Responsibilities
The Senior Program Manager assists teams in initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing projects and key activities within the Periodic Table of Food Initiative (PTFI). Working primarily with workstream leads, team members, and stakeholders. This individual will develop project plans, track and motor progress, key deliverables, activities, and identify risks and issues across workstreams
Works across multiple workstreams that include communications, outreach, Science, Technology, and Implementation to develop programs and solutions that identify and implement strategic initiatives for PTFI
Ensures adherence to master plans and schedules, develop solutions to program issues, direct workflow of those assigned to program from various departments - Monitors progress of program
Supports roll-out of key deliverables, including working with vendors, subject matter experts, consultants, partners, internal staff, and external team members
Performs program management, including oversight of all projects managed by individual workstreams
Uses project management tools such as, Microsoft Project, Visio, and relevant mind-mapping software
Contributes to grant reporting requirements in collaboration with team members
Drives accountability to the program plan(s). Develops a detailed work plan. Works closely with departmental leads to ensure projects meet deadlines
Works collaboratively with internal and external staff, management, consultants, subject matter experts, and team members for assigned projects
Represents Project Management on Cross-Functional Teams
Travels as necessary to fulfill demands of the position
Ability to travel up to 15% of work time and to work evening and weekends
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Five (5) to Eight (8) years of proven experience
Knowledgeable in Program or Project Management including related methodologies and practical application
Minimum of five years experience in Project or Program Management
Ability to manage multiple workstreams that are simultaneously working on projects and business operations
Functional understanding of Technology, Science, Marketing, and Grants
Ability to prioritize work assignments, meet multiple deadlines, and manage several large projects simultaneously
Strong interpersonal skills, including negotiation and conflict management
Effective decisive decision-making and delegation skills
Willingness and ability to build consensus among project teams
