JMT is seeking a motivated Water Resources Project Engineer with 6-10 years of design experience to join the Philadelphia group. The Project Engineer will perform various design and permitting tasks in conjunction and with the oversight of senior design engineers. The successful candidate will be well-versed across the water resources discipline with demonstrated design and management experience in Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI), drainage, erosion and sediment control, stormwater management design, H&H modeling, and permitting with the supporting capabilities to perform a variety of design tasks in the civil engineering and environmental permitting field.
Candidate has the flexibility to sit in either Philadelphia, Fort Washington, or Allentown office.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Candidates must be capable of working on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced team-oriented environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must.
Candidates to be familiar with Federal, State and local jurisdiction design standards and permitting regulations is required. In particular, the preferred candidate shall be familiar with the policies, publications and practices of the City of Philadelphia, Local Municipalities, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
Candidates to be capable of completing design tasks including, but are not limited to, the development of roadway and site grading plans, drainage design, stormwater management design, erosion and sedimentation control / NPDES permitting, construction staging and sequencing plans, watershed studies, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and design/inspection of traditional and innovative green stormwater infrastructure and SWM BMPs in both urban and rural environments.
Candidates to complete assignments will be performed through a working knowledge of applicable design criteria, regulatory requirements, and standards and processes.
Candidates to be capable of coordinating with contractors, outside consultants, government agencies, and JMT staff from multiple locations and technical disciplines is expected.

Qualification Preferences
Experience working with City of Philadelphia, Local Municipalities withing Southeastern PA, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
2-D Modeling experience using SWMM or comparable model
Experience with Civil 3D utilizing corridors, pipe alignments, various grading tools, and creating surfaces.
Experience with ORD SUDA
Experience with advanced hydraulic modeling.
Working Conditions
Work is performed within a general office environment 75% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
Candidate will need a valid driver license and mode of transportation to occasionally conduct site visits, field investigations, or inspections.
