Position Description
Serco Inc. is looking for a highly motivated Sr. Autonomous Systems Engineer to Support the Naval Undersea Warfare Command (NUWC) Keyport. you will work on a broad portfolio of Autonomous Maritime System (AMS) programs in the Keyport, Wa. geographic region.
This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain your active Secret level Clearance.
You will be part of a team that provides Underwater Mine Counter Measure (UMCM), Unmanned Maritime System (UMS), and Underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (UROV) Subject Matter Expertise and Engineering Support associated with underwater MCM (Mine Countermeasure), EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal), Security and in-service engineering. You will work with a senior technician, and engineering support, including soware
development, for system development, man and machine interface development, test and evaluation, requirements capture, production, maintenance,and system support under Unmanned and Small Combatants Office PEO USC in conjunction with NUWC, NIWC Pacific, NSWC PCD, and other DoD Programs.
In this role, you will:
Developing System Engineering plans for integration and R&D. Provide UMCM, UMS, UROV, autonomous systems, and Maritime Subject Matter
Expertise for R&Dand OT&E.
Analyze unmanned vehicle (UxV) system designs, specifications, and technical data to determine whether various systems are ready for developmental/operational testing.
Analyze results from UxV systems and capabilities under test/evaluation to ensure performance successfully meets engineering specifications and operational requirements.
Investigate system failures, evaluate corrective alternatives and implement actions to ensure UxV systems maintain safe, effective operations and minimize/eliminate potential future system failures.
Develop technical/logistics documentation in support of UxV operations, training and sustainment, including user manuals, training guides and system maintenance manuals.
Develop concept of operations (CONOPS) and standard operating procedures (SOP) documentation for UxV operations, tactics, doctrine and vehicle deployment
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Bachelor's Degree in System Engineering or similar field or equivalent experienceand 5-7 years of related experience in System Engineering.
An active Secret clearance.
Minimum three (3) years' experience with at-sea testing and evaluation of UxVsKnowledge of, and experience working with military unmanned systems and safety standards, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulicsystems
Knowledge and experience following Systems Engineering standards, procedures, and best practices
Ability to work effectively in both independent and team environments
Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, and at all levels of sponsor/customer/corporate organizations
Knowledge and experience using Microso Office products, such as MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint.
Additional desired experience and skills:
Experience working with U. S. Navy Ocean Systems engineering and safety procedures
Experience and working knowledge of U. S. Navy Weapon Systems, including compliance standards and applicable regulations
Unmanned Systems operational knowledge and experience with
Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Operator's License, U.S. Navy
Active TS/SCI clearance or eligibility
