We are growing and have a need for an AWS Network Engineer supporting the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)!

The AWS Network Engineer will be on a dynamic team transitioning to an AWS environment. The position will focus on AWS to integrate, migrate, and maintain the cloud infrastructure in a hybrid environment but will also help support datacenter network infrastructure. Serco supports CMS, a federal agency within the United States Department of Health and Human Services that administers the Medicare program and works in partnership with state governments to continue supporting eligibility determinations for consumers purchasing health insurance through the Federal Health Insurance Exchanges.

In this role, you will:

  • Work in tandem with our solutions architects and systems engineering team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the company and its customers

  • Develop and implement capabilities to reduce time to delivery of platforms through orchestration and automation

  • Manage Serco's cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines

  • Deploy and debug cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycle

  • Automate repetitive, manually time-consuming O&M tasks

  • Educate and mentor system engineering team on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required.

  • Employ exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they cascade into problems.

  • Work on Enterprise and cloud networks as they relate to application data flow and interoperability

  • Assist with Firewall rules and configurations, VPNs, express routes and direct connects, and other network tasks as assigned

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an IT-related field and 5-7 years of related experience or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Must be able to work on-call and after hour changes.

  • Deep understanding of AWS security best practices and policies, VPCs, subnetting, and AWS Services

  • Experience Implementing security appliances such as Load Balancing (F5), Firewalls (Checkpoint, Palo Alto, AWS Native Firewalls)

  • Expertise of network segmentation using technologies such as NSG's, NSX's

  • Expertise of DISA STIGS, and NIST controls and how that is governed in the cloud infrastructure

  • Expertise of HIPS/FIPS controls and how that is governed in the cloud infrastructure

  • Expertise of Hybrid connectivity to allow Cloud and internal architectures to connect

  • Expertise of boundary security

  • Experience in implementing automation in Cloud environments

  • Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networks

  • Ability to mentor and train internal technical teams

  • Experience with Cloud Architecture and design

  • Working and troubleshooting knowledge of routing protocols like - OSPF, BGP

  • Ability to create network diagrams in Visio

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Be knowledgeable with AWS cloud technologies, both from the IT infrastructure and IT applications perspective.

  • Ability to write clear and concise documentation of systems and procedures.

  • Ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals.

  • Ability to plan, organize, meet schedules and timelines for assigned work.

  • US Citizenship Required

Additional desired skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of ZScaler

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $106,177.50 to $176,962.50; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
