The Income Tax Manager is an important role within the Income Tax function of T-Mobile's Tax Department. Responsibilities primarily include participation in federal and state income tax compliance and planning, ASC 740 provision, and other tax special projects.
What you'll do in your role.
Assist with the preparation and review of workpapers and documentation to support tax filings.
Application of income tax reporting guidance (ASC 740) to determine the appropriate accounting given different fact patterns.
Develop a thorough working knowledge of the tax compliance software systems.
Analyze and research complex tax issues and develop technical analysis and documentation to support federal and state filing positions.
Support IRS and state income tax audits by preparing responses and appropriate schedules
Remain current in legislative and tax policy initiatives that have significant impact to the company.
Participate in streamlining and improving income tax reporting processes through automation
Support tax and other cross-functional initiatives, as appropriate
Participate in special projects as needed.
The experience you'll bring.
3-5 years income tax experience with emphasis on tax compliance, ASC740 accounting, audits, and research and planning.
Corporate, partnership and LLC tax experience.
Strong foundation in general accounting principles
Experience with tax reporting software (OneSource Income Tax / OneSource Apportionment / OneSource Provision) and research tools preferred.
Experience with SAP or other first tier ERP software preferred.
Proficiency in tax research tools and Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
BA/BS Degree in Accounting Required
Masters Degree in Tax and/or CPA certification required (Preference for Both)
At least 18 years of age
Legally authorized to work in the United States
High School Diploma or GED
T-Mobile requires all employees in this position to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work, unless precluded from doing so by applicable law.
