Job Summary

Dominion Energy is seeking one individual to fill the Electric T&D Projects Manager I position in Charlottesville, VA.

Responsible for project management activities related to the execution of the Company's Rural Broadband Program. This work primarily consists of the installation of fiber optic infrastructure in rural areas to be used as middle mile infrastructure to provide broadband internet to those who currently do not have adequate access. This work is high volume, less complex in nature but requires the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. This role also tightly coordinates activities between our ISP partners, Electric Distribution Design, Right of Way, and IT Telecomm to ensure project success. Manages adherence to service and/or contract standards, and coordination of permitting activities related to Railroad and Water Crossings, Interstate and State and Federal Authorities. Accomplishes assigned objectives and ensures timely completion of project.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities, and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

  • Significant related experience (5+ years directly related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 7+ years directly related experience with an Associate's degree; or 9+ years directly related experience with a High School diploma/ GED) - Electric Distribution Design, Telecommunications, Fiber Optic Design, Fiber Optic Construction, Joint Use applications, and/or Project management.

  • Ability to work and develop rapport with all levels of management and staff.

  • Ability to represent the project and the company in public forums.

  • Team building skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation capabilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Proficiency in typical Business software products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Cost control and reporting skills

  • Superior knowledge of distribution design, design standards, and Company policies

  • Operational knowledge

  • Financial acumen, familiarity with Company accounting systems

  • Experience in process development

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, and network with multiple departments
