Description
SAIC seeks a highly experienced and energetic Software Engineer to directly support the US Space Force with mission system modernization, meeting mission requirements, providing new capabilities, and supporting the USSF mission. In support of the government customer, the SAIC Program Manager, and the Chief Engineer, the Software Engineer is responsible for responsive and coherent planning, development, and delivery of software solutions for the space launch ranges
Job Duties
Responsible for code development and code deploymentfor thesoftwareversion releases which modifies thesoftwarebaseline of the space launch ranges
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs application software.
Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting.
Ability to support system integration, test, development, and execution of various types of complexsystems.
Develops technical solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
Participate in troubleshooting systems to resolve complex issues, interact, and coordinate with engineers responsible for sustaining operational and test systems.
Qualifications
Required
Strong understanding of cloud native concepts
Experience developing cloud native services
Bachelors'degree and nineplus (9+) years' experience; Mastersdegree and sevenplus (7+) years' experience
Experience developing software with C/C++, Java, Python
Experience in Agile development methodologies
Must hold Secret security clearance
Desired
Experience with establishing best practices for cloud native application development
Familiarity with design and implementation of cloud native microservices using industry best practices and design patterns
Ability to identify and implement opportunities for improvement in application design and development
Good understanding of DevSecOps concepts, Docker and/or Kubernetes
Experience leading agile software development teams
Experience as a Scrum Master
Experience as a Product Owner
Experiencemodernizing DoD systems
Knowledge of the space launch ranges
