, etc.)
Sitemanager and/or APPIA experience
Working Conditions
Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
