We are currently hiring for a Development Director for our Chicago market. The Development Director will be part of the Heart of Chicago team to oversee fundraising, volunteer recruitment and management, and event logistics for our annual Chicago Heart Ball.

Responsibilities
Prospect and secure local corporate sponsorships and individual donations. Includes building and maintaining relationships with corporate partners and donors to retain and upgrade their financial commitment.
Recruit and manage executive volunteer leadership, volunteer committees, and day of the event volunteers.
Assist in the campaign's signature event auction including working to solicit auction items and preparing packages to generate revenue.
Lead and engage new individual membership for our Cor Vitae giving society, in partnership with other appropriate fundraising staff. Includes planning and implementing regular engagement events for members.
Develop profiles on the top businesses within the assigned market(s) with a documented plan to secure their involvement.
Handle event management including but not limited to planning, logistics, implementation, and evaluation post-event for constant improvements.
Work with a Communications Director to support and promote campaign communication plans.
Qualifications
3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or equivalent type experience
University/College degree or equivalent experience, preferred
Ability to do daily local travel up to 50%; requires access to reliable transportation at all times
Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving
Must have at least basic knowledge and skill/proficiency with Microsoft Office

University/College degree or equivalent experience, preferred
Experience managing and cultivating high-level leaders at the C-Suite level
Knowledge of corporate and community networks
