JMT's Syracuse traffic team is seeking an intern to be responsible for various tasks and projects to enhance their experience in the field utilizing their education. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Enter data into systems
Make edits and updates to existing engineering drawings and projects
Assemble data and research
Assist with administrative duties
Provide input on solutions to problems using basic theories and engineering fundamentals
Assist with layout and design of routine small and medium-sized engineering projects
Develop and prepare specifications
Evaluate equipment and material
Maintain accurate and current project documentation
Performs routine tests on concreate, soils and other materials
Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes
Gathers and maintains record documents
Makes field notes and computations

Working Conditions
Work is performed within either a general office environment or in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
