Equipment Reliability Engineer/Analyst
Description
Southern Nuclear Operating Company's corporate Fleet Plant Support Department provides governance, oversight and support for various Engineering Systems, Components, and Programs for the Southern Nuclear Fleet. We are seeking an engineer or analyst capable of implementing engineering equipment reliability programs. Based on SNC business needs and the successful candidate's experience, Engineering Equipment Reliability assignments will primarily be:
Equipment Reliability (ER) metrics
System Health Reporting
ER bubble charting / binning
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Develop and maintain Automated System Health Report (ASHR) program
Develop and maintain Equipment Reliability (ER) SQL reports, metrics and binning, including general communication and coordination with respective site organizations (e.g. engineering, maintenance, operations, outage management, etc.)
Provide technical support to the SNC plant sites for Equipment Reliability programs implementation.
Participate in the industry to ensure SNC stays aware of emerging issues and technology developments relevant to ER processes.
Support advancement of standardization and sharing of best practices across the Southern Nuclear Fleet.
Ensure implementation of corporate, plant and department policies and procedures.
Ability to hold self and others accountable for safe work practices.
Maintain unescorted access to all SNC facilities.
The position is located at the SNC Corporate Office in Birmingham, AL, or at one of the operating sites and will require about 25% travel.
Education Requirements:
4-year degree in business, computer systems, or engineering is preferred.
Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university or Professional Engineer license is required for Engineer titled role.
Technical certifications and/or work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree for an Analyst titled role.
Experience Preferences:
At least three (3) years of power plant experience is required, experience in ER or Performance Improvement (PI) areas is highly preferred (applicable nuclear Navy experience is acceptable).
Work experience in Technology Organization may be considered in lieu of ER or PI experience.
Work experience in ER related areas is desired.
