Job Description:
L3 Harris is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with Project/Program Management focus to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team supporting a Government customer. The current contract team is building a large-scale enterprise application for space domain purposes using web technologies, distributed computation and storage frameworks, and sophisticated, cutting-edge domain analytics, with the system hosted on virtualized and cloud-computing platforms. The successful candidate will join the program leadership team by bringing expertise on latest software engineering principles and processes while also supporting Program Management and the Customer, and future initiatives.
Essential Functions:
Subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge of software development and proficient knowledge of project management. Manages large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction. Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches. Makes significant improvements in processes, systems, or products. Provides input into new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results. Interfaces with the program leadership team and customers on a regular basis. Provides leadership and technical guidance to the development team throughout the software development life cycle.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in in Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
Active DOD Top Secret or TS/SCI security clearance
Software, computer architectures, software architectures, object-oriented programs
Experience in Java software development life cycle
Experience with project management and technical leadership with large teams
Experience with regular customer-facing relationships and communications
Experience integrating, testing, and deploying software applications to operations
Experience leading and executing SAFe software development program(s)
Preferred Additional Skills:
TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph
Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps practices
Experience with cloud technologies
Experience with earned value program management and risk management
Knowledge or familiarity within the Space Situational Awareness (SSA) or Space Domain Awareness (SDA) mission area
Experience leading Government Program(s) of Record
