  • ITW Appliance Components serves all the major Appliance OEM in the US, Europe, Asia, and Mexico and their tier suppliers. This global division manufactures mechanical, electromechanical, and electrical components and assemblies with a variety of manufacturing processes. We have locations in the US, China, Mexico, the UK, Slovenia, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Italy. ITW Industrial Components is a separate Business Unit within the ITW Appliance Division focused on industrial customers and applications.

Position Summary : Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of a production line on the shift. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Hours From: 10:30PM-7:00AM

  • Works with production manager to understand production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.

  • Must have good attendance with capability to work overtime as needed.

  • Responsible for production, efficiency and safety on the shift.

  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness and conformance to procedures.

  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.

  • Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.

  • Oversees training of new and existing members to ensure they are qualified to perform assigned work.

  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency in department, shift or entire workforce.

  • Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.

  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.

  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

  • Maintains time and production records.

  • Conducts performance reviews and initiates corrective action whenever necessary.

  • Assists employees in performance of duties. Sometimes performs the activities of subordinates.

  • Completes and distributes miscellaneous paperwork and performs other duties as assigned.

  • Interprets specifications, job orders, and sometimes blueprints.

  • Maintains computer competency through training and use of computer equipment.

Education and/or Experience :

  • GED or high school diploma preferred and one to two years of related experience and/or training. Machine operator experience in a highly automated experience preferred.

Language Skills :

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills :

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability :

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • SPC gauges and hand tools, calculators, computers, copiers.
