Southern Nuclear, a subsidiary of Southern Company, manages and operates six nuclear power electric generating plants that provide approximately 20 percent of the electricity used in Alabama and Georgia. EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT - SOUTHERN NUCLEAR CORPORATE (Birmingham, AL)
JOB SUMMARY
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Human Resources and will provide executive support to the VP. In addition, this role will have administrative responsibilities with the HR Director and Talent Management Manager and provide administrative assistance to the HR department as needed. A minimum of five years' experience in the administrative/secretarial/support area is strongly preferred. In addition, the successful candidate must have exceptional organizational and decision-making skills, must be a self-starter and possess the ability and desire to work through changing priorities with minimal supervision. Finally, the successful candidate must exhibit Our Values and be a team player with an exceptional working knowledge of computer office applications. This position is located at the Corporate Office in Birmingham, AL.
Experience Requirements
Significant experience in an administrative/secretarial or support role. (5 years or more strongly preferred)
Experience in working with executive management is preferred.
Exceptional computer knowledge & skills using office applications. (i.e. Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Web Top Documentum, etc.)
Experience with effectively dealing with highly confidential and sensitive information
Exceptional organizational and communication skills
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Exceptional administrative skills. (i.e., excellent customer service & phone skills, excellent time management skills, scheduling & planning meetings/conference calls/leadership training sessions, preparing agendas & materials for meetings, recording & transcribing meeting notes, making travel arrangements, preparing & processing expense statements, electronic file management, budget oversight)
Ability to manage executive calendar and emails
Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
Ability to build & maintain relationships with administrative and executive support staff and work effectively with individuals at all levels in the corporation.
Exceptional organizational skills with ability to prioritize & multi-task
Exceptional communication & listening skills, while demonstrating a high level of attention to detail
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Word, Teams)
Ability to make decisions and anticipate next steps
Knowledge of Corporate Travel procedures and guidelines
Knowledge of electronic timekeeping systems and other HR Databases
