Description
We are seeking a full-time Payroll Accountant in our Durham, NC location. This critical role will perform all activities necessary to process payroll and ensure that people are paid correctly and on time utilizing rates such as base pay, overtime, and prevailing wage. This individual must be able to work under tight deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution preferably with a focus in Accounting or Business-related field. In lieu of a degree, equivalent experience will be considered.
Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or finance
Minimum 5 years of payroll experience
Experience with processing payroll using a third-party payroll provider system
Knowledge and accounting experience with journal entries and reconciliations
High proficiency in MS Excel
Experience using an enterprise resource planning tool or work management system required
Experience processing payroll with multiple companies a plus
Experience with filing certified payroll reports for prevailing wages a plus
