Job Summary
Dominion Energy is looking for one individual to fill the Electric Distribution Technical Coordinator position in Herndon, VA.
This role is fully competent in the technical aspects associated with the distribution initiatives and programs. Provides expert technical support, direction and advice in analyzing proposed overhead and underground designs to ensure compliance with current technical standards and operational requirements. Applies knowledge and technical skills to provide technical project management, design, and technical direction to contractor personnel. Provides technical project management including scoping, scheduling, budget development, cost tracking and reporting, and technical oversight. Independently performs technical evaluations as needed. Acts as a liaison with multiple internal departments including Design, Right of Way, Joint Use, Reliability (Standards), and Contractor Management. Ensures flow of information and documents between internal departments and contractor personnel is both accurate and timely. Interacts with external stakeholders and/or providers to assess interest in collaboration on projects. Provide oversight for procedural protocols and determination of billing requirements associated with providers participation on individual projects. Assists with review of invoicing from contractors. Performs technical evaluations as required. This role is also competent with reviewing easement documents for technical accuracy.
Specifically, this role will be responsible for the technical coordination of projects that fall under the company's Rural Broadband Program, with the following responsibilities:
Coordinate with Internet Service Provider (ISP) engineers to identify detailed routes to serve pockets of unserved customers with fiber.
Coordinate with Internet Service Provider (ISP) engineers to confirm fiber access point locations when necessary.
Coordinate with IT Telecom, Grid Transformation, Reliability, Substations and ISP's for route optimization.
Field check and scope routes, # of poles, existing fiber, water crossings, railroad crossings, bridges, etc.
Create new WMIS projects based upon the scoping document and coordinate with Design to prioritize their fiber projects
Coordinate with Contract designers and Right of Way Contractors for project specific issues
Additional duties as requested or assigned.

Superior knowledge of distribution design, design standards, and Company policies
Operational knowledge
Financial acumen, familiarity with Company accounting systems
Experience in process development
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, ability to network with multiple departments

Proficiency in typical Business software products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Cost control and reporting skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to provides assistance, advice, and solutions to co-workers and contractors
Ability to identify and implement better work alternatives and business processes
