As Director of Product Planning and Operations within the CDTO Product management team you'll be at the forefront of defining and driving product planning and operation functions identifying key outcomes and driving to achieve success metrics across the CDTO Product Management organization.
This role would offer you an opportunity to be results-driven, and customer-focused, transforming our SaaS and Subscription Commerce product which has a line of visibility to the Senior Leadership team.
Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
Drive a cohesive product roadmap process and ensure alignment of our long-term strategy
Implement tools, systems and processes ensuring the product team can internalize the voice of the customers and stakeholders and adopt data-driven processes
Define and measure KPIs in concert with various product leaders, and drive activities such as QBRs, and OKR retrospective
Establish processes and mechanisms for product strategy communications via all-hands, town halls etc.
Simplify of new hire onboarding process and experience
Establish your brand as a trusted partner and trusted advisor to executing with value in mind
What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
Partner closely with Product Managers, Program Managers, Engineering, Product and Business Stakeholders to orchestrate the delivery of key outcomes
Create and enhance existing frameworks and processes for the Product Management team to drive VMware's Digital Transformation charter
Help the Product Management leadership team to handle different process requirements, team dynamics, and user bases, without losing the brand essence that keeps them all coherently together
Help by defining an effective onboarding process and then puts everything in place so that there is a clear path from the day of hire to becoming a productive member of the team. You want to make sure that your newly hired team members can get up to speed quickly, learn what they need to know and plug into the current team, all without slowing the existing team down.
Maintain templates, guidelines, references, and resources for product managers. You should make sure that these resources are the right ones for the task, are easy to use, and are made available in a central, easy to find location.
Find the most effective way to deal with repetitive processes, for the sake of saving time and other valuable resources, for team members to boost productivity.
A blend of detective work, Influence & drive collaboration with your team by facilitating workshops and activities, aligning team members on executing product Strategy, Roadmap & Execution and keeping everyone aligned
Build and manage Product managers Product / Domain roadmap progress reporting, roadmap plans, JIRA dashboards, measure and track product(s) and domain(s) roadmap from concept to delivery
Define and measure OKRs and KPIs in concert with various product line leaders on the adoption of defined process and framework to the best of their ability
Establish processes and mechanisms for product strategy communications via all-hands, town halls, etc., as well as systems for effective dissemination of product plans and roadmaps to key stakeholders
