Technical & Project Solutions (T&PS) Electrical Design
WORK LOCATION
This position will be based out of Birmingham, AL, however candidates living outside of the area may be considered with the expectation that they could successfully telework and would be willing to travel to work and field location on a routine (to be determined) and as-needed basis.
This position will require a mix of both field and office work.
Field work can include site visits to various work locations and may require overnight travel.
Some office work can be performed remotely (telework/work from home).
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for compiling, managing, analyzing, and reporting data related to Technical & Project Solutions (T&PS) Electrical Design operations. Generates recurring and ad-hoc reports used to measure performance against goals and identify opportunities to increase efficiencies. Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge. Leads efforts to manage data associated with engineering expenditures of budgeted work hours.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with engineers, designers, and drafters to meet all design initiatives
Manage technical databases and inventories of department owned or leased equipment and electrical test equipment
Maintain in-house, web-based software applications
Spearhead Electrical Design automation initiatives
Provide first-line technical support for engineering applications
Develop and conduct training in Electrical Design software tools, procedures, and guidelines
Administer databases utilized to manage departmental data
Support other ad-hoc analytical requirements in the department
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
High School Graduate (or Equivalent) required
Two-year technical college degree or equivalent work experience
Four-year degree preferred
Certifications preferred
Work Experience
5 to 10 years of experience related to PC hardware and software management, troubleshooting, new software deployment, and technical instruction in corporate engineering environment.
Advanced knowledge of database development and management
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Expert knowledge of Windows-based engineering applications and troubleshooting
Highly proficient developing and delivering new and existing training content to students in classroom or one-on-one setting
Ability to innovate, develop, and deploy new tools in addition to leverage existing software tools to overcome design challenges
Displays good problem solving, analytical, and interpersonal/communications skills
Must be able to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
Show initiative and be able to learn, effectively plan, organize, and execute assigned work
