Position Description
Serco's Compensation team plays a critical role in delivering data-driven pay decisions in support of contract proposal efforts and internal employee pay reviews, while ensuring adherence to government laws and regulations. Serco, Inc is searching for a Compensation Analyst to join their team at our corporate headquarters in our Herndon, VA location. You will support the administration of Serco's market-based salary programs and provide advisory services to HR stakeholders regarding the interpretation of compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures. Prepare and maintain Serco jobs and job descriptions, ensuring descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed
Create market composites and determine pay grades using a compensation database
Conduct geographical market salary data analyses
Map contract labor categories to company jobs for proposals (new and existing business)
Interview and survey employees and managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information, including duties, responsibilities, and skills required
Conduct job evaluation interviews with employees to determine appropriate FLSA status and/or appropriate jobs
Benchmark jobs against survey data to determine competitive compensation ranges for Serco jobs
Prepare and present summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information
Provide guidance and make recommendations to HR Business Managers/Partners and business leaders on all compensation issues
Assist with administering Serco Compensation programs and related HR programs, including the performance management process and award programs; assist with change management related to updates in guidance
Participate in Compensation surveys and maintain the Compensation benchmarking tool (CompAnalyst)
External vendor management and invoice processing
Work cross-functionally and foster relationships primarily with the HR, IT, and Payroll departments
Assist with special projects related to Compensation
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and a minimum 2 years of relevant experience in HR Compensation
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; intermediate to advanced skills in Excel
Prior experience working with an HRIS preferred
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of Department of Labor laws and regulations
Sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Experience working with salary benchmarking tools
Experience working in the government contracting environment preferred
Familiarity with mapping jobs for proposals and Service Contract Act (SCA) jobs preferred
