We are seeking a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized Data Analyst to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing firing data in support of our customer onboard NSWC Corona.

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Maintain a repository of python scripts and jupyter notebooks which are used for Aegis systems data processing and analysis.

  • Extract, filter, merge, transform, and export data upon request given specifications.

  • Process raw data into useable H5 format via in house applications and tools.

  • Perform analysis on data from Aegis Defense System and build products based on this analysis.

  • Act as product owner in an Agile development environment to represent the needs of Analysts for in house application development team.

  • Improves assessment process for TEMP measures by developing more complete, correct and relevant algorithms and analytical methodologies.

  • Develops new performance measures to assist in comprehensive assessment.

  • Assess database results to develop conclusions for both positive and negative performance.

  • Develops recommendations for correcting negative performance.

  • Ship rides as necessary to collect data and observer notes during test events.

  • Develops assessment results to be included in reports.

  • Author performance reports technical presentations as required.

  • Orally present results to the technical community as required.

  • Provides team building, facilitation, coordination, coaching, problem solving, inter-personal communication, and serve as liaison for the manager.

  • Works with team members to achieve specific task objectives and requirements.

  • Reports task progress, perform goal setting, and represent the team in support of task assignments.

  • Continually increases knowledge in the areas of the Combat System as a whole.

  • Promotes and communicate NAVSEA Warfare Center Transformation and Alignment goals and objectives.

  • Contributes to Performance Assessment Department's goals and objectives.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Analytical Abilities

  • Critical thinking skills and ability to learn complex systems independently alongside standard familiarity with Microsoft office tools.

  • Python (Commonly used libraries include NumPy, Pandas, Openpyxl, Plotly, MatPlotLib, Scipy, and re)

  • Jupyter Notebooks

  • MATLAB

  • LINUX

  • Git

  • Ability to communicate technical information both orally and in writing.

  • Object Oriented Programming

  • Microsoft Office Software Suite (Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Agile Development

  • Atlassian Software Suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence)

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Ability to obtain Secret Level Security Clearance

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of the Aegis Weapon System Test and Evaluation Acquisition processes, and performance assessment techniques.

  • Knowledge of assessment measures and the data required to assess them.

  • Knowledge of weapons and/or combat systems such as AEGIS, Standard Missile, ESSM, Rolling Airframe Missile, Tomahawk.

  • Knowledge of Air Defense programs such as Theater Ballistic Missile Defense and Cooperative Engagement Capability.

  • Understanding of Navy Rank and Rate Structure
